Trump build on all of the good things obama did with the US economy and improved on it. Especially for minorities and blacks. Trump was the first us president in 40 years not to get the states involved in a new war , as well as helping crush isis. Laying the ground work for leaving afganistan (which biden botched) Trump helped secure the us southern border with the remain in mexico policy which the mexican government was fully on board with because it imeduateky slowed imigration into their country (biden undid this with exective orders and told illegals to "surge the border" his exact words) Trump also closed down the "cages" for imigrant children. cages and a policy that Obama implimented and built. Yes, completely agree. Also, by and large the system here in Europe is quicker and simpler. America is encumbered by inherently corrupt practises such as gerrymandering, the lobbying system, and the fact that politicians can appoint the judiciary (a practise usually seen in totalitarian countries), and of course the ridiculous electoral college. There is also the religious element. In UK politics, the saying is 'we don't do God', and 'we don't do religion', in fact, if any politician were to go on about God or religion they would be considered nut jobs, and not get voted in. Indeed, the third in line for the presidency believes that a deity speaks to him, and compares himself to a biblical character. America has become a fundamentalist country, with states passing laws on superstitious religious beliefs. A general election has been called for the 4th July in the UK, and by then, there will have been 6 weeks of campaigning. Six weeks of this in the UK is considered too long, whereas in America, campaigning never seems to end. The polls in the UK close at 10pm on the 4th July, all postal votes are already in by that date (no fuss about postal votes in the UK, as there is in America). Results should be known in the early hours of the 5th. July. And, when the votes are in, there are no primadona politicians screaming that they should have won, or the vote was stolen, and no ridiculous court cases about the results. They are voted out on the 4th, and by the 5th they are out, and if the current party loses, the Prime Minister will be out of Downing street on the 5th. It's all nice and quick. There is no discontinuity of government when power goes to a different party. Also, in the UK and Europe, the leader of the ruling party can call an election at any time within the statutory period, (or indeed be ousted by a vote of no confidence) this doesn't seem to be the case in America, where parties always seem to go the whole term. We do have some strange politicians in the UK and here in Europe, but not as many, or anywhere remotely near as crazy as the politicians in America. Neither Biden or Trump are competent for vastly different reasons, but Biden is the lesser of two evils, compared to the lunatic Trump.

Also, election spending in Europe is, by law, tightly controlled, which makes the system more inclusive for independents, and large political donations are scrutinised. The lobbying and donation system in the US is basically, legalised corruption.

I think replacing Biden does not improve Democrats' chances. That said, I do think that putting Whitmer at the top of the ticket and keeping Harris as VP would be an inspired choice that would come about as close as possible. Democrats would vote for that option, likely with good turnout. I think that option does have a decent chance of capturing some of the Rust Belt states and it does have the possibility of offering a reasonably positive contrast to Trump's enduring negativity. If a switch happens, it needs to happen sooner rather than later so that there's actually time for a decent amount of campaigning.
