I'm convinced that triceps make bigger difference than biceps when it comes to arm size. Not saying that you should ignore biceps, but if you want larger diameter, hit the tri's more. Skullcrushers and overhead tri stuff makes for big arms. or just lift weights for 20 hours a day and you're good.

For good quality arms, do it both. High volume is excellent for joint and tendon health and even for the growth of muscle. High resistance in compound movements however also works very good, because it stimulates growth better (this is why people say deadlifts increase testosterone, because it incorporates virtually every muscle at high resistance)

Brian didn't know what to say, but when you are doing a Farmer's Walk, and you have your traps, lats, shoulders and triceps, along with your core and lower body, having all those posterior muscles pulling your elbow back gives you quite the stretch. Same thing in weighted pull ups, and safer, because the bicep doesn't initiate the movement, but it finishes it. Eccentric super overloaded. Bought a chain belt and got a response same day. DOMS wasn't delayed, it was OMS

He explains everything that happens in your body when doing weighted pull-ups (or chin-ups) and he comes to the conclusion that doing sets of 5-8 reps pull-ups with extra weights (weights that you can perform max 8 reps) is the best way to go. And he goes really deep on the specifics why.

Focus mainly on compounds, if you want, do additional arm work. Compounds are more bang for your buck. Arm days and high volume arm workouts are useless for natural lifters, and before you disagree with me, cite a study that says there’s any benefit to isolation work

You can't isolate anything, but you can emphasize specific muscles. The brachialis is always going to work if the bicep is working.

Yeah, brian seems to think that because you can do weighted pull ups with more weight that your bicep is under greater load, which isn't necessarily true. For instance, think about bodyweight pull ups at 180 lbs versus curling 45 lbs dumbells in each arm. Despite the dumbells being half the weight, your bicep is going to be under more load as your back takes a large amount of the bodyweight

there is no right or wrong way, both simulate the muscles to grow, bodybuilding is through isolation exercises, while the other is thru heavy compond exercises, the important thing to do is find which you enjoy doing the most and stick with it.

You know there is science ..emg activity studies etc that prove compounds don’t at all illicit the greatest muscular activity.. to each their own but as far as growing fibres and hypertrophic response- isolation movements are mostly king.

Lidget though, genetics are the answers. People build arms differently but get the same gains. It's just genetics.

You can actively concentrate on switching from torso to arm dominance and vice versa. I used to be super arm dominant now i sort of have the opposite problem so find a balance

@@stephen8996 what?
@stephen89965 жыл бұрын
@@melsoro7311 torso or arm dominant doesn't mean that your arms or torso is longer than the other. It means that is the muscle group you use the most. So during bench for example some are arm dominant so triceps will take more of the load, some are torso and chest/shoulder will take more of the load. It's a subconscious thing that you can change with concentration and effort

I know this is an old ass video, I have no creditionals, and I'm probably half the size of these guys...but juji is right. Compound lifts are great for bulking in general; especially for beginners..but if you want peak the amount of growth for a particular body part, you do need to isolate.

When 8:30 came around, my thoughts were on the application of the routine of choice. The “Strong man” is more dense, “smaller” bicep size, “Body builder” is larger in bicep size but is “lighter”. So I imagined that the body builder is more “bloated” muscle, while the strong man has muscle weight under his belt. So application wise, I think I’m going with the strong man because there’s more real world applicable use. The body builder physique is for going to muscle beach and showing off, type of appearance....not saying there’s no real work put into it, but he focused on getting swole, instead of the “mass” portion of it all. Does this make sense?? Idk, just my thoughts
