Whitney Houston is the best singer of all time. That is a literal fact. It's not just about how beautiful her voice is. Her attention to detail is amazing. Pay attention to the subtle things in this song: 1) where she places her vibrato. where she leaves it out and throws it back in consistently changes, keeping the song interesting and making every note have its own character. 2) how she makes some notes seemlessly blend with the texture of the production -- "A few stolen moments is all that we share..." And then how she makes some notes explode, pop and light up the whole room -- "But no other man's gonna do..." This is definitely just a common part of musical phrasing, but she does it so effortlessly and so seemlessly! She knows exactly what she wants to do with her voice, down to the last detail! A vocal master, in my opinion, is someone who both knows what they want to do with their voice and knows how to acheive it. Whitney Houston is the pinnacle of that description. She knew exactly what she wanted her voice to do in each track, and she had the musicianship, range, control, voice, power, phrasing and talent to execute it every time, seemlessly. That is why Whitney Houston is the greatest singer of all time. There is no one who comes even close to her. Also, shout-outs to her producers for making such high quality mixes.

Back in 1985, this song was the one which got my attention. I was like "Oh my God, who is she? What a voice". Then, I saw this video for the first time, how classy she looked. I cracked my piggy bank and immediately went to the record store to find the album, when the record store said it was completely sold out and out of stock and told me to come back in 2 weeks. Bummer!! I finally did got her album in vinyl and CD. One of my most treasured item in my record and CD collection. I will never forget that moment on, such nostalgia. Whitney is always No. 1 to me. So true! Her death was very odd. Her sister, in a televised interview, explained she went to get food and left Whitney in the bath. When she returned she instantly knew something was wrong as the room was in complete darkness which made no sense to her as apparently Whitney was scared of the dark. Then Whitney's daughter was also found dead in a bath tub. All very strange as Whitney would not have jumped out of the bath turned every light off and then got back in according to her sister. Really left me wondering after seeing that interview! 🤷🏾♂️🙏🏾

I was in the music industry in the 80s. Whitney did not write or read music. Her voice was truly God-given. I would assume that she learned some breath control from her early years in church choir, but she barely even needed a voice coach once her career took off. It's impossible to teach someone to sing like that! Her tone, control, phrasing, along with that undeniable 'it' factor, makes her the ultimate female vocalist of our lifetime. And the male is Frank Sinatra - and he's a bit past our lifetime! There are many who try, but no one can capture that magic. And that's what is it - pure magic!!

Exactly
@Theundisputedelite2 жыл бұрын
Simple because in that era it wasnt about the money, ofc artists back then were still getting paid its just that they truly crafted their music with the upmost regard and passion, wrote songs that had meaning, todays music sounds like it comes from a conveyor belt, yeah theyre coming out so much songs and albums but theres no quality in them, no soul no passion no form of creativity, all just to make a quick buck, doesnt mean that all artists are bad its just only the trash is being promoted, you have to look for all the great artists now…..

Loving the fact that a big part of the video story is based in London, it adds to the songs story of being away and challenged. Interestingly all Whitneys hits were covers, this song was co written by Michael Masser and Carol Kings ex husband Gerald Goffin. These guys are incredible and to think of the numbers of hit songs they (And of course Carol King generated) is mind boggling. Great songwriting/composing with an incredible delivery and vocal performance is such a team work of art.

Regardless not on major publication referred to her as the voice when she passed. Not Life, not Time, not Rolling Stone or Billboard..hell not even People.

+jubbadupa actually the first time I heard someone refer to her as the voice was in 2004 when she performed at the World Music Awards and it wasn't by "fanatics" as you say. But by well respected music producers, other artists, and I believe Entertainment Tonight called her The Voice as well. Not trying to sound like a fanatic but Whitney Houston is the Voice. Her songs are the most auditioned songs on TV singing shows such as American Idol and The Voice. (No, I did not make this up) And about 3/4 of the women out here that aspire to be singers often try to mimic her vocal techniques. (That will never happen though)

Saving All My Love For You Whitney Houston A few stolen moments is all that we shared You've got your family and they need you there Though I try to resist being last on your list But no other man's gonna do So I'm saving all my love for you It's not very easy living all alone My friends try and tell me find a man of my own But each time I try, I just break down and cry 'Cause I'd rather be home feeling blue So I'm saving all my love for you You used to tell me we'd run away together Love gives you the right to be free You said: Be patient, just wait a little longer But that's just an old fantasy I've got to get ready, just a few minutes more Gonna get that old feeling when you walk through that door 'Cause tonight is the night for a feeling alright We'll be making love the whole night through So I'm saving all my love Yes, I'm saving all my love Yes, I'm saving all my love for you No other woman is gonna love you more 'Cause tonight is the night that I'm feeling alright We'll be making love the whole night through So I'm saving all my love Yeah, I'm saving all my loving Yes, I'm saving all my love for you For you For you

Diana, Princess of Wales is alive! Yes, and it’s time the world begins to awaken to this Truth and so much more. Not only is our beloved Princess still with us, but so is John F. Kennedy, Jr., Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, and Lauren Bessette. There’s also a long list of celebrities and entrepreneurs including David Bowie, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, Robin Williams, Steve Jobs, and Whitney Houston. So, how does one account for something as unbelievable as this? Well, each person named above, and those whose names haven’t been revealed yet, have their own story, and soon you’ll be learning about it. However, in the meantime, here’s the short version. Each one of these people, at one point, entered into a worldwide witness protection program. Wondering what these individuals needed protection from? It’s something the likes of which the average man or woman has never been confronted with. Although it may sound funny, each one of us will eventually have a role in the “Big Picture,” too. What is it? We need to respectfully listen to their stories and begin to understand the “as yet, unrecognized threat” that humanity has been living amongst. Bottom line is that we must give these brave people an opportunity to tell their stories and face head-on the Truths that we’ll be given in order to protect our families and ourselves now and forever more. Best way for us to complete our responsibility is to have unwavering faith in our Creator, God Eternal.
