Nice vid man, would love to see some small stream trout action this summer🤙🎣
@AdriftFishing2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ll hit it at some stage 🤙 but prefer the cooler months. Better for survival rates on the trout

@@AdriftFishing fair enough mate, good to see at least some members of the community focused on sustainable freshwater fishing, early spring or autumn are my fave times of year

Been there tried that haha! Maybe a clear bubble wrap popper fly haha! But damned if they will take a clouser or Charlie or crab/worm pattern lol

Great video mate - Was this on the morning high tide? do you prefer mornings over afternoons?
@AdriftFishing2 жыл бұрын
Both in the afternoon with little tide movement around a dodge Tbh I do well on both so all depends. Better weather normally in the morning

Haha yeah that’s it man. Their handy equipment
@kevinbrian32442 жыл бұрын
That was really informative John. Like the others I'd like to know the rod and reel setup you used. They looked so light and balanced.
@AdriftFishing2 жыл бұрын
Well it is an older reel, which I may have dunked 🤫 so I’ll be back to using my emeraldis which has a super light drag system. Rod is a drunken monkey by Diawa
@chris_leskovsek2 жыл бұрын
Man love this ultra light fishing! good stuff John - similar to Ajing or even chasing Kahawais , which I love to do here in the metro areas of Auckland!
@AdriftFishing2 жыл бұрын
Yeah man it’s something I wish I did more of while I was in nz, but yeah you could tune it to ky easy and is pretty much aji
@gavinmatten45242 жыл бұрын
Great vid, thanks man! Do you ever use a hawaian snap ( or similar) to facilitate quick lure changes? If so, what do you use ?
@AdriftFishing2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure of the name of them but their a little clip, but on occasion they come open, I’ve swim for a few lures before 🤙😂
@gavinmatten45242 жыл бұрын
@@AdriftFishing do you find they affect the action of the lure ( compared to a loop knot?). I think they do
@AdriftFishing2 жыл бұрын
@@gavinmatten4524 depends, maybe on real small stuff but on the top water if anything it will weigh the nose a bit which will help
@KK-gj9ds2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, love your vid! What setup do you use to catch whiting with lures? Thanks
@AdriftFishing2 жыл бұрын
I use a Diawa drunken monkey 1-2kg and fish 6lb braid
@chiuliechiu97602 жыл бұрын
What kinda set you got there my friend?? UL??
@AdriftFishing2 жыл бұрын
Yeah ultra light man. 6lb braid and leader and 1-2kg rod 6’10 it goes well on them
