@@approvedofGod Sir, that is absolutely ridiculous. It is not the name "Jesus" that matters in my answer. Jesus existed from the beginning. Read John 1:1. Jesus is called the Word. My answer stands. It was the pre incarnate Jesus and two angels. I don't care if you think the name Jesus applies to Him or not. That is who it was talking to Abraham.

@@thetroof5525 Nope. There was no incarnate Christ. The Word in John 1:1 is the spoken word or utterance from Almighty God. Jesus existed at the beginning as God, the God of the Old Testament. Look at the Greek for logos. It is not a divine person.

Nope. The three men are the trinity. Abraham saw God in three men ... standing next to God. He worshiped all three men, and not one of them told him not to. Neither does chpt 18 single out one of the men as God. And Abraham stood next to God watching the three men leaving. Chapter 18 fully explained how the Trinity works ( plural & singular). The three men are the father, Son & spirit. The Lord standing next to them & Abraham ... is the God the Spirit. The Spirit of God is every where and can take multiple forms at the same time. God the Father & Son, are a single entity and can only be at one place at a time. The Father & Son ... normally reside in Heaven. It is the Spirit of God ... that is responsible for omnipresent, omnipotence, and omniscience. The Mind of Man is body & soul. "Love God with all your heart, mind & soul." The Mind of God is Spirit ... which is Father, Son & Spirit. You could look upon the Father & Son being the body of God ... the the God's soul is the Spirit. Remember that the Church is the "body" of Christ ( Son of God).

John Chapter 8 Verse 54-58 {8:54} Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: {8:55} Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. {8:56} Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw [it,] and was glad. {8:57} Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? {8:58} Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. 1 of those man was Jesus, Jesus Himself admit Abraham have seen Him and He was there even before Abraham was born.

In my understanding the three Men were Yahweh (the son not the father), the two angels were Michael and Gabriel, the respective left and right hand before the ascension. Michael was the prince who sat at the right hand before jesus and Gabriel (Gods strength) was the left hand who ruled with an iron rod. The Father is the invisible God, whenever he appears visibly it is the Son who is accompanied by the spirit.

Be strong now; be strong.” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength.” 20 So he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come; 21 but first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one supports me against them except Michael, your prince. Here we have Daniel, God gave Daniel Gabriel (the strength of God) who is the left hand he rules with an iron rod (the word of God.) What happened in Genesis 19:1 is not two of the three in Genesis 18, it is two separate beings, angels. We were never told that two departed from the three. Given what we are told, Abraham was likely standing between the LORD and Sodom, when the LORD rose to go towards Sodom, thus putting Abraham face to face with the LORD (aka the three). Not standing behind them. The three being the trinity makes perfect sense given what Christ tells us of his relationship between the Father and the Holy Spirit. I take many issues with the idea that two were angels. 1. They all three spoke in unison, as one body and one with authority. 2. Why would angels speak in unison with God? This would make it appear as if they had equal authority as HIM. 3. When Abraham spoke to them, he referred to all three as LORD. This is clear from the text because it does not say, "and Abraham spoke to one or Abraham spoke to the one on the left/middle/right", because he addressed all three as LORD. 4. Abraham bowed to all three men. We are NOT to bow to angels! 5. The Hebrew word used for men is different from the word used in 19:1 for angels. 6. And most importantly, the passage never tells us that two of the three were angels. 7. Jesus stated in the NT that Abraham had seen him. People think that when God says that he created man in his image that is just speaking of our physical characteristics. However, scripture also describes man as a trinity, body, soul, and spirit. The minds of man are so little that we see the smaller picture without comprehending the bigger picture. Even though we were created in the image of God, he is not the same species as we. His trinity operates in three individual beings, as ours is in one. He has powers to enter our world and exit our world. He has powers to create new worlds and new life, if he chose. He literally is all powerful.

