Rachel McAdams did an absolutely incredible job. I knew a mean girl exactly like Regina in school. Rachel captured the mannerisms of a mean girl, and the pretentiousness of their facial expressions so perfectly. She played it perfectly.

Right?!? I don't think she's praised enough for it. I was genuinely taken aback when she said "no no I know what homeschool is, I'm not retarded", I felt like I'd met this person before. I get that Regina is a caricature, but her dialogue and mannerisms feel so much more real than most writers could ever hope to achieve. "I mean, that sounds bad but whatever" is honest to god the most real thing I've ever heard someone say in a film.

I think everyone knew or will know a Regina George and not just in high school. I knew one in both colleges and every job I've ever had. Last summer there was a woman sitting outside a gas station with a sign saying she and her kids where hungry. Being daylight and with plenty of people around, I talked to her. She was breaking down talking about her work and how bad it was. Literally said her work was like being in the movie Mean Girls. Some of this movie is dramatized because it's a movie but damn...they really got the high school issues down to a T. It's all about that social ladder and that part of life never stops past puberty.
