Why can’t there be a Test World Cup? 6-8 teams involved. One match in the day and one day/night match running simultaneously. Two more start as the first ones end and then semi finals or just a final. Two months of non stop test cricket just imagine! It would generate much more eyeballs than this one off test championship final

12:02 the only thing Pakistan is missing in Test team is 2 Quick bowlers, and we do have MuSA, Dhani, Hasnain and now ihsanullah who can bowl uick but are never picked. Don't look at their domestic records if they have pace just play them, you will see a turn around in Tests as well. Also We are jit picking the right combination it should always be 3 fast 2 spin or 3 spin and 2 fast bowlers. Play with 5 bowlers in test matches you need 20 wickets to win. Shan is cowardly picking up a squad with a bowler short to enhance batting.

3 tiers of 4 is perfect.. . 3 test series home and away for each team ... 18 test matches over 2 years ... 9 per year ... promotion and relegation in each tier ... and run division 2 who can earn promotion.... and pool funding and split it so tier 2 and 3 get some subsidy

Thank you once again for great analysis. The way cricket is run by its administrators is an abomination. Have you ever seen the European Cricket Network matches. They are running matches every week between European countries for both men and women. I have seen cricket matches between Greece and Croatia Women's team which consists solely of non-expatriate players. They seem to be doing more to spread cricket than the ICC itself. I would like to hear your thoughts if any on this league.

You boys nailed the last two topics. In the UK, it's become and will become a huge story until England boycott unfortunately. A hysteria is being whipped up which ignores your points and why tf has it taken until, checks notes, a few months before the tournament to rush for - what should be in normal circumstances, a last resort - a boycott! 😬

Two tiered WTC means at most 6 teams in the top tier. India won't play Pakistan, so logistically that means there are only 4 teams that India will play in a 2-yr cycle. Aus will only host teams in Nov-Jan, Eng will only host teams in Jun-Aug, marquee cricketers will not play test cricket in Apr-May. Additionally, South Africa and Australia will not play bilaterals with Afghanistan if they happen to be promoted. The tier system works well for other sports that aren't as fractured as cricket. Accepting this system would also mean the BCCI, CA and ECB accepting a relegation possibility.

I have a simple question on the tier system. Let say the big three (India, Australia and England) promote the tier system. Why is it that the rest of the countries have to say yes to them. The fact of the matter should be that at some point the other countries need to have some respect and say well enough is enough and we don't want to play with you and so the big three can keep on playing with each other. The other is how much cam the big three play with each other and make money out of it. There will be a time when it will become boring and things will become problematic. There is only so much they can play with each other. Having said that, I was hoping PCB would take a stance and well money has spoken for the champions trophy case as well where simply put all have sold there self respect for it so while I hope my wish comes true money will always have the last say.
