I just came home from my mostly wonderful work as a highschool teacher for music and voice , but had a hard time, as my family is in grief about the grandfather( he was a master of building clocks😊), and the athmosphere was not very friendly and stressed up there, today.... sometimes it takes courage to be vulnerable and still go out to work. But your words about poetry and the bigger connections, (and about the importance of risking oneself !) encouraged me right away. As I know, it is my task here, to bring my heartfulness to my surrounding. So thank you also, for YOUR open heart, it is an amazing inspiration to me. ❤ Alexandra

✨🕯️🔆💫✨ I played Catcher on a softball team growing up, and then on an Air Force team after I left home. As catcher, I learned quite quickly what happens when both eyes aren’t on the ball! The face catches what the hand misses!! 😆😅 And it’s NOT wonderful! 🤕😵. This whole talk resonates - love the mythic furniture and the idea that “making” brings myth and love and mystery into the lives of others as well! Yes!! It must! ✨✨ The book “Like Water for Chocolate” /Laura Esquivel I think, does a really funny twist on that with cooking. I laughed out loud reading it! And I always thought afterwards - may I cook, may I make, may I do everything with a clear and open heart. No Tude! 😆 And the ‘weekend self’ will give me something to ponder on my walk this morning. 🌻🔆

Dear David, I just found your channel and it warms my heart. Lately, I have the thirst to write poetry and do it a lot not knowing if it's really poetry...I have shared it on facebook but the reaction had been mixed with most friends walking away from that part of me. However, I know I'm into something. What advice can you give me? Would you be willing to read just one of my poems and be honest with me? Meanwhile, I'm a teacher trying to raise 2 kids so I know I'm not yet fully into it but its the beginning. Just need a friend...

@mareleneel7925, Thank you for your note. Unfortunately, David is unable to offer personal advice or feedback on poetry at this time, due to the overwhelming number of requests he receives. Wishing you very well in your new literary beginning and in trusting your emerging voice. - David Whyte Team

Could have spelt practising correctly.

It can be spelt this way too, it's the US spelling.

@carmel3613 True, but you sound British, and Americans don't know the difference between a verb and a noun.

@carmel3613 I liked the video though.

@@alanstewart7802 Hello Alan, a genuine thought on this first comment under a poetic musing: pointing out a spelling between British and American English strikes me as 1/a Virgo speaking up or 2/an Enneagram Type One keeping order in the house, or 3/someone in search for meaning .... Either way, I hope that the quesitons "who are you becoming" and more so, "Who do you WANT to become" fell on fertile ground....

@gerlindechristina238 I'm afraid I have no idea what you mean, but it sounds like psychobabble to me.