Just as angels can manifest themselves as man while on earth so can God. God is three beings which is why God appears as three men. These three men are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Together these three men are God in the flesh while on earth. This is not God's only form though. Just the form God takes when the Lord comes to earth. This the the Holy Trinity. Malak means Messenger but it's not ontologically means created or uncreated being. Context will define if malak (angel/Messenger) is created or uncreated being. Like Elohim (God or gods) is not ontologically Deity for example Exodus 7.1 YHWH made Moses Elohim to Pharaoh but moses was not Deity or all powerful or all knowing god. Lot called 2 Angels ADONAI in Genesis 19.18 [CLV] " And saying is Lot to them. "It must not be, pray, Yahweh!" not adoni ( human master) and in Genesis 19.24 And Yahweh rains on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulphur and fire from Yahweh, from the heavens.

How can the God who is one appear as a man standing before the tent of Abraham while He is still enthroned in heaven and still be present in every place in creation all at the same time? It is because He is the Father and He is the Son and He is the Holy Spirit. But if you don't understand that, He is a stone of stumbling to you. De 6:4 ¶ Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: The Meaning of One 1Co 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is ONE Spirit. The Spirit is God's essence. Spirit is what God is, and the Spirit He is is the Holy Spirit. That is the missing key to understanding "the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. The reason the Father and the Son are One is because they are the Holy Spirit and there is only One Holy Spirit. This scripture makes it plain. The Spirit is also how we are one in them when we believe. Ro 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but IN THE SPIRIT, if so be that THE SPIRIT OF GOD DWELL IN YOU. Now if any man have not THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST, he is none of his. 10 ¶ And if CHRIST be IN YOU, the body is dead because of sin; but THE SPIRIT IS LIFE because of righteousness. 11 But if THE SPIRIT OF HIM THAT RAISED UP JESUS from the dead DWELL IN YOU, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by HIS SPIRIT THAT DWELLETH IN YOU. Ro 12:5 So WE, BEING MANY, ARE ONE BODY IN CHRIST, and every one members one of another. 1Co 10:17 For we being many are ONE BREAD, and ONE BODY: for we are all partakers of that ONE BREAD. 1Co 12:12 ¶ For as THE BODY IS ONE, AND HATH MANY MEMBERS, and all the members of that ONE BODY, being many, are ONE BODY: SO ALSO IS CHRIST. In the exact same way, Jesus said,... Joh 10:30 I AND my Father ARE ONE. Joh 17:11 ¶ And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that THEY MAY BE ONE AS WE ARE: (IN THE SAME WAY) Joh 17:20 ¶ Neither pray I for these alone, but for THEM ALSO WHICH SHALL BELIEVE IN ME through their word; 21 THAT THEY ALL MAY BE ONE; AS THOU, FATHER, ART IN ME, AND I IN THEE, THAT THEY ALSO MAY BE ONE IN US: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that THEY MAY BE ONE, AS WE ARE ONE: (IN THE SAME WAY) 23 I IN THEM AND THOU IN ME, that they may be made perfect IN ONE; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Joh 17:24 ¶ Father, I WILL THAT THEY ALSO, WHOM THOU HAS GIVEN ME, BE WITH ME WHERE I AM; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for THOU LOVEDST ME BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD. 25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I IN THEM. Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another COMFORTER, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for HE DWELLETH WITH YOU, AND SHALL BE IN YOU. 18 ¶ I will not leave you comfortless: I WILL COME TO YOU. Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and WE WILL COME UNTO HIM, AND MAKE OUR ABODE WITH HIM. Jesus comes to us in the Holy Spirit. The Spirit doesn't leave them, it emanates from them. That is how God is omnipresent. His Spirit permeates every place in heaven and earth. Joh 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Mt 7:7 ¶ Ask, and it shall be given you; Lu 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? In the book of Revelation, in the last two chapters, where it talks about the new heaven and the new earth, we find no mention of the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit is there, in the Father and the Son. What we do see is a river of life flowing out of the throne. Re 22:1 ¶ And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. Joh 7:37 ¶ In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Joh 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. Trinity isn’t a good explanation of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Look at these references to the Holy Spirit. These are from the kjv. Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, the Spirit, Spirit of God, Spirit of Jesus Christ, Spirit of the Lord , Spirit of Christ, Spirit of the living God, Spirit of our God, Spirit of your Father, holy Spirit of God, Spirit which is of God, Spirit of His Son, his Holy Spirit, My Spirit, His Spirit, the Lord is that Spirit, Spirit of grace, holy Spirit of promise, Spirit of adoption, Spirit of life in Christ, Spirit of life from God, the Spirit itself. The way the Spirit is described in scripture as being "of God" and "of His Son" and being "His Spirit", it doesn't sound like a third person. The Spirit isn't a third person. It is what God is. Just as you and I are human beings, the Father and Son are Holy Spirit. The idea “trinity” was not conceived until about a hundred and fifty years after the crucifixion. It was not until the Synod of Alexandria in 362 A. D. that this hypothesis became doctrine. Catholic Encyclopedia Trinity: The Dogma of the Trinity: "The Trinity is the term employed to signify the central doctrine of the Christian religion - the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are THREE PERSONS, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these THREE PERSONS being truly distinct one from another." "The Persons are CO-ETERNAL and CO-EQUAL: all alike are uncreated and omnipotent." "In Scripture there is as yet no single term by which the Divine Persons are denoted together. The word TPIAS (of which the Latin TRINITAS is a translation) is first found in Theophilus of Antioch about A.D. 180. He speaks of “the TRINITY of God [the Father], His WORD and His WISDOM” (“AD. AUTO1”., II, 15, P.G., VI, 1078). The term may, of course have been in use before his time. Shortly afterwards it appears in its Latin form of TRINITAS in Tertullian (“De pud”, c. xxi, P.G., II 1026). In the next century the word is in general use. It is found in many passages of origin. "The writers of this school contend that The doctrine of the Trinity, as professed by the Church, is not contained in the New Testament, but it was first formulated in the second century and recieved final aprobation in the fourth century, as the result of the Arian and Macedonian controversies." The New Catholic Encyclopedia - 1967, VOL. XIV, PAGE 299: The formulation “one God in three Persons" was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the fourth century. But it is precisely this formulation that first claimed to title “The Trinitarian Dogma.” Among the apostlic fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective. Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Spirit is what God is, and the Spirit He is is the Holy Spirit. There is only One Holy Spirit, therefore, God is One. Php 1:19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, Lu 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Lu 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Clear 2 me. Maybe IF the 3 letter word G, as in Gadriel, o, as in odorous, d, as in devil < > God WAS/IS UNDERSTOOD AS TO WHAT IT REALLY MEANS & WHO IT FIRST APPLIED TO, THEN IT MIGHT MAKE IT CLEAR TO THOSE WHO ARE STILL CONFUSED!! Etymology of word God - Wahiduddin > "The word God is a relatively new European invention, which was never used in any of the ancient Judaeo-Christian scripture manuscripts which were written in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek or Latin." < > Etymology of word God - Wahiduddin "God" is a word that first came to be that word for the FRST TIME in the 3rd Century A.D., AND it applied to an IDOL that a Reiks named Wingurich paraded around in a chariot forcing all people in the presence of "God, the IDOL" to bow & grovel like a dog TO God the IDOL or perish!!! Does anyone study & research anymore??

