It's not boring, it's the only way to educate some people in big cities what the countryside provides them .

I live in a major city. Work repairing farm equipment all them time. We also have a lot of “historic” farms (they receive massive subsidies and cannot do as many others have done by turning land into housing.) every school takes the kids to one of these heritage farms at least twice. My daughter who is 13 has been on 2 field trips thus far. She hated it and wouldn’t touch meat for about a month. The people in big cities are not ignorant to where food comes from, they just don’t care. As long as they can go to the corner store and buy what they need they couldn’t care less how it’s actually produced.

@@everestyeti LLLOL - the world is mad and sad, sad because of what the kids are missing. When I recall "hovering over" the rows of carrots, raddishes, peas, waiting for the first ones to be worth eating, wiping the carrot/raddish on my trousers, and biting into grit.....LLLLOL We ate the flowers of any brassica that ran to seed, and the white pith from inside the cut stalks. "You'll eat a peck a muck afore yer die" - my mother. Mothers these days - DO NOT touch dirt, ever, it will kill you! Can you imagine any kid cleaning a rabbit or pheasant these days? Thank you for taking the time to talk us non farmers through the process and how much of the animal actually makes it to the shop. I think everyone who watches your channel are the converted but the info you provide allows us to talk to others about the stress and challenges farmers have on a daily basis. If you can convince your butcher to go camera that would be great.

If people are squimish, shame on them. Everyone should know the history of food. If they don't like just leave. No one is forced to watch or complain. I grew up at a time where you grew, fished and preserved, or you starved. No food banks. We did not do the large animals like cattle but they were in the neigbourhood. Before I married my mother-in-law helped us to process a deer and said afterwords, "now you know how to do it, I'm stepping back". Best lesson she taught me. We have dressed many a deer almost for 40 years. Don't ask me to name the cuts, never learned them; don't care; just want my protein. I enjoy watching all aspects of farming, from a seed to butchering.

It is nice that you consider the more sensitive viewers. I think it's important for people to know what comes from where on the animal but not every modern soul is suited for that. I thought it was interesting to see what happens at the butcher. I was working in an artisanal pork butcher back when I was a teenager to get an extra buck and it works similar and different at the same time. We of course cooked (ham), salted, smoked and baked meat as well. The butchery is about the same though. Special breed these people ;)
