A lot of these jinn stories and theories come from pre-Islamic Arabic mythology. Islam has used the word 'jinn', which means 'unseen/invisible being', but that doesn't mean it refers to the same beings that pre-Islamic Arabs believed in.

I saw a Jinn as a child. The Jinn' s lower body was like mist, and he was floating, almost dancing. It's face was like that of some sort of fucked up cat (for lack of a better word). He bothered me for weeks and scared the shit out of me, then my mother got a woman that helped get rid of it. This was in Iran in the late 80s. I do know the story of Solomon's ring. Hate the fact he trapped Jinn.
