C'mon guys, you don't need a calculator for this. 24 represents a completed group (1 Chronicles 24) The only place 24 occurs in the Bible is when David organizes the 24 courses of the priests, and 24 leaders of those 24 courses, representing the complete group. They CANNOT be: Tribulation believers (Rev 7:13,14) Angels (Rev 7:11) Nation of Israel (Rev 7 & 12) The 24 Elders: They are sitting on thrones (Rev 3:21) They are clothed in white raiment (representing the righteousness of Christ) (Rev 3:25) They are wearing crowns of gold (Rev 2:10, 3:11) They sing a song of REDEEMED (Rev 5:9,10) They are called "elders" "kings" and "priests" (Rev 5:10) 24 Elders .....REDEEMED....KINGS and PRIESTS.....SHALL REIGN ON THE EARTH.... These are the 24 Elders in John’s vision in Revelation 4:4, “Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads.” All these Faithful Individuals existed before the Commandments, Law and Decrees of God, because the all of these Moral Laws, Governing Laws and Statutes were given to Moses “AFTER” the Nation of Israel (12 Tribes) was in bondage to Egypt, Parted the Red Sea (Exodus 14: 21) and then after they left Egypt were wandering in the wilderness for 40 years (Deut 8: 2). None of a Governing Law ever existed until Mt. Sinai and Moses. Moses is the "Transition", because God instructed Moses the Law and gave Moses the 10 Commandments at Mt. Sinai. A Law and Commandments Never existed on the earth until Moses. A Mosaic Covenant is established.

Peter was assuming the 3 were equal. That's why Two just vanished, and God told him boldly, " THIS is my Son, HEAR HIM." No where in all of Scripture is anyone made equal to Christ except the born again believers. I'm not saying we are equal, but we are treated equally. The other issues you haven't enlightened us on is that , the Nephilim came out of your so called nations which God told the Israelites to remove from the Earth. Giants were found in those tribes that showed lineage back to two of Noah's' sons. Second issue, in the Bible the vision of the throne of God in the Old Testament did not show the 24 Elders only in the New Testament. Also, your linking the Revelations verses to Deut 32:7-9 makes the listener take a big step of faith to believe you as it is NOT plain in your explanation, but in your own mind only. i was trying to understand the fact that this is even close to truth, but there is a fallacy when you talk about REV 5V9. the verse explains people who are saved through Jesus blood not the 24 elders. As you know I can read and understand, but I disagree. Deut. 32 and Acts 17:26 are referring to the geographical boundaries of the nations relative to the boundaries of the 12 tribes. The fact that they have nothing to do leadership clear from the additional reference in Acts 17:26 to the "times" (period of time) that God had predetermined a nation would occupy or be subjected to those boundaries. The 24 elders are representative heads--12 from the tribes and the 12 apostles. Your error is that you assume that the 12 apostles cannot also represent "every nation" that is, ALL nations of the world (including Israel) BECAUSE they are Jewish. However, the church is neither Jew nor Gentile and yet is made up of Jews and Gentiles, so the ethnicity of the 12 apostles is irrelevant and does not disqualify them. This is the distinctive of the New Covenant. There is also the promise Jesus made to his 12 disciples that they would sit on thrones judging the 12 tribes (Matt 19:28; Luke 22:30). This is significant because it shows that the 24 elders have EQUAL authority. That said, the old covenant was exclusively Jewish, hence the appropriateness of the leaders representing 12 tribes. Bottom line position 1 is correct. The 24 elders represent redeemed humanity under the Old and New Covenants.

Why 2 from each of the "nations"? You just included that to make up the 24 it seems? Sure, the 12 tribes of Israel that are named after the 12 leaders of each "nation". So the 12 apostles plus the 12 patriarchs = 24. Also, God does not get rid of the OT. Jesus just comes to fulfil the prophecies. If He replaces the OT, then the 10 Commandments mean nothing anymore today. The NT is hidden in the OT whilst the OT is fulfilled in the NT.

the best I can tell you is the 24 elders represent the Church, they have their crowns and robes which they get at the bema seat judgment and they are in heaven singing the song about how Jesus redeemed 'them' with his blood. I strongly believe 24 elders are the high priests of the temple of the Millennium - the temple described in Ezkiel. In Zechariah 3:8 God said the high priest Josuah and his colleagues (who came back home out of captivity from Persia) were a wondrous sign or a symbol, one concerning the coming Messiah. As a sign they are supposed to be resurrected and present themselves in the holy temple in Jerusalem during Millennium - along with Jesus Christ, the true Messiah, so that nation of Israel which betrayed Jesus Christ (except very few Jewish believers) may find their fault and repent seeing the 'sign' and the Messiah and repent.

