Playing rugby in the amateur era was fun, especially the beers in the change room after the game. Rucking was allowed, shoulder charge was legal, we genuinely respected the ref as he used to play rugby and was old enough to be our grandad and still keep up with us on the field, punch ups were healthy. That was an era where rugby built character.

@@jdb9388 yep I think his mother is from Moataa. That Moataa 7s team in the early 90s I think 91 to 93 was stack with talent and Manu players. We had Michael Jones, Lolani Koko, To'o Vaega, Taufusi Salesa which was the coach and player lol. Also I think if I'm not correct Apolo Perelini or/and Junior Paramoa too. They went undefeated those years.
