The thing about BTS is they know their hip hop history. They came up in the underground and then They have studied with the god fathers of hip hop in the U.S. They know more than most American rappers about the history. You should watch a live hip hop performance such as the Cypher Melodies. You should also watch a video called BTS - ON Commentary - Dialogue. You may know some of the producers in the video. It's an excellent back ground video.

Korean age is different because, once you are born, they count that as age 1. So if you are 14 years old in America, you'd be counted as 15 in Korea
@em55224 жыл бұрын
Just wanted to add that everyone adds 1 to their Korean age at every new year (Jan 1) no matter when you were born, so people are either 1 or 2 years more than their international age. It's easier to figure out your own Korean age depending on if you had your birthday or not. If your birthday already happened, add 1 year to your international age. If you haven't had a birthday yet, add 2 years.

About bts songs. For what I have understood from all different interviews and the song credits etc. this is how they songs are made: All of the memebrs are constantly come up with melodies and lyrics, but mainly still RM, Suga and J-Hope. Then they sent their draft to mr Bang and their inside producers to get suggestions and improvements. RM said in one interview that its like a healthy competition, who ever figurea out the best line or melody, that is used. Then they also have some outside writers doing the same. And as they have gotten bigger, many famous musicians have also sent them songs, like Ed Sheeran. These first drafts then come to RM, Suga or Hobie and they start working on them. So its truly a very complex collaboration of many people that the songs are made. But RM has his hands in writing pretty much all the songs. He allways does these album reviews to fans in vlive and you can find those in yt also with subtitles. There he goes their new album though song by song and tells behind stories and thoughts of the album. Suga sometimes does the same, but he is more introverted so he isnt so wordly as RM. I will give few links below to their reviews if you have time to see behind camera. Their collabs with recent rappers include Juice wrld, rip 💜 and Suga has recently been seen in studio with Logic.

29:12 the BTS storyline basically revolves around Jin's character as we see a lot of it happening from his perspective. The storyline itself is crazy and a little complicated and totally not done developing. I'm sure Saywhatreacts is helping you with that part. I will also help in the comments and point you towards the right direction if I find explanations that are a little more grounded in facts than others as a lot of these explanations tend to be more speculative while others are based off what the boys have said, what big hit has said, and clues that were given to fans through their mvs, live performances, VCR footage and most importantly the notes that come with the albums and the Webtoon.

HERE’S BTS INFORMATION THAT IS AND ISNT MENTIONED IN THE INTRO VIDEO.... *BTS (BangTan Sonyeondan in Korean) which means BulleTproof Boy Scouts also known as BangTan BoyS* a seven member South Korean Kpop Group under BigHit Company, they formed & pre-debuted between 2009 - 2013 who’ve been friends longer but officially debuted 7 years ago with “No More Dream” on June 13 2013. Since the beginning they’ve gone through so much hardship to get to where they are and they can finally move to the next chapter of their journey with new music with new more mature concepts. *My biases are Suga, V and JungKook but I love & support the whole group.* Our Golden Maknae JungKook is a big brother(hyung) to Bighit‘s 2nd boy group TXT [Tomorrow by Together] it’s essential to them check them out and support them. They’re world-class global superstars who’ve travelled world making history, spreading love and positivity, breaking records even their own, long deep storyline and has three game apps under their name: SuperStar BTS, Puzzle Star BT21, BTS WORLD, etc. Also KEEP IN MIND THEY PUT THEIR SURNAMES FIRST and FIRSTNAMES LAST, for example Kim Nam-Joon reverses into Namjoon Kim and Korea goes by their own aging system instead just the international one, so when asians are born they’re automatically 1 years old adding a year to their original age which makes them unofficially older or around the same age as most people. None of them are related but they strongly considered themselves as brothers and even though Jin, RM, V have the same surname; they’re not related it just happens to be a very commonly used name. 40:53 J-hope is also a producer and yes Jimin is amazing as well. The thing is with BTS their dance line is constantly growing and evolving. originally it was only J-hope, Jimin, and jungkook, but in 2018 V proved himself and also joined the dance line. They are kinda unique that way. Same thing is true with producing and lyric writing, as each members grow, and show interests in different area they tend to gain more titles, there is nothing ever stagnant about the team. It is true though that J-hope monitors and helps with choreography and he helps manage stage choreography as well along with their chief choreographer son song deuk, if something doesn;t work because it is too hard to do while singing/rapping or if something feels awkward j-hope discusses it and comes up with new moves to replace whatever does not work, and that is after discussing it with the group as a whole, especially the dance line (Jimin, Jungkook, V).

