I VIVIDLY remember seeing Mike Long giving a seminar in Anaheim California at Anglers Marine. This had to of been in the mid 90's. I remember thinking to myself, "This big Cross-Eyed Oger is catching big bass" ??? . . . I wasn't buying it for a minute. I listened to him jaw for about 2 minutes and said, "This Guy's so full of shit". He wasn't even talking about fishing . . . he was spraying a bunch non-sense about eating healthy and having the right mental frame of mind. Total ''Hocus Pocus Bullshit'.

In my first bass tournament, i was walking through the parking lot after the tournament and saw a bunch of people around a boat. I was new to the state and thought I would go see what’s going on. There was a guy in the boat stepping on a bass tail and pulling on his mouth. I asked one of the people what is he doing the answer was “He is stretching the fish”. My last bass tournament..

Watch 2007 bassmaster elite on the Cal. Delta, I'm sure you don't know this but it doesn't matter what you use the fish must be caught inside the mouth or you have to release the fish. Watch Steven Browning and Kevin VanDam, they both reach over the boat with both arms and take off the fish so the camera can't see where the hook is. You need to use both because one hand holds the fish while the other takes off the hook. Who reaches over the boat with both hands to take off the hooks over the water on a five to six pound bass for a 100K? FLW at Sam Rayburn, Kyle Cortiana catches 29 fish in 29 cast, when he catches a six pounder to cull he clearly had six fish in his livewell already but doesn't say nothing to the officials. Like the bassmaster at the Delta I played it in slow motion several times, Kyle definitely broke a rule but didn't call it in that is cheating. The other two, you make the call lol

There was a guy named Robby Rose who was stuffing weights and got caught. He had won a large amount of cash and a boat I think. He got busted at a Bass Champs tournament.

Here's a probable contender for you. Look up Claytor Lake Va. Brett's Big 'Ol Bass Event. He ended up weighing in an 18 pound limit. Then was confronted and punched the person who accused him of cheating. Allegedly, was videotaped pulling bass out of a cage. No tape has been seen by the public as far as I know. He refused the mandatory polygraph and is last on the roster with five fish for Zero weight. The story says law enforcement took him away in handcuffs. The same person won the same tournament in 2020 and a week either side of that win won a Big Bass Tournament on nearby Smith Mountain Lake. Look up the story on Claytor Lake it's a fresh one.

None, their names shouldn't be remembered, but their deeds should. The names, of the people that reported them, should make they honors. I have fished, local, and state tournaments, for 40 years. The closest, I have come to cheating, was having, more like wishing, Bill Dance, Larry Nixon, Hank Parker, KVD, or Wheeler, being my partner, those days. I guess, that is more on me, then my partner.

What Mike did was not even close to the worst cheat. It's only because most have heard the name over the years. But really look at what was the actual CHEAT. 1. Transporting fish from other water 2. Putting fish in totes, starving them to throw a jig in a small whole and catch it. 3. Tying fish (I assume with a stringer) off to pilings and coming back during tournament 4. Putting weights or anything inside fish. 5. Snagging fish outside the mouth. 6. Altering measuring/weighing devices In a blind choice with no names. What order do they go?

Tony Christian by far the biggest cheater. He won the all American and flw tour tournaments. Somewhere there are guys who would have won 100k in those tournaments who ended up in 2nd place. I wish someone would do a deep dive documentary on him, how was he doing it, where is he now, exc. I hate how FLW kept it so quiet.

"In March 2005, Kerr and Long weighed in a five-bass limit that set a daily catch record for a five­bass limit, weighing 38.57 pounds, in a WON Bass tournament on Lower Otay Lake. Although Long claimed credit for the catcFor example, we should have been skeptical that practically all of Long’s big bass were caught while he was fishing alone. Ellis first became suspicious in 2010 when Long wanted him to produce a video series but wouldn’t let the photographer go along to video the catches. “I’ll call you when I catch a big one and we’ll ‘recreate’ the catch,” Long told Ellis. Ellis declined the offer." ... Ellis finally filmed him in 2019"

Tbh, I'm not quite sure I like the direction that this channel is going towards lately. At first, it was nice to get objective information (as well as your personal opinions) for news that were currently happening in the fishing industry. Now, it seems like you're just digging up dirt on people that hardly one is talking/asking about and creating an environment that will likely cause more negative buzz on folks that want to just move on from some of their past mistakes. I'm not saying these guys don't deserve punishment for their cheating, but relitigating these unwilling participants just for clicks...not my cup of tea. Same with the Over or Under Rated series. You are not telling the whole about Mike Long, which will land you in county. Remember, Keller Ellis, Buck Buchanan, John Kerr, and more not only fished team tournaments with him but also took cashed their half of the winnings and took pocession of the trophies. Not only that, many won angler of the year awards with him, and even multiple ones at that. Interesting that many of them no longer fish tournaments as well. What about the Heigels snagging incident on video by Mike in 2005? Get the whole story together first.
