Who are Assam's 'doubtful' voters? | BBC News India

In the ongoing general elections, around a hundred thousand people from India's northeastern state of Assam are ineligible to cast their votes. BBC's Umang Poddar travels to the state to find out what happens to those who have been marked 'doubtful citizens'.

They are speaking Bengali with a Bangladeshi accent. Most of them are Hindu refugees who have come to India from Muslim majority Bangladesh /East Pakistan.

Would gujarat, tamil nadu, himachal pradesh , maharashtra would accept 50 lakhs bengali refugees or migrants. Definitely no Then why assam being used as scape goat. Settle them in west bengal Their didi distributing free aadhar and voter id to rohingyas and poor muslim illegal immigrants from bangladesh . Go claim your ethinc mother land before it get destroyed as bengalis there have fertility rate below 1.5 only.
