Climate change, among other things, is a clear proof of how everything is connected. Everyone and everything influence the rest of the world, the universe. That's why I feel a bit sad when people don't care about others for a reason or another... I mean, I understand that sometimes we can wish someone who had hurt us to be hurt in return, but when you know what is taught in this video from Alan Watts, you suddenly understand that it's useless to just hate and it's better to try to know how the person who hurted us thought and also how to at least try to make this situation a better and less painful one for both parties.

I lile listening to Alan Watts. He has certainly helped me with my journey. I like the new ideas coming forth that intelligence evolves to receive more energy or life force so we can comprehend the nature of the material world in a more profound way. So we can ask these questions like who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I here? and so on. It seems that the great minds and thinkers seem to agree on many of these points and I must say that I am leaning that way that we are life force energy, which holds useful information for our next experiences. I do vedic scripture readings and these are facinating and seem to be talking about the world today. The Kali Yuga is what we are in and this is the easiest time to connect to yourself and try to come to terms with these questions. Thanks for sharing. Another freat video and I am pleased to see you are getting sponsors. Good for you. :)

Alan Watts was a metaphysical genius. He figured it all out except for several major points, which weren't revealed until around the time of his death by the Source of All: The Mind that is "God." God is the Mind that is ALL, and we are Thought within that Mind, given the ability to think WITH that Mind. This is what LOVE is: the communion of Thought in the Mind that is God. And as for The Meaning of Life, this world's greatest secret, it is this: We fell into limitation when we lost our desire for Truth. Therefore, we are experiencing a dream, a virtual-reality realm of limitation that is teaching us to RETURN to our natural desire for Truth. "And in your desire lies its accomplishment." When your desire for Truth become totally unprejudiced and absolute you will return to your natural state of LIMITLESS Being. Yes, THIS is salvation. And this is the entire purpose of the Cycle of Necessity, which is also known as reincarnation. I explain all of this in great detail in my book "THE HOLY GRAIL IS FOUND."

Sometime ago I asked myself the excat same question. But not with a philosophical intention, but because I was working on improving certain skills and generally was in a process of "shaping" myself, escpeically in the social context and I was like "I know where I want to get due to this process, but I don't know my status quo: How do people percieve me? Where did my life choices bring me? What am I capable of? What do I like doing and truely enjoy? What do I not enjoy? etc." I'm still struggling with answering questions of this kind about myself, but in regards of the question "Who am I?", I think one answer is the most practical: "You're defined by what you do and by how you feel about doing it." Eventhough this only might explain one aspect of the Self, it is the most practical aspect of it imo and everything else is just theoretical and therefore of none real relevance. I can answer the first part of the question for myself, but I'm still quite struggling with the "how I feel about it". I hope to soon find something that I deeply feel good about doing, not only for a short term, but in the long term too.

Peace of mind comes when you learn The Meaning of Life: the reason why you are experiencing this temporal world of limitation. But this has always been this world's best-kept secret. Until recently.... Alan Watts was a metaphysical genius and a messenger from God. He figured it all out except for several major points, which weren't revealed until around the time of his death by the Source of All: The Mind that is "God." @@tomrhodes1629 I get your point and I get Alan Watt's idea. But it isn't sufficient imo. There are two realities / world's: The Spiritual World and The Mundane (that's what I would call them). With the spiritual world I refer to the metaphysical (religion, philosophy, spiritualism etc.) and with the mundane I refer to the physical (science, economy, society etc.) Alan Watts idea of the human being only understands the human in the context of the spiritual world (I don't know everything A.W. said, but that's my impression), but he doesn't understand the other reality that well. If you only dive into the spiritual perspective, you lose touch to the mundane, to society, technology etc. and for me at least, this isn't what I'd consider desirable. I want to live in both worlds

I'm uneducated and can't express myself properly in words. I don't believe in god anymore in the sense of God being a creator. I've experienced god/ the universe as an omnipresent energy that I am part of when I had a drug induced psychosis. This has led me to be completely lost, because I don't see the point in working anymore, I don't like material things except cigarettes. So I'm basically living on cigarettes and coffee and one small meal a day waiting for the day that I commit suicide. I don't want to be part of this society ( working, paying bills, small pleasures ). I feel like I have seen enough and I experienced tons. Maybe there is still more to know but I lack the motivation because no one can really know. What I want to experience now is death. During psychosis I had a moment of floating. Just a second, I got scared. It's like I was floating out in nothing but everything in the same time. Psychiatrists and psychologists try to fix me but I don't think they can change my view on things. I'm even taking antidepressants Wich lift up my mood but don't make me want to stop wanting to kill myself. So I'm looking forward for that day where I kill myself. I tried before and I failed. Next time will be the good one. I want to join nothingness or everything. I want to know.