27:16 For Jin you can also add lyricist and producer to his name as well because he has worked one songs for BTS albums, and solo songs for himself since the wings era and he has been more and more involved in the writing process as have Jungkook, V (came up with the melodies for hold me tight and so many other songs (produced magic shop, and always helps write the lyrics to his solo songs, and Jimin (who actually came up with the melody for blood sweat and tears, and produced on the new album and has his own solo songs that either completely written and produced or helped write (like his song Lie on the wings album). So bottom line is they all write, compose and produce for the group. It is truly a team effort.

You can watch the drama on Viki or Kocowa. Also, Jimin and J-Hope are both main dancers, and J-hope is also a producer just as RM, and Suga, JK, Jimin, and V are now starting to get more into writing and producing themselves, Jin was first scouting by another label but didn't think it was real. He can also play the piano, but he doesn't play that often anymore. BTS has an ongoing storyline within their albums. From childhood(teenage years) into adulthood. A life of trials, temptations, and chaos. A brotherhood lost to the cruel world that we live in. Trying to learn to love oneself. You mention Persona, and that is one of their messages. Please, dive into it, you won't regret it. It will be confusing, it a big dark web, but it's well worth it.

Yeah. RM is amazing. He’s been in the rapping scenes since the age of 13!!! At that age other older rappers were scared to go against him. He was BIG in the underground rapping world. He was that good. His underground rapper name was ‘runch randa’

I like how calm and focus you are in the videos and captions...coz not all digest the sincerity and importance of this video😄🤗specially to us ARMYs since pre-debut.

19:30 A couple of rappers from the underground scene were basically disrespecting them and giving them a hard time because they went over to be in a kpop group. Amongst these rappers, the most vocal one is a rapper named B-Free he is the one who called them girls and I'm gonna tell you this is one problematic man, not just when it comes to BTS, actually his career was already going badly when he made the comment and it just kept spiraling out of control after that. He's just one of those human beings who never grew up and never learn from their mistakes (I do not believe in cursing, and name calling which is the reason why I'm not doing it but he would fit some very colorful epithets if i'm being honest)

I know it's hard with his pauses people but if you get the time this dude really does put out some knowledge with his breakdowns and does appreciate the little things. He isn't trying to be a quick instant reaction.. If you get a chance try to listen through.

The ongoing fictional storyline of Bangtan Universe go way back since their early years and ARMY has been trying to piece everything together since then through their MVs, the notes from their albums, the VCRs during their live performances etc. It's hard to piece everything together without watching the MVs in order too starting with "I need You." ARMYs trying to decipher and theorize the fictional storyline for years until BigHit (their label) finally confirmed the actual storyline via their webtoon "Save Me." You can go slowly with your BTS journey and also check out an explanation /summary video of BU from creator XCELESTE. To get more in depth with BTS content, I strongly recommend BOOKISH THEORIES!!! She delves right into analyzing everything and connecting it to the literature and art that inspired BTS in the first place when it comes to their music production etc. 💜

32:02 the word 'seo' means cow in korean and the word 'song' retains its English meaning but when you put the two together it becomes seosong which in korean means Lawsuit so when cows sing it becomes a cowsong/seosong which means lawsuit.

You spoke really well regarding RM being between a rock and a hard place, between hiphop and idol fans, being called ugly, doubting who he was and making a decision to stick with it. I think what people forget is that in 2010 he was 16 (17 by Korean age) years old!!! He was 19 when BTS debuted. People see them so big and established for so long, and they forget they've been around for 10 years and they are still in their mid 20s.

There's a Korean rapper called TigerJK who is considered one of the "fathers of hip hop" in Korea. He collaborated a few times with RM and said that Namjoon changed his perception of "idol rappers or rappers of idol groups". His work and history is insane, in case you also want to check. (I'm just starting the video, but wanna to share it xD)

32:02 I am going to try and explain it but my Korean is not phenomenal (I am still learning), basically it’s a pun in Korean (well technically it’s a mix with English I guess). In Korean cow is 소 (so) and lawsuit is 소송 or Sosong (so - song, a cow which sings a song, so what is it called when a cow sings ? a lawsuit). The second one is basically the same, a group lawsuit is “단체 소송” or danchae sosong (this is the closer I could get in romanisation, it’s all about the prononciation -> dance so song - a group of cow dancing together I guess like a kpop group ?) so what is it called when a group of cow sing together, a group lawsuit! They are kind of very researched pun ahah you have to know korean to fully understand them, and once you do it’s 10x time funnier ! Thank you for taking your time to know more about them and listen to their music, your reactions are always nice to watch, I really enjoy listening to your musical input and experience ! I hope you and your family stay safe during these times ! You have my greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪! (Sorry for the huge comment 😆 I am also sorry for any language errors if there are any, English is not my first language!)

