The teamwork between the management /owners & Unai is such a Brilliant sign & is so much better than previous managers looking in good place Martin O Neil but not getting on his management then he walks. Even the days of ultra successful Ron Saunders but he felt he had to walk out on the way to European Cup triumph because he did not get on with his management (Deadly Doug Ellis) .This management partnership N,S,W.E. is so much more focused on doing whatever it takes to give Unai whatever (tools) management partners he needs as well as transfer funds he needs obviously within the F.F.P guidlines maybe Unai has an accountant I would guess .In the next 5 years of this Unai contract I predict that in the league & Champions league If we are not to win one of those 2 or both I really think we will come mighty close & win a domestic cup or cups in the next years , I base that belief on the magic touch Unai has with players instilling belief & improving skill level . This inevitably leads to a more togetherness bond with all the players and Unai,

I'm so glad you've done this video Rich, this notion and myth we've got a good youth set up is rubbish, we've brought nobody of note through for 10 years bar Grealish and Ramsey for Aston Villa. A total overall is needed, why when you see England U-21's, 19's and 18's you see nobody coming through for England from Villa? There are more Southampton and Chelsea players coming through. My son was approached at 7 for Villa and I told the scout I've no interest in letting my son join Villa...and that kills me saying it as a 45yr old Villa fan.

I agree it's underwhelming. But I think you're under selling it a bit. We've raised over £60m from selling players you don't mention and we've currently got 4 players in the England under 18 team. But I agree we're not top tier.

Mr emery’s signing new 5 years deal is signing off the season! We Aston Villa need to increase our capacity of the ground to keep in touch with big 3 and challenge big 3..

For europe we need a minimum of 4 players trained by villa between the age of 15-21 so our youth is vital really we need to be keeping the very best of our youth and also buying some of the elite youth from around the world some of which if we can train them for 3 years before turning 21 they then meet our europe criteria but ffp is ruining things forcing clubs to sell youth almost

Is finishing 16th in PL2 really that great? Surely the club is a bit underwhelmed with how the youth teams are doing? There are no Archer, philogene or let alone Ramsey type players on the cusp of making it / able to be sold. And we've been reliant on these sales to comply with FFP

Very interesting Rich, can see Villa following the City model to sell the highly rated youth players. Agree with Charlie on the youth coverage it is non-existent really.. hopefully AVFC TV watched this today for some pointers.

We shouldnt do that man city are okay becaise they biy all the very best youth players 8n the world and always easily meet there european squad criteria at villa its not the case yet anyway so our youth players are vital we need 4 or 5 to come good and keep them for europe registration

Need to loan players out to European teams, championship, league one &two isn’t good enough, look at some of the players that went to play in Holland and Germany better standard of football and better coaches

But for europe you have to register 4 players trained by the club between the age of 15-21 we need to keep our very best youth players and really not just keep loaning them out as that doesnt count towards the 3 years trained by the club if we are buying world class 17-18 year olds its not so much a problem cause in 3 years they will meet the criteria currently im playing as villa on fm24 and its a real struggle to meet the criteria as all our youth is out on loan im having to just put 3 or 4 terrible players in my eoropean squad out of 25 maximum

We did the same review last year so just doing it again this year. Really glad Penno did an interview too as it's great to get the word about the youth players out. I haven't watched his podcast but glad the questions were similar as we must be doing something right 👊🏿

Well I can assure you that didn't happen. Like I said we did the same with academy AVFC last year. I would expect loads of Villa pods to do this type of interview and wouldn't expect any type of credit, and if I had have watched the episode with Penno I certainly wouldn't have just asked the same questions 😂 Thanks for watching though 👊🏿

Unfortunately for our academy players they won’t get the chance to progress to the senior team because this manager who I thinks is brilliant isn’t going to let academy players come through other than progress to the bench & come on has a 0:08 sub to prove to other clubs there capability then sell them on to another club to keep in the FFP rules do can invest in tried & trusted player it isn’t often Managers of Emery stature bring players through a academy unless your extra special football is a business today & the owners want money back on there investment quickly not in years to come shame but that’s football of today

This is the case with every top tier academy pretty much has been over the last couple of decades, I think homegrown talent is becoming a bit of a trend now, if they're good enough they will stay if they're not they will go
