He is distorting the facts quaid wanted to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state. The far cry before partition was Pakistan ka matlab kia la ilaha illalallah. My mother at the time of partition was thirteen years old and she vividly remembers the emotions and sentiment at the time was that we want a separate nation where we would spend our lives according to Islamic faith. This was the essence of two nations theory and also the spirit of allama Iqbal’s dreams. He is talking nonsense how can you spend your lives according to Islam if the way of life is unislamic and laws are against islam. This bastard was I believe in ZAB’s cabinet as well and was a commie at the time

Mehdi Hasan was a legend (probably a younger brother of another intellectual, Dr. Mubashar Hasan, an old-good-time PPP stalwart.mnow we only have tat poonjias left in that camp). I hope we do not lose Sayyidah Zahra too soon, she is another legend belonging to the same category we can genuinely take pride on. Why are there so few excellent educators and thinkers in a Muslim country of 220 m people? A sad commentary on the state of Muslims in general and the Muslims of the South Asia in particular.

Dear I totally disagree with this gentleman,Pakistan was proposed on the basis of two religions theory that is why Sindh Assembly passed bill to join Pakistan and left the option to remain and independent state with centuries history.After declaring Pakistan as new country ,Qusid e Azam was surrounded Zafrullah Khan who was Qadiyani and many others,unfortunately early death of Quaide Azam created gap of leadership further due to Assassination of Liaqat Ali Khan and Qadiyanis loby strengthened their position role which was major cause of fall of Dhaka.Bhutoo got Pakistan with half area and unhappy provinces,he made constitution giving confidence to them.Bhutto in new constitution made Pakistan as Islamic Republic and Covered Conference of Muslim heads world over in Lahore when whole Muslim world supported Pakistan to survive from next Indian attack and 4 years gave country Nuclear technology to war torn country.And today s Pakistan is safe due Nuclear Deterrence.Just review after fall of USSR ,USA directly attacked Afghanistan,Iraq and Libya and none other had Islamic Constitution.Syria and Yemen too don't have Islamic Constitution.Its matter thinking only .We are proud being Muslim and Pakistan as Islamic Republic.