This is such a bittersweet video for me. My ex girlfriend broke our relationship and all our future plans because she took inspiration on alan watts.. She wanted to live a life as an open spirit. Being Independent and non monogamous, meeting new people every day, and if the vibe is great, she would a sexual connection with them.. This has caused me so much pain because we felt deeply connected. Soul mates if you will. Its been only a month since it happened and i still struggle with the loss, brought me deeper into depression. She wanted to remain friends i couldn't remain her friend because it would just hurt me too much seeing a future without her by my side.. Maybe its my perspective on life and monogamy that is wrong, or its hers, or both.. I would love other peoples opinions about this if you really don't mind answering a fellow internet stranger. Thank you for the video. I have a lot to learn about life and our emotions Maybe one day i will understand the bigger picture.

People only act in ways that they are able to. Ultimately though, if she doesn't want what you want, then you shouldn't sell yourself short and compromise on your views just to fit into someone else's mold. It might be painful and you may want to seek comfort, but take this time to reflect on what you define a relationship as to begin with. I think people need to feel safe in a relationship so reflect on that. Monogamy may feel safe for some people where an open relationship may feel safe for others. What do you want? Don't rush to an answer too quickly. Take your time and try not to obsess over your negative emotions. They're natural because you can't help but feel the way you do. Take your mind off things when you can and just keep going.

Curious if anybody here has ever experienced something like that. Good day everyone!

It was a little jarring but also kind of beautiful :)

Correct. And I have all of the details.

I remember I had a friend that was like "dude Alan Watts is so smart" he kept showing me video after video, this is the same dude who did a ton of LSD. Kinda tainted my view of Alan Watts but this video actually showed me there is something to be gained from his philosophy. So thank you for that.

You are so lucky you had a friend introduce you to Alan Watts, that is honestly a blessing and it’s great to be thankful for it. Alan Watts and his philosophy, which is derived from Eastern Philosophy, is absolutely amazing and helps shift your mindset and perspective on not only yourself, but life/existence itself. He has brought much positivity into my life he has made me realize that happiness comes from within, and I am the true creator of my reality, as it is up to me how I feel from within no matter the life events that happen or people I interact with. I highly recommend channels like TheSpiritualLibrary, True Meaning, Elysium, Decoding Spirituality, and Not For The Masses; they all have full length lectures and short bite sized videos that are always nice to play at any time of the day. Cheers!

Don't think that you get it before you've got it, or you will NEVER get it. Knowing that you don't know is wisdom, and that's the first step. The next step is unprejudiced desire for Truth. He figured it all out except for several major points, which weren't revealed until around the time of his death by the Source of All: The Mind that is "God." Alan Watts and Taoist thought resonates with Advaita Vedanta philosophy. Albeit not popular in present Hindu way of life but when a person dies following cremation and last rites the ashes are immersed in river, it is said that body has been merged with five elements of earth. It is remarkable reference to the view how we are embedded in the larger life.

Advaita Vedanta is right on. And in my book I explain how it's deepest of truths have been revealed across the globe from the beginning of time, though most haven't understood. Alan Watts undoubtedly got much of his info from the Advaita Vedanta. He was a metaphysical genius and a messenger from God. He figured it all out except for several major points, which weren't revealed until around the time of his death by the Source of All: The Mind that is "God." This is quantum phenomenon at play: just by observing it you change the nature of the system based on the quality of your measuring equipment. I know who I am, I am an observer. I believe everything has already happened in the universe. The past, present and future has already been played out, what I do is to choose my plane of observation. It doesn't mean other possibilities did not happen, but just that I didn't choose to observe that plane. My mind is the measuring tool (perception), I need to continuously develop and sharpen it to give me better observations (life). We are all observers, contributing our plane of observation to the whole, everything we do affect each other. We get our chance to contribute by the way we respond to things that happen to us or around us. For instance, we are alive, how do we respond to being alive? Or life has happened to us, and life is around us, how do we respond to life? The more conscious (aware) we are, the better our choices or contributions. Or maybe not better, but '...the more interesting our choices...'🤷😉

The question, "Who am I?" can only be answered by knowing, "Who or what I am NOT?" All the knowing, I am not. Therefore, knowing cannot define "I". "I" is that magical Nothingness, which knows all things.
