I don’t understand why the show can’t or refuses to do something like this again since the cult of skaro. Having the Daleks be individual characters gives the writers so much room for experimentation and better thematic storytelling, would also definitely help the casual audience groan less whenever daleks show up on screen since now at least they’d each have a series arc

@@Seth_And_Co. I liked many of the changes in the paradigm Daleks, they just went too far. Starting at the bottom, I liked the high bumper it's reminiscent of the first Dr. I liked the molded panels of the skirt, but it needs to return to the classic profile. (keeping the hatch in the back, I love the idea of interchangable weapons) I liked the body (weapons) section. Again, reminiscent of the first Daleks design without slats. The section should be a bit taller, again to match the classic profile. I'm not opposed to 4 neck rings, but the extra ring shouldn't use anymore height than the standard 3. Bring back the blue eye. Colors : Drones should be silver with blue hemispheres, like the originals. This frees up the color red and eliminates the need for orange (really? orange?) The red and blue look good with the darker, metallic paints they used later on. The white should be a flat paint, with reflective metallic hemispheres. The yellow should be replaced by a gold Dalek.

Same goes for the Cybermen. I’m so sick of them just being the Master’s tin soldiers in every story now instead of being their own entity. Other media (and older stories) show them capable of carrying entire scenes and even extended parts of stories all on their own, but they only wind up as cannon fodder and foot soldiers nowadays.

A great successor to the cult of skaro imo! Making each member of the dalek team very distinct and playing out the issues of the pecking order and divergent schemes. I’ve already confessed that the restoration executioners my favorite Dalek from voice to violent tendencies to his claw variant arm..and just how much it takes to contain him! The dalek prime strategist seems to be the star of the show though for most and I can see why. He’s on the same level as the time strategist and control without even having the same abilities! It’s honestly funny how often he tries to team up with the doctor

The idea of a Dalek time squad is fascinating. Having individual Daleks with their own little quirks and ambitions makes them more into characters. I never finished the Time Lord Victorious "Daleks!" animated series but I guess I should. I think a Dalek time squad could work wonders in the show, especially if they also returned to the classic DARDIS/ Dalek Timeship from the '60s. Almost like a loose remake of the Chase as a story arc.

Trust me that series only focuses on the Emperor and Stragist. A scientist and excutioner apear, but they literally both die.

@@GreaterGrievobeast55Ya your, at least the Excutioner got to lead a few war charges, the Scientist literally gets blown up out of nowhere. I honestly still don't know what was up with that. Did the entity attack the ship? Was there turbulence? Was it trying to process information, but was overloaded?

I LOVE these characters and I love Time Lord Victorious. because they started right off by proclaiming that it is a divergent timeline and does not change anything in current canon. What a relief. Also, I do think that it is full of some of the best Dalek stories!! Mutually Assured Destruction is my favorite Dalek story because of all of the Dalek banter! The Dalek Prime Strategist comes just barely over the DTC as my favorite Dalek character of all time because of his wit and his character arc of the “will he/won’t he go rogue” that even the Prime Strategist himself was playing into to manipulate the Doctor. Nick described him best as cunning and conniving and just so old!! And here’s a take of mine: “Daleks!” was genuinely good. Sure, the animation wasn’t up to par with some super skilled fan animations, but it is free and available on youtube for everyone to watch. They got a lot of Dalek body language that isn’t shown on TV very right, like off the top of my head, the strategist’s subtle twitching as he suppresses his annoyance at the Mechanoid scientist. The Emperor’s eye roll at the mechanoid queen was maybe unrealistic, but it was really funny. Animation aside, Nick Briggs’ vocal performance REALLY makes everything work, and, for a series that is a lot of Nick yelling at himself like most good Big Finish-style Dalek banter, you really feel like these characters are separate people. Not to mention, we see a lot of interpersonal communication and relationships between these Dalek characters!! And not only that, but between the Daleks and the mechanoids!! The prime strategist WARMING UP to the mechanoid scientist was legit one of the best Dalek character moments ever, because it’s so rare. A lot of the prime strategist’s character is incredibly rare, and yet, in his own words, in the end, he is still a Dalek. And some highlights of the prime strategist from all of TLV: that moment the Emperor falls silent and the other Daleks are asking for orders, but the Emperor is catatonic and unresponsive as he processes the destruction of the Dalek fleet, so the prime strategist chimes in in his place and issues orders. Really adds to the strategist’s claim that he’s older than the emperor. He’s seen more tragedy. The strategist is obviously more emotional than the basic Dalek lie of hate/anger being the only emotions they feel, but he’s got such a tight grip on his own emotions for his own survival that he can stay cool-headed whilst the emperor is so shocked and stricken that he’s completely unable to lead. The mechanoid scientist points out that the Emperor seems to have forgotten that the prime strategist exists, and the prime strategist admits that that is how he’s survived for so long. Amazing writing by James Goss. The strategist knows he sticks out by his own nature. He makes a point not to stick out any more than he has to, or he’ll be deemed impure and killed. The booklet short stories that came with the Eaglemoss figures say that the prime strategist put two and two together and realized that their native timeline is a divergent timeline, and then he hid the data and refused to tell anyone or act on this realization because the Dalek Empire wouldn’t take it well.

