The reason he can die, in terms of code: Things move by instant movements in very shall increments with shortdelays, so it looks smooth although it technically isn't. Cosmic Ronald most likely has a certain invisible area where if any of him touches it, he teleports to the other side. If with enough damage and knockback he has such a large movement per tick that he actually doesn't enter the special teleport area before also hitting the out of bounds hitbox, he will technically gets teleported, but he also dies at the same time.

There is no "legitimate" way to beat Cosmic Ronald because Cosmic Ronald is not a legitimate character or a legitimate challenge. There is no such thing as cheesing the cheese. Use the Dark Souls mentality: Exploits and cheap tactics are allowed and encouraged, because you are expected to use EVERY tool at your disposal.

the three holy knights couldn’t beat the cosmic tyrant, so the tyrant continues his rampage until he meets the elite 3 foxes but even they couldn’t beat him, until HIS arrival, god himself (aka Duane) sees that his best warriors have failed him so he must take matters into his own hands. They meet in the sacred battlegrounds only to finally duke it out in the ultimate battle. The tyrant said “your divine powers don’t affect me for I’m invincible” while proceeding to taunt him afterwards. But little did he know that with one hit with enough knock-back force it would end the tyrant in one foul swoop. So without further ado god himself gave all he could and a bright light sparked from god turning everything white, later the bright white light fades away and we see the cosmic tyrant on the floor, defeated, truly his power hungry needs lead him to his utter demise And peace was restored.

I think that it works that when he enters the blast zone he makes a trigger that teleports him to the opposite blast zone. So if you can knock back him through the whole screen after knocking him into the blast zone in one frame, you can put him in the blast zone without the trigger being activated so that he can’t tp out of the blast zone thus being ko’d.
