The SUP champion from Hawaii travels to Hood River to try her hand at stand-up paddling on the whitewater of White Salmon River. Can she cut it?
Candice Appleby then heads to the Columbia River Gorge for the 3rd Annual Columbia Gorge Paddle Challenge and has some bonus fun in the video, stand up paddle training with the big winds JET team.
Before the day is out, Candice surfs in the wake of a massive river sternwheeler. That's one hell of a day.

back in the day the thing was seeing the "George girls" in groups rideing there mountion bikes up those hills in groups , training for tje upc9ming windsurfing seasion, Yea! big groups of girls all working out together, it was no joke. No easey sporting it back then 25 to 65 mph winds on a windsurf board hanging off a sail, boy them were some quality type athletic girls, yea! they were a blast to hang out with...cheers.

Where did you get those elbow pads. I m OC-1 [paddler and looking for a pair of those. It would kind if you let me know where to get them. Great video for certain . You should check out the wake of the fast catamaran to Catalina. 26 miles at 40 m.p.h. over the open ocean swells. Need a tow in and a fast chase ski with range. Dreamed about it years ago before tow in. Now it seems like you would be a big trolling lure.

+mynamesmike88 Jet skis are for dummies. Its always the douche bags with ego problems who ride jet ski's a lot. They think it somehow makes them feel cool. Jet skiing gets booooring after a few times. Paddling is about getting exercise, catching waves, catching white water.

Awwww bless ya. Jet ski are the water version of a mobility scooter 😜 Paddle boarding isn't just one sport. There's racing, surfing, down winding to name a few. Obviously if you feel the need to be powered along by an engine that's okay, paddling is too much effort for some people 😝🤙
