She sing that after 2 HOURS of singing her butt OFF (all live) This Rio 1994 was one of my fav concert of all time

KNG N it’s crazy how much stamina she had. It’s no surprise her voice would decline like that. She never had time to rest. I doubt any average singer today could last one of her concerts, but the thing is she did HUNDREDS of these concerts. That’s how resilient her voice was.

She loved Bobby for sure but I truly Beileve Robyn was who she was meant to be (and absolutely should've been) with. Robyn was definitely at least partially on Whitney's mind whenever she sang this particular song (among others) I beileve a huge part of what drove Whitney in the abyss of drugs and cigarette smoking was her inability to come to grips with and reconcile her bisexuality with her public image/career and homophobic family. Had Whitney decided to give the world the middle middle finger and leave Bobby for Robyn (whom was a far more positive influence on Whitney, bcuz she's a health nut athlete) she'd still be here today.

The way she sings "it made me feel so tired", or "you make me feel so good inside". The emotion and the meaning she puts in those phrases. You can't find that in any other version, including the original.

Let's be real. Whitney in her prime (especially 87,88, and 91) did Aretha a favor by never performing RESPECT and Chain of fools. She would've absolutely slayed and butchered (in the BEST way possible) the living Hell out of those songs in her prime; in ways even Queen Aretha herself couldn't. I know there's a tiny clip of her singing 1 line of RESPECT, at a 1994 private party.

@Bloooooooooooppp6 жыл бұрын
DeshaunX I agree. I mean we all know her substance abuse struggles and I’m not discounting that. But i also think that a lot of times the picture that are posted are her at the ends of concerts when her hair is sweated out, or her on vacation not caring about hair and makeup. A lot pics were taken out of context. If her hair was perfectly done in this clip no one would think she was high.