No. This is teaching is incorrect. The three Men were the Trinity. Abraham worshiped all the three men and treat all three ... as God. Not one of the men told Abraham NOT to worship them. The Chapter never says two men left and Abraham spoke to one. Abraham saw God in three men standing next to God ... and what watched the three men leaving standing next to God. The Three Men were the Father Son & Spirit ... and .. it was God ( the Spirit) that was standing next to them & Abraham. The Spirit of God is everywhere and can take multiple forms at the same time. Chapter 18 was explaining how the Trinity works. The Father & Son can only take one form at a time, which is why they have thrones in Heaven. God is Spirit. And it is the Spirit of God that is all present, powerful & knowing. The Father & Son are in perfect union with the Spirit, with the Father being the God head who has final say ... which is why Jesus(Son of God) said not my will but thy will be done. The complete Man is body & soul. Jesus explained with the great commandment that the Mind of Man is the body & the soul. The body can "love" or "hate" God. This is why Jesus could not have a corrupt Human Body as it can sin. You can look at the Father & Son being the body of God ... & ... the Spirit being the soul of God. All three are God ... just as the body & soul is Man.

@@abelincoln8885 we both have same understanding. Malak means Messenger but it's not ontologically means created or uncreated being. Context will define if malak (angel/Messenger) is created or uncreated being for example Genesis 16v7-14 or Exodus 3. On these verses first NALAK YHWH appeared and later verses MALAK YHWH became YHWH or God in Exodus3.6. Another example Elohim (God or gods) is not ontologically Deity for example Exodus 7.1 YHWH made Moses Elohim to Pharaoh but moses was not Deity or all powerful or all knowing god. The other YHWH left Abraham amd 2 Malak went to Sodom and Gomorrah and when Lot saw them, Lot bowed down with his face to the ground. Lot called 2 Angels ADONAI in Genesis 19.18 [CLV] " And saying is Lot to them. "It must not be, pray, Yahweh!" not adoni ( human master), and in Genesis 19.24 And Yahweh rains on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulphur and fire from Yahweh, from the heavens.

@@stargategoku The first reference to God in the Torah ... is Elohim. Bereshiet Eohim .... created (singular) ... the Heaven & the Earth. All the Hebrew words in the Torah used to describe God of Abraham, Issac & Jacob ... are completely ontological once you have read them in the correct context. Again. Elohim was the first word used for the God that created the Heaven's and the Earth. Bereshit ... is word for Genesis ... and is translated to mean "In the beginning" and also means "Covenant." Old Hebrew was a pictograph language with each letter being a picture with common accepted meaning ... and ... a old Hebrew worlds usually have a picture mean. Bereshit also has a hidden meaning of "SON of God ... by his HANDS will be the SIGN." And Genesis 1.2 Then says the SPIRIT of God was hovering over the surface of the Earth ..... not Elohim or any other Hebrew word for the God of Abrahma, Issac & Jacob. God is referred to in singular & plural pronouns ... in Genesis (Bereshit or the Covenant). Everything about God, His being & nature ... and ... His plan to save His children.... is in Genesis, including God will provide His "only begotten Son" to be a sin sacrifice that will satisfy God (The Father) who must punish all who sin ... with death (body & soul). Again. You must get everything in the correct context, and stop ignoring the obvious. Issac was not Abraham's "only begotten Son" that was mentioned THREE times in Genesis 22. Remember Abraham saw God in Three Men in Genesis 18 ... and knew at that time that God is a Father, Son & Spirit. This Chapter was fully explaining how the Trinity works. There is nothing in Genesis 18 that says God is one of the three men ... and .... the other Angels. What you are doing is assuming Genesis 19 ... is a continuation of Genesis 18. It is not. Lot is not Abraham ... but a very flawed person ... who stupidly worshiped two Angels and offered his two daughters to be raped by perverts ... to try to protect the Angels. God or Angels .... are not frightened of puny human beings wanting to rape them ... and definitely would never want Lot to offer his daughters to be raped & murders ... to save an Almighty God ... or ... two powerful Angels. The Two Angels of God ... were sent to destroy the cities. The Three Men that Abraham meet were going to to see if the sins of the cities were true. Again. These Men are God ... and already know about the sins of the city. Genesis 18 & 19 ... where deliberately made similar but are not the same story ... to explain God is a Trinity and Abraham, not Lot, is who God choose to be the Father of the Faith ... & ... a nation of Priest ( Jews ). Abraham knew with the binding of Issac ... that God is a Father, Son & Spirit. God wasn't really testing Abraham at all. Abraham knew exactly what God was doing .. when he was ordered to sacrifice his "only begotten" Son. Genesis 22 was a Messianic Prophecy ... with God providing His only begotten Son ... to be a sin sacrifice ... that will satisfy God, and save His Children from death. The most important book of the Bible (Torah) ... is Genesis ... is the Covenant between God & Man ... is God's Son by His Hands will be the sign.

God does whatever he likes and if he wants to take the appearance of a human or three, who are you to question his power? He is the Almighty, he can do anything.
