Genetically Copts are descendants of Ancient Egyptians and the Coptic language is the last stage of the Egyptian language. Ancient Egyptians (Pharaohs) just a different Religion.

Clarification: Coptic means Egyptian, whether Muslim or Christian. There is no difference. The term Coptic is used for all Egyptians

@UCSA3501 Nope it when like this. The first people to adopt Christianity were in biblical Israel/Palestine not Lebanon. The parts of Lebanon that were then Israel/Palestine and later Palestine and after that became Lebanon in one part of an area where that entire population is spread. the oldest parts of that pop are in Gaza right now. 1000 of them before the bombs started. who knows now. All of these populations of Copts are practically equal age. All were once one and are in nomenclature second to Palestine/biblical Israel in terms of chronology Geographically. the oldest Copt tradition is in Gaza and in the west bank and parts of Lebanon, Egypt sure. but it's wrong to name another country 'first' when it comes to Coptic Christians that is not Israel biblical/or Palestine contemporary, as the same area because it misrepresents the actual geographical chronology. That wasn't Lebanon at the time that was Palestine/Israel for one thing. Areas surrounding and within Jerusalem of course was once ground zero but the oldest still live in the west bank and Gaza and other places after They Moved. and because They Moved that Means second. even if only in name.