Warren G actually appears in BTS’ 2014 show American Hustle Life- you’d probably enjoy it. BTS travels to LA shortly after their debut in order to learn about the origins of west coast rap. This is what separates BTS from their peers- they actually took the time to learn the history of hip hop and pay respects to the genre.

I applaud you sir because your comment exudes nothing but kindness, openness and positivity. That's what the world need and what BTS stands for. Thank you again for your honest opinion and respectfull reaction. I'm older and have two sons. They are open to different type of music. In school a lot of their classmates didn't understand them for liking music that they never heard off. For example; Hawaii music, Country, Folk, R&B, Rock, Classical, Jazz, Blues, Symphonic metall, Metal and more. We talk about the different style's of music also why we like some and why not. Also always checking the background or where it originated from. Even if we don't like the same artist we talk about that artist with respect because, they all work hard the world of music is a very difficult world. I think it is sad that a lot of fans are hatefull towards the musicians that they don't like. Also if the media don't know something they are most of the time saying the most disrespecfull things or treat the person with dissrespect. A lot of famous and good musicians want to win Bilboard or Grammy's. I can understand that but, I personnely don't believe in it because it's so political. Oh, sorry for the long story but, what I was going to say is that I also learn from my two sons about music. I know about Kpop because of my youngest son. He knows the history. He explained to me too that in Korea they have to go in the military. That's one reason why most of the groups start at a young age and sometimes have a big group who doesn't perform at the same time. So when one had to join the military they can still perform. We'll, I'm going to stop now. I hope you were able to stay awake to read what I wrote. Take good care of yourself and your loved ones. Keep enjoying what you're doing. As far as I can see that's what you are doing. I can feel your positive energy. From The Netherlands

I’m looking forward to you getting more into the BTS rapline. They arguably have the best rapline in kpop. Other than BTS, MonstaX and Stray Kids’ raplines are also regarded similarly. Also what’s funny about Jin getting scouted after being seen getting off a bus... it actually happened twice. First from SM, one of the Big 3, and second from BigHit, a then-small agency. The first time it happened, he thought it was a scam and ran away like you said you would have done in that situation.

If I can add a suggestion, I think you would really like Suga’s mixtape “Agust D”. The album is very raw and honest, everything he talks about in the songs are about his personal struggles and him as an idol. Literally one of the best mixtapes I feel out of the group because I can resonate and find comfort through the words he tells. All the songs on the mixtape is a most listen too but if I could tell you the songs that I think you would like because of the lyricism and the story’s told, “The Last” m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/enPCcoNtebGEZtk “72418” m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmWWdKVseKyibqc and if you just wanna listen to his cadence I suggest, “Agust D” m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYrCdpyvnJmVnM0 “Tony Montana” m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6u7cn2YZslqjLM “Give It To Me” m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYvKlGRorrFoqdU But literally all songs on the mixtape is great and hopefully you get around to it someday!💜keep up the work, I’ll be watching 🙂❣️

I love this hour-long reaction. Lots of insights and saw real interest in the boys. Just some things I'd like to add: RM has a really high IQ (148), that is why he learned English by watching Friends. :D After taking the mock SAT-counterpart in Korea, he ranked in the top 1% percentile in the whole country, reason his mother was so against him being a musician. There have been talks that he also won a national poetry contest about Korean unification when he was very young. The figures he had in his studio are KAWS collectibles. Jin was scouted by SM Ent. (company that signed EXO and SHINEE) first, but thought the scout was a con. He came from a wealthy family so before debuting, he used to buy the other members food when they were low on budget. When they had their first major concert in Korea, Suga was so overwhelmed when he saw his parents in the audience that he broke down and cried. Eventhough JHope is always credited as a rapper, dancer and producer, JHope actually has a nice and stable singing voice which, fortunately, is now being showcased more. Aside from learning contemporary, ballet and traditional dance in his art high school, Jimin has a blackbelt in Taekwondo, also did Korean sword martial arts, and used to win dance battles in popping when he was in middle school. That is probably why he does most of the acrobatics and magic tricks in the choreographies and why his dance style is so unique - fluid, intricate, powerful and emotive. V was voted as the most handsome man in the world in a 2018 global poll. Fans call him CGV, meaning he looks so good it's unreal, like they were Computer-Generated. What's ironic is if you've seen alot of their pictures, V is always caught making funny faces. Before joining BigHit, Jungkook was scouted by 6 other companies but he signed with BigHit when he saw RM rap. In BTS' early songs, Jungkook rapped alongside RM, Suga and JHope. RM and Suga made the difficult decision to go mainstream not because they are sell-outs but because they both really felt they had a lot to say and wanted to reach a bigger audience. They are both very intelligent and empathetic people and if you become a long time fan, you'd notice that these people aren't in this for fame for the sake of fame or for the money. All the members, not just RM and Suga, are passionate about music and performing, are legit sincere in sharing their experiences thru their songs to comfort and heal fans, and are grateful for all the love they receive. Because of this, they have become a movement of change. ARMY will tell you that they have become better people because of BTS, which is probably hard to believe but it is true. That is why you will see passionate ARMY's of all ages, orientation, faith and race because their lives have been touched by these young Korean boys. IMO, they represent something that is good in this world, and we all want to support that. hope you get to know them even more so you understand how we feel. :)