I totally agree that 24 elders are not made by the 12 patriarchs and the 12 apostles, because i think the 24 elders belong to the Old Testament and they came from old times( that's why they are called elders). The apostle Joan was the one who saw the vision and he was still alive, how could he be one of the elders in the same time? The 12 patriarch were actually 13, Joseph was replaced by Ephraim and Manasseh . The reason i think they belong to the Old Testament is because in Exodus 25:40 God tells Moses to do everything according to what was shown to him on the mountain. Also God gave to David the plans for the Temple ( 1 Chronicles 28:19).And in Hebrews 8:5 we learn that those made in the Tent by Moses or in the Temple were the shadows of the originals from the Heaven. So the 24 elders were already in the heaven because the number of the priests and singers was given after them. The 24 rounds of the priests 1 Chronicles 24:7-19. They were made after the original that was in heaven. That's why the priest were burning odors on the golden altar in the Tent and Temple, like the 24 elders who were bringing the odors from their cups before the throne of God (Revelation 5:8). Everything that was in the Tent or Temple were in real in the Heavens already ( the Thrones, the golden altar, the 7 lights, the cherubim etc) They were also singers, like 1 Chronicles 25. and also kings. They were like Melchizedek, the kind of Salem and the priest of the High God. So they belong to the Old Testament and when Jesus came as the High Priest they all knelt before him to give him the 1st position over them.

I Peter 4:16, chosen to be an apostle yes but not one of the twelve, Matthias was chosen by lots drawn by the others to replace Judas Iscariot and I believe God honoured that choice. (See end of Acts 1) we see they prayed before drawing lots and by leaving it to chance like that we know that only God could have settled the outcome.

The holy scriptures doesn't say what works were done by Matthias, but it does record the works of Paul in great detail. If you think about, Paul was chosen by the hand of Christ, because he had a perfect spot for him, seeing that Paul persecuted the church of God, Paul had to lean obedience by suffering, as we all must. Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. Wrong!!! Jesus has to fulfil the 7 feats of the Lord. After He completed Passover once and for all it was the day of first fruits. On this day (After Passover), the high priest would come before God with an offering of the first fruits of the harvest. The harvest in this case is the resurrection. When the woman went to touch Jesus He told her not to because He had not been to the father. Then He disappears. This on the day of first fruits. On the day Jesus rose many many people seen other people that had rose from the graves as the bible tells us. These were the first fruits of the resurrection that on the day of first fruits, Jesus presented to the father as an offering. They are the 24 elders. Jesus had to fulfil the feats of first fruits what do you think He took to God... seeds? Fruit from a tree? Potatoes? No He took the first fruits of His resurrection. Besides that no redeemed person aka christian is in heaven and no sinner is in hell because judgement has not been given yet. Only the 24 elders were taken.

The rest of the chapter 7 shows their similarities to the Four and Twenty elders of Revelation 4:4. Here's two of them. (A) Revelation 7:11-12 which refers to Revelation 4:10-11, Rev. 4: 10. "The Four and Twenty Elders fall down before him that sat upon the throne, and worshipped him that liveth forever and ever,..." Rev. 4: 11. " Thou Art Worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power..." Then... Rev. 7: 11. "...and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell down before the throne on their faces and worshipped to God," 12. "Saying, Amen. Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving and honor, and power, and might be unto our God forever and ever. Amen." --- (B) Revelation 7:9,13, 14, each verse references their "white robes". The same as Revelation 4:4 "... I saw Four and Twenty Elders sitting, clothed in white raiment (robes)..." *Also, It would be impossible for the Four and Twenty Elders to be the Body of Christ which is His Church because we are "seated in the heavenlies in Jesus Christ." Ephesians 2:6; as opposed to Revelation 4:10 which says,..."And hast made us unto our God Kings and Priests: and we shall reign on the 🌎 EARTH." They seem to contradict each other because "the body of Christ which is His church" reigns in the Kingdom of God in the HEAVENLIES. Those who are the Priest and Kings "reign on EARTH" which is the Heavenly Kingdom of God on EARTH. *Note: the Priests and Kings are the "remnant believeing children of Israel" who are taken to a place of safety at the 3 and 1/2 year mark until the end of Daniel's 70th week. 💝
