There's no way Usman loses this 3rd match, he's gonna play it safe the way he usually had fought before. He's gonna fight smart, stick to the game plan, outscore Leon, overpower him. If the round gets past the 1st round, Usman is gonna wrestle his way into the W.

Everyone always mentions altitude, but it's still a factor in this fight. If someone trains at altitude, they increase their hemoglobin to adjust. Cardio just gets better at sea level because there is more oxygen.

And both fighters would have been affected, maybe it affects Edwards game plan more, but still Usman will have an uplift too

Was it altitude or Leon's lack of experience using grappling in big fights? You are fighting adrenaline fatigue, the altitude, and not having the grappler's conditioning. Excited to see this fight!

The dilemma for for Usman is in 8 rounds he can’t put Leon away. When you don’t have someone’s number and can’t put someone away the odds stack against you over time. Usman had ample time but can’t seem to hurt Leon or put him in real danger

People who say lucky head kick doesn't understand how rocky set that up. Usman was trying to slip the jab he thought was coming he's trying to slip it andslap it away at the same time which is why his hands were down . Brilliant by Edwards to see that Usman tended to react the same way to that setup almost every time . Then. Headshot dead as Edwards said lol

A KO like this is always a problem. Even discussing now if Usmans legacy is tarnished because of it. It only was one move that wasn't countered/blocked at the right moment. Not saying Edwards is bad or anything, but a surprising knockout doesn't indicate which one of them is a better fighter as a whole.

The big thing in this fight is Kamaru and his body and injuries and where his head is as a result of the injuries. His knees are so fucked that he had to walk backwards down stairs and couldn't walk on concrete, so how much have they recovered? And he's established a pretty top tier legacy and has the bank account to go with it, so the motivation is a question

Idon Wantella2 ай бұрын
@Cerus 0508 how long do you think Usman trained blocking head kicks? Years, right?
Idon Wantella2 ай бұрын
@pr0fess0rbadass BS. Something I absolutely hate about MMA is when people say you're not a real champion until you defend the title. If the champ does not defend the title, it was merely luck. When Usman regains the belt, what do you think people will say about Edwards? It was a fluke and he got lucky. Or maybe you interpret the saying differently?
Fuzzywuzzy052 ай бұрын
@Idon Wantella It was not the kick that was lucky. Edwards got lucky coz Usman took his foot off the gas and tried to coast his way to victory in the final round. he was a bit too relaxed. the kick was perfectly setup.

Not really. Cro cop never used it in the same way. Rob builds off his jab/jab straight to land the straight -> same side headkick with broken timing. He also varies the timing between the straight and the headkick a lot to catch people, watch the gastelum fight for a masterclass of it. Cro cop would mostly feint the straight and throw the headkick. Rob does it better than anyone we've seen in the ufc. Dillashaw did something similar (kind of). Cro cop also used the body kick to set up his high kick a lot iirc

Yes but if Usman zigged instead of zagged he may have not been hit at all, it's a metaphor for accidentally making one decision instead of another. If Usman pulled back, shot a takedown, ducked under, many different things. But he slipped right to dodge a phantom straight that never came
