Another one of the great British bands from the 60's. Their biggest hits were "She's Not There", "Tell Her No", "I Love You" & "Time Of The Season". Some other songs by the group are "Woman", "I Remember When I Loved Her", "The Way I Feel Inside", "I Can't Make Up My Mind", "I Don't Want To Know", "What More Can I Do" etc. Their 1968 album Odessey & Oracle is really great!

SO excited to have stumbled on this reaction video! I am also a HUGE Zombies fan - I had their 4 CD box set "Zombie Heaven" that includes their later experimental stuff. Colin Blundstone's voice is without equal among the British Invasion bands, imho. Rod Argent rips that organ solo up like no one else. I love the 3 part harmony and the unconventional chord progressions. So much going on in this music. Slower jams that are also worth checking out: "Beechwood Park", "This Will Be Our Year", "A Rose for Emily", "Imagine the Swan". Other great tracks besides the ones mentioned in other comments: "Sometimes", and a great remake of "Summertime" in 6/8. Enjoy!

Dude, that really is a jam and I had forgotten about that song and I love the way that you were listening to it. But dude you have to check out their other song that was a huge hit, season for love, or Time of the Season or something like that. It's got the same Groove but it's a bit longer and it's actually one of the sexiest songs you will ever hear from that era and yeah man it's the late 60s. I would have been in probably kindergarten at that time, laugh. It's got all these great bars in it I am not kidding you man.

Easy clues to dating songs and videos 1) Black and white - pre-1970's (very few people had color TV's until the 1970's so programming was in B&W) 2) Lots of synthesizers, nehru jackets, broadly striped pants, and Go-Go boots - mid-1960's and a bit in the early 70's 3) Story/folk songs - 1970's and earlier 4) TV show stage and/or a host announcing the guests - pre-1980's 5) Really cheesy color video that almost seems like a parody or doesn't seem to have anything to do with the song - Early 1980's (MTV was the start of music videos so everyone was figuring out this new genre) 6) Disco - 1970's (obviously) 7) Cheesy skit where the artists interact and then break out into song - 1970's and before (an excellent example is David Bowie and Bing Crosby singing Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth on Bing's Christmas special)

"Time of the Season" was a kind of pivotal song for the group and the 1968 Album mentioned in the post below. This was on the cusp of the LSD era. So as time goes by you hear more and more mind-bending instruments and sounds, tech-no sounds, fades and the old ear to ear or speaker to speaker change ups. It was the 'trippin time of the year, man.

A great song by a great group. This was released in September 1964. Horribly underappreciated, the Zombies approached pop music with a jazz sensibility, whereas, groups like the Animals, Stones or Yardbirds did blues covers. Speaking of covers, Santana did an extended version of this song with a Latin flavor and a drum solo. Vanilla Fudge gave it a trippy psychedelic workover. Often, with complex harmonies and arrangements, the Zombies had a hard time with success, when that success was driven by sales of singles. Others have mentioned their othe huge hits, Tell Her No, and Time of the Season (a song that wasn't even a hit until the year AFTER they broke up due to chart frustration. I say give those a try, along with Indication, I Love You, This Will Be Our Year, Care of Cell 44, Maybe After He's Gone, or If It Don't Work Out, Brief Candles or their weirdest single, Butcher's Tale.

Great Reaction! When a nearly 60-year-old song can elicit that kind of instant reaction in this day and age, you know it when you hear it. Back then, believe it or not, there was a time when people thought this might be a Beatles song, give The Zombies their due (no wonder they make movies about them). Strike while the iron is hot and listen to Time Of The Season, another play lister!

You can see by previous comments they have a short list of 5 or 6 really good songs. I myself was in high school in the sixties and this group was one of my favorites due to those half dozen songs. Open and shut, they simply were different, with a different sound than most of the other British invasion groups. Bottom line is they were different but a good different and I have memory of some of my 1st loves and that group. What I will add is that there was great expectations of there becoming one of the super groups were at least in the minds of us 15 16 17 year olds. But the music industry being what it was and is it never came to fruition for any of a number of the usual reasons. Anyway sure was great being in my teens and early sixties in those late sixties and early seventies! Looking back at those great years on the great music is one thing but haven't lived through it at the specific age that could be appreciated cannot be understated.
