You don't know what you are talking about. One of the main grounds for an early split between Kenyatta and Odinga was the shabby manner in which Mau Mau and other landless Kikuyus were being treated in post-colonial Kenya. Mau Mau was defeated militarily mainly through the contribution of Kikuyu homeguards. That phase of freedom struggle was converted into a Kikuyu vs Kikuyu intra-tribal war, a tribal civil war of a kind.

That's romantic thinking. The majority of Kikuyus were particularly uncomfortable with Mau Mau. It was a choice between a rock and a hard place for most ordinary Kikuyus. Either side with Mau Mau and face the wrath of homeguards and their colonial masters or stand against Mau Mau and face them. The majority stood against Mau Mau, and Mau Mau lost both politically and militarily.

Some people would have never wanted you to know about Kimathi...They wanted his legacy to die with him but Alas, his charismatic and astute leadership qualities had crossed over the continent where it could not be stopped. He should have met another young versatile man by the name Mboya. But young visionaries that threaten the world order are extinguished very fast to kill any uprising of different fair idiologies. People like Thomas Sankara ,Tom Mboya, Dedan Kimathi are never allowed to live on sadly.Amazing young Men this greate continent missed.

Let me hit the nail on the head, the Kenyattas and Odingas, those were the ones who wanted to Extinguish that beacon of light that was shining bright during those days, and today they have benefited from the back of the misery of those who truly Liberated our beautiful Nation called 🇰🇪
@georgeodhiambo598

@@suleimansantur248Stop lying. It is the homeguards from Kikuyuland who had an interest in suppressing the legacy of Mau Mau. In any case, that part of the struggle was basically a fight between Kikuyu Mau Mau's and Kikuyu homeguards fighting under the leadership of colonialists. Stop dragging Odinga into Kikuyu feuds. And Mau Mau didn't liberate any part of Kenya. They were completely suppressed by Kikuyu homeguards and their colonial handlers so thoroughly, such that the State of Emergency was lifted in 1957. Mau Mau was completely ineffective by 1957. Independence came in 1963. Wacha uongo zako. .

Kenya must begin to teach the true history of Kenya to its youth. This way they will grow up to respect the truth of the nation. @@johnwafula4038Exactly my thoughts. People paid a price for raising issues that were seen to be rocking the Kenyatta boat and at those times, most Kikuyu multitudes firmly stood with Jomo Kenyatta. Come on! Stop spreading senseless rumours. Kenyatta was jailed in 1952 for 7 years. Thereafter he was confined to house detention for another year or so. Kimathi was captured in 1956 and hanged soon after in 1957, while Kenyatta was still in prison

@@wallacemunywa2507 Have you even understood my comment? The story is scripted in English and I have responded in English. Is your questionable understanding of English language the reason why you are commenting so irrelevantly? Get someone to translate for you both the story and my response before you start responding with stupid comments. Be relevant. You may wish to change the narrative but the truth is stubborn. Kimathi was hanged while Kenyatta was still in jail. That's a permanent record in history despite my strong dislike for Jomo Kenyatta. And stop lying here. When Jomo Kenyatta led in spilling the blood of Kenyans in post-colonial Kenya, and stealing national resources, it is fools like you who backed him up and partook of some atavistic Kikuyu oaths to cement Kikuyu unity against the rest of Kenya. History is stubborn. I don't give a hoot about Mau Mau but the truth cannot be covered up for ever.

I’ll tell you who failed Kimathi (and his widow): Jomo Kenyatta Kimathis widow is still alive or has only recently passed away. She never got a piece of land which was what the Mau Mau people fought for, too. That was the “First Betrayal” by Kenyatta

You are utterly wrong and thoroughly confused. Kenyatta married his British wife when he lived in Britain for 15 or so years with hardly any break. Second World War was fought with Kenyatta not stepping out of Britain You don't have to be bribed to get a wife to keep you company during long moments of solitude in a foreign land. Many Africans who went overseas at that time, for even shorter periods, married Caucasian wives while they were residing there.