Amazing take on the mini series! The limited animations disparity to it’s quality writing makes up for everything snd then some, especially given the speed and conditions it was made in. Seeing how the daleks can persevere and be a threat without the doctor in the way is just the sort of thing I think a lot of fans wanted/needed to see. Having the mechanoids return in such an advanced and emotive manner was wonderful as well for how long they’ve been gone from the show. The entity chasing them gives is such a neat and intimidating threat for the daleks. Able to possess machines and slink through time lines, but half playful and diminutive of the his hateful prey. Treating them all as the bargaining chip or property to bend it’s masters ends as it sees fit. My favorite form it took was when it possessed the sentinel of the fifth Galaxy! He’s like the inverse of the beast, overtaking a harmless looking and even cute character like the ood, but tempting the prime strategist with power instead of instilling emotional anguish. I’ll also never miss an excuse to talk about how much I love the restoration executioner! He made for a wonderful introduction ti the series slaughtering soldiers in orbit with a dalek army behind them. The pride he took in destruction and unhinged nature was fun on it’s own but also a good contrast to the Emperors distinguished presence and the strategists logic. I wish he had been around for the whole series but my head canon is this one and the one in the dalek time squad are the same some how pfft. The scientist seemed to get the sort end of the stick but I like them as well. I just find that strange because I feel they usually get the most attention short of the leader type daleks!

The only part of Time Lord Victorious I have experienced is the Daleks animated series. I love the series's interactions between the restoration emperor and the prime strategist and their scheming natures. I'd quite like to listen to the audios that form part of the narrative at some point though.

Because of the multi-faceted nature of the Time Lord Victorious story - graphic novels, audio, animation.... I found it difficult to follow the thread of the story line. I guess I need a sort of "Noddy's guide' explanation. But I LOVED the animation, all the elements were spot on and frankly I yearn for more of the same.

if it helps, despite all the media that make up time lord victorious, functionally its built as a kinda sorta "choose your own adventure" format. the one unavoidable thing you need are the 2 novels as they are the core of the story, but you can kinda divide it up like this 8th doctor: big finish (he kills me, he kills me not/ the enemy of my enemy/mutually assured destruction, though echoes of extinction technically fits too) 9th doctor: doctor who comics (monstrous beauty) 10th doctor: arguably the tv series (4 episodes in particular are mentioned as fitting in the TLV narrative, but waters of mars is the obvious one and the one preceding the main events) 8/9/10: "the knight, the fool and the dead" and "all flesh is grass" (again, the core of the storyline) any other media in TLV is more to flesh out the overarching narrative or to add details to the factions that otherwise couldnt be added in ("genetics of the daleks" involves the last member of the time squad running into the 4th doctor. that dalek sends a message back thats received by the restoration empire, which leads to "the daleks" animated series of the restoration empire's events leading to "defender of the daleks", which itself is the restoration empire running into 10 before the TLV events kick off in full) basically, pick a doctor to narrow down which media you need, and grab the 2 novels. thats it

I love the dalek time squad. Personally, I would love to see the main show have different dalek classes, other than “gold casing” and “boss”. And credit to Nicholas Briggs, because he gives them all unique voices. The time squad leader is the most generic, but arrogant. The strategist is slimy and calm. The scientist is all nasally and snooty. And the executioner sounds like a bloodthirsty lunatic. More like this in the future please!

@@m.sharif_3d Oh I see! I’ll be honest, I’m really only in it for the Daleks, so I listened to The Enemy of my Enemy, Mutually Assured Destruction, and Genetics of the Daleks, and I paired that with the Defender of the Daleks comic, the Daleks! web series, and the All Flesh is Grass book I feel like I got a complete story. If you want to listen to the entire TLV story, there’s a timeline online of what order media is supposed to be consumed in! It’s very helpful.
