Abaddon (Apollyon) is an angel of GOD who came down from heaven (Rev 8:2) to earth on the day of judgement, and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit (Rev 9:1). Abaddon is the fifth angel that sounded the fifth trumpet that caused the star to fall from the heaven unto the earth (Rev 9:1)(Rev8:6). He is the angel who is king over the locust (Rev 9:11) that came from the bottomless pit (Rev 9:3). The locust were commaded to hurt only those without the seal of GOD in their foreheads (Rev 9:4). Abaddon DID NOT come from the bottomless pit, he came from heaven (Rev 8:1-2). Only the locust came from the pit (Rev 9:3). Abaddon is the king OF the bottomless pit, not the king FROM the bottomless pit (Rev 9:11). He is the angel of GOD who came down from heaven and bound satan with a great chain and put him in the bottomless pit for 1000 years (Rev 20:1-3). Abaddon is NOT a demon of satan but an angel of GOD who carries out the will of GOD (Rev 8:2&6). He is the 5th angel among the seven angels who were given trumpets in heaven (Rev 8:2&6). Abaddon is the angel of GOD who holds the key to the bottomless pit, and he and he alone opens and closes the bottomless pit (Rev 9:2 and Rev 20:1&3). His name in Hebrew tongue is Abaddon but in Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon (Rev 9:11). Abaddon aka Apollyon is the same angel, NOT two individual beings.

It's actually unclear in the bible which side Abbaadon is on. All of what we truly know of him is that he's an angel who is also the king/leader of the locust army. To me, a safer interpretation is that this might be an evil angel. Just because he's not called a demon, doesn't make him a good angel, here's why: angels can shiftshape and embody a physical and spiritual form. Demons however only have a spiritual form and are only able to inherit a living body because they cannot embody a physical form like angels do. All demons are is fallen angels who rebelled against God. However, some beings perhaps have fallen greater than others while other angles (possibly evil) are meant to carry out their roles if God allows it for his divine plan. So in other words, if Abbadon is an evil angel, God is still using him to carry out his goal of divine judgment on the earth. He's letting thos locust army torment people as a way to get some people to repent and live for Christ. Abbadon's Greek name, Apolyn, means "destroyer", the opposite of what God is, a creator. Not to mention, from when I read this passage in revelation, he didn't sound like he's an ally of God's. It's not confirmed if he's the star that was given the key to the pit either. It's a debatable topic. Some think it's Satan, others think it's Jesus, others also think it's a good angel, but it's not really said directly whether Abaddon is good or evil.

Revelation 11:7 identifies the Beast as the one who ascended out of the bottomless pit. The one who ascended out of the bottomless pit just two chapters before this was Abaddon. So Scripture does indeed tell us that Abaddon is a fallen angel.

Abaddon/Apollyon is the BEAST aka the Antichrist, this is made clear in Rev. 11:7 It describes who kills the 2 witnesses after they have finished preaching the everlasting Gospel in Jerusalem. "And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them" Whether Abaddon who is called "a king over them, the angel of the bottomless pit" (Rev.9:11) appears on Earth in is natural form as an angel, or if its his spirit that possesses a human man remains to be seen! Either way, we know who the Antichrist/Beast really is! Amen...

Have you ever considered that the star that falls from heaven is the Angel of the bottomless pit? That he's of or over, but not from. Who is the Angel of hell? Perhaps something worth pondering.

@@GraceDigitalnetwork as the scripture explains that the angle abaddon is given the chain to bind lucifer as well as the key to the abyss and is charged with overseeing the imprisonment of Lucifer For 1000 years. Seems contradictory to some peoples idea that he is a demon and in the employ of Lucifer. It has always been explained to me that abaddon is the personification of gods wrath and punishment. A necessary destructive force used by the creator to bestow his judgement upon the wicked.
