Dropping big money on rookies and prospects is basically going all in with a good hand before the flop in poker, and you might have lost your money already once you see those first cards turn. I don't care about the investment part of Witt's cards. I'm a Royals fan. Relax on Witt. He's 22. The potential is there. He's already very good defensively and a great base stealer. The bat will be there in a year or two. As for Julio, I've seen enough Mariners games the past year to know the talent is absolutely there to be a superstar. Obviously, most top prospects flop. It's been like that forever. But I wouldn't be giving up on Julio or Witt. Writing them off at age 22 is silly. Coming up at a young age and mashing like Trout and Pujols did is extremely rare.
@muddro420 Жыл бұрын
M's fan. The game changed a lot this year, our team not so much. Not in many positive ways. Teoscar is a great add, JK finally showing up is a great development, but Wong and Pollock were always question marks to me and they're proving why. Team is looking good in binges, as if the offensive coaches can't quite decide on how to handle games. These guys (and therefore Julio as well) are suffering whenever that needle swings too far toward aggression and swinging the bat, and their stats look abysmal because of it. But when they're patient, they can produce even against the best pitchers. I had the same reaction to his comment, thus it is not supposed to be about who they are now but who they are expected to become. Julio can reach the stars. But you never know what life is going to bring you, which makes it really dumb that people would spend so much money. A gator could eat one of his arms and one of his legs tomorrow. It could have already happened! Then what's that card gonna be worth? Eh, well if it was _that_ story maybe it would go up, but you know what I mean. :)

Ohtani is the one I think people should be more cautious of. They’re too caught up in the now. He came over way too late. His numbers in the end just won’t push him into the ‘all time’ talk outside of specific short periods of time. He also won’t stay a 2 way for many more years. By probably 32-33 he will hit or pitch full time. He really won’t have a shot at over 350+ homers. While JROD has a shot at 30+ HR a year for the next 15 years.

Fool and money shall part ways, classic example. I for one have bought ja Morants but all have been pretty cheap, and definitely not for "investment" I buy cause I like his game. This are sport cards not investments
