It's worth mentioning there is a second titan with the epithet -metheus in Greek Mythology: Epimetheus, the Titan of Hindsight. Notable for being the recipient of Pandora who by accepting her as a gift from the gods (against Prometheus's warnings) brings the ruinous things stored in Pandora's Box into the world. One titan responsible for bringing fire and warning against gifts from the gods and one who accepts those gifts and thus brings ruin? Seems familiar

Interesting theory, but to provide a counter-argument for the whole "Their name is literally Metheus" thing: While yes, Prometheus is associated with fire, it is fire that he STOLE and gave to humanity, which seems to parrarel what the cane weilder did much more clearly. He stole the power of shadows from Them (who may be called Tenebrau now, idk), gave it to the ancient civilisation and then suffered the consequences. That's just my take on things tho, really enjoyed this video!

I explain it more in the next video since I didn't wanna just retread the ancients videos for this one BUT my theory is that the fire Metheus "stole" was from Alter, since it burns with a white glow compared to the shadow fire. So In a way, she still stole it :) I do like your theory too, however!

I personally think that the Fuelweaver is an entirely different character, and its super speculation and might totally be false but im going to try to quickly sum up my theory here, but just a warning its pretty tin foil hat, im not really too confident in it, although it does make sense to me I think there was previous worlds that the shadows have consumed, this is further strengthened by the recent enemies, the Heralds of Tenebrau, hinting that their people were consumed at some point But most of this theory comes from a single examination quote, Wortoxs to the Ancient Gateway where he explicitly states that he "hopped through it" I think the imps, Krampus, Klaus, Wortox and whoever the Fuelweaver used to be came from the same world, they escaped the shadows, some were mortally wounded, like the Fuelweaver, while Klaus was severely injured, losing his eyes and having his chest corrupted into a shadowy mouth that he keeps closed with chains to try and hold back the shadows consuming him this theory would make the Fuelweavers quotes still make sense, when he speaks of his hubris and the destruction of his people, hes speaking of HIS people, not the ancients, maybe he tried working with Metheus to stop history repeating itself, but he was ultimately unable to convince the ancients to stop their greed to take it even further, I even think that the imps magic came from shadow magic in itself, I think they had a way to refine it, make it even more powerful, think about it What do you see with the Ink Blights and some shadows after rifts are enabled? red, red shadows, red tatters, what color are the imps, red! and we know its not that way from birth, Wortox wasnt always red, and only became red after consuming Krampus' soul, and his power, his shadow power i think the 2 ancients are something else, they both got consumed by the shadows, that much is clear, and i think the Ancient Herald is definitely one of them, maybe the other is who Charlie was talking to in the Halloween update?

I love all theories! Anything can be true- the crux of my theory lays on the king knowing how to detach his soul and posses a random skeleton the survivors rebuild many years later, so don't about soundin too crazy :) I love this though! That there was an extra layer beyond the ancients- and even the fuelweaver itself: tall build, curved horns, odd numbered eyes do line up with this theory a tone :)

The most boring answer? It doesn't. It simply works this way because it has to under the limitations of the same mechanics. It's the same deal that despite Wx not having a physical soul can still turn into a ghost, which completely contradicts their character as a whole, but Klei is aware of that, and the survivors mainly poke fun at Wx for this. Wurt Shouldn't be able to respawn, or turn into a ghost for that matter under the same circumstances since she is just a playable merm who lives in the Constant. It just has to follow the same rules for consistency.

I personally prefer just using wood since I like the rustic cottage aesthetic- but intergrating other material types like wallpaper and possibly even stone is a good shot. Honestly it depends on what part of the base I'm working on, yknow? Maybe this house calls for wood, maybe this kitchen would be better off with a bright wallpaper and tiled flooring? Maybe this crafting room would be bussin with some stone brickwork! There's never a wrong answer :)