7:31 That's MMA 2017 stage, the song is "Spring day." Don't miss the stage especially the intro, during that time no one knows the Love yourself: Tear album yet but all the songs name were on the projection of intro . 16:57 And 3rd style: "War of Hormones", "21st Century Girls", "Go Go" and "AMPANMAN" soooooooooooooo cute XD 21:53 About the wordplay, you can check the "DDANG" explanation video made by DKDKTV. They also did another explanation video for Ugh. That's deep too. 29:11 There are a lot of shots in MV which is only Jin in the certain room with sadness, such as I NEED U, I NEED U Japanese ver., RUN Japanese ver. those are the MV during the HYYH ( aka The Most Beautiful Moment in Life) era. Now I think the story line become Jin is the mysterious past and the JK is the one with a key to find the truth. 30:24 I think there were many Music Awards in Korea especially in the end of the year. What I can remember would be MMA 2013, MAMA 2014 and their first win on Korean TV show is in M! Countdown in 2015. 40:39 Except the leader, rest of them are ranked by age ;p RM(Leader, 1994), Jin(1992), SUGA(1993), JHOPE(1994), Jimin(Oct. 1995), V(Dec. 1995), JK(1997) 45:34 No wonder!!! XDDDD 53:27 Yes, Singularity is the intro of Love Yourself 轉 Tear album. 1:01:12 In Asia, some culture take baby as 1 year old when he was just delivered mean while it is 0 year old in western country. Then in Korea, no matter when is your birthday, a new year comes then you gain 1 year old. So take V as an example, V was born in 30 Dec, 1995 => 1 year old already. After 2 days it is 1996=> V is 2 years old, but in western country he is still 0 year old.

@@MONQTV Hope you like them. I just edited some mistake in my another comment in your another video, it should be MMA 2018 and MAMA 2018 in Japan. BUT I have to say, you will love MMA 2019 and MAMA 2019 for sure ;p Take your time, they have too much stuff to dig. If you get into story line and get so confused that you really need help, you can check the "BTS story line" made by "xCeleste" channel, she collected all the puzzles from MV, notes, VCR...ect. However, there is no clear answer. Bc once the answer is clear then the story will be limited to certain ppl only. The story is open for everyone even there are some main stream ver., but BTS still encourage ppl to have their own imagination.

There are other books you most read first if you're starting at the beginning. Jung theory is for the map of the soul series. I see you've already jumped around a bit. There's 3 albums for the younger years. Then 3 for their early 20 and now there will be 3 for these awakening years. By the way it's a Rm joint and Wallie got fixture. Big Hit lets BTS do their own thing. He wants them to do their thing. That's why they all participate in writing their own songs. They write about what they're going through. That artist said he would never apologize yet to this day he has 3 times. If you want to see the rappers go off you must see the cyphers they are something else. That's one of the things that makes BTS different the fact that the company has given them so much freedom to write the lyrics, music and produce. They have a say in everything they put out.

I actually watched it. I think I only reached to one episode though because of copyright they blocked it after it was up a few weeks. It was when they were taken in the van. But I did watch the whole thing. It was pretty interesting. ✌️🙏👍😁

this video is an older one, most probably from 2018. that 14M active fanbase number was taken from just their twitter following alone, which is just 1 platform. so even back in 2018 they had more than that number. but if we look at it now in 2020 their twitter following is over 25M now.

If no one has told you yet, check out American Hustle Life. BTS goes to L.A and gets mentored by Coolio & Warren G. They learned all about Hip Hop and it's roots.

15:46 The original line up for BTS were all rappers. RM, Suga and Jhope stayed. The rest quit or became producers. Then they added the vocalists later.. 12:10 - 19:04 that performance wasn't from the underground scene. That was one of BTS' concerts. I forgot which one. RM was a kid when he was in the underground. Fun fact: BTS was created because of RM. Bang Shi-hyuk, Bighit's CEO was that impressed by Namjoon.

Where I'm RM and suga in the same rap group in the underground? I can't remember if that was mentioned? 😁🕉️💙🙏🏾⛩️

@@MONQTVNope. Runch Randa (RM) was part of Daenamhyup. Some of the members were part of BTS' original line up. Gloss (Suga) was part of D-Town.
