I gotta say man, I've been watching this channel since 2011 and we are about the same age 34. I admire how you have stuck with it making videos this long. I've tried and I know how hard it is in the northeast to get a deer let alone get it on camera. Nice job! 👍

Right now I’m reading a book about the civil war and thought it would be cool to see if someone went hunting with any and I found your channel like a few days ago and watched the 2017 and the 2018 hunt. Awesome content yet again, it’s so cool to see someone using something that played a huge roll in America’s history.

Most people don’t know how hard it is to sneak up on deer with a scoped bolt action rifle. Much less a flintlock. This was awesome. Love your videos brother. Also love how you acknowledge the Lord and all His blessings.

I greatly appreciate a hunter who has the patience and desire to hunt purely TRADITIONALLY. It isn't easy, but it is extremely rewarding! Congrats to you, sir! As a native Pennsylvania, I appreciate the spectacular scenery on your videos as well as that gorgeous flintlock.

When trying to get within range of a critter regardless of choice of arm don't stand up straight and walk directly towards it bend over to resemble a four legged critter and meander towards it stopping to make it look like you are nibbling on brush, keep your arm low and out of sight as much as possible and stalk into the wind, you'll be amazed at how close you can get my grandfather learned this trick from the Chippewa kids he grew up with on the UP of Michigan, and taught it to me

Great to see sir. I am also glad to see that in the time of PETA that your dislikes are pretty minimal! I feel most people feel this is more sporting than the modern hunting that takes place, more equal opportunity.

I feel it is. I honestly wish they would make it mandatory to hunt big game with recurve or long bow and black powder only. Too many people out there dropping deer from 300 yards away with a huge rifle with a scope on it, I don't care who you are that doesn't require an ounce of skill and to think people actually brag about killing an animal that way. And you know what I hate is when people hunt black powder season with their inline rifles. A black powder rifle should not have a scope.

Hey John, u still using theM STEELHEADS with your bow? Im using the last ones they made( the silver trophy ridge ones) before they discontinued them. I also picked up some of the black old school rocket 125's and 100s. The older ones are for sure better quality but I have to figure out how to touch up the blades before I will ever use them on an animal. So I was just curious how your experience has been with the steelheads. U get mostly pass throughs? And how have your blood trails been?

That's what I love about hunting I just shot my first deer with a bow at 13 and it was a 12 point buck in Indiana on public land. It wayed about 175 pounds. And I shot it through the shoulder with muzzy brodheads and right through both lungs comprising them and out the other for my first deer with my bow and first monster buck. This was on Saturday, and it was at 22 yards with a 55 pound bow going through both shoulders and lungs. Ps I love your channel bro.
