Don't worry Jack I was 16yrs when I first heard this song back in 86 and I was riding in the car with some friends and I starting crying...well to this day they do not let me forget that and when I listen to this song it reminds me of my brother who died back in 89 car accident a month before he turned 18yrs and the song also reminds me of my mother who passed back in 1995..but as usual good reaction..but once again react to Whitney's...song.."My Name Is Not Susan".

I am sad that your family passed Zachary: I hope you have many happy memories now. When I hear Patti Labelle's "You Are My Friend" that makes me think of my dad. And we have a few tears to shed and some funny moments to share now. Its funny how songs do that to us. The first time I got a chance to see Whitney I was about 12 or 13. My parents took me and one of my friends to see this historic concert, where she opened for Jeffrey Osborne. We all found out two things that night: (a) we had just witnessed greatness and (b) some random stranger will always try to offer you weed. Anyway, I went around the mulberry bush to say that great music lives on.

I was a mess when Whitney passed away. 2012 was a tough year on so many levels. We were at my brother's birthday party when my older sister gave us the news. This song has hit me differently ever since then because a few weeks after Whitney, my Education Advisor from my old High School past away. He was an incredible man. A few months prior, he asked me to come back to sing at the party celebrating the end of the School Year. Mind you, I was super sick so I declined at first. But he begged me so I accepted. The Greatest Love of All was the song I chose to sing. It was a crazy choice since I was sick but that's the song my spirit told me to sing. I knew he was sick but he told me he was doing great. After the performance, I came over to him. He had tears in his eyes. I asked him if he was okay. He just stared and thanked me. Told me how really grateful he was and that the performance was amazing. That moment was confusing but only hit me when I learned about him passing. He just knew. So, I always associate this song with him and of course Whitney. Great reaction video.

My favorite singer. I first saw Whitney at Sweetwaters night club in New York City back in the 80's before her first album dropped. She was signing backup for her mom Cissy Houston - it was Cissy's show. I was sitting at a table right next to where Whitney was standing and I was blown away. Also, Clive Davis was at the table on the other side of me. I watched her rise to stardom and was so proud of her. I miss that beautiful songbird so very much. Rest in Power Whitney! And yes, that is her mom Cissy in the video.
