Multiple times she states they were holding her back from "true success". Camillie (because it's implied she was the one behind it) inadvertedly unleashed something much worse on Piltover later down the line than just a pair of Zaunite alchemists trying to perfect some healing formulas by trail and error.

As they died however, it was up to Renata to improve the chemical mixture, therefore the reason why it’s magenta-like rather than the ordinary green one. As she saw what it can do to people, Renata build her whole life around these effects present in her arm, robot colleague, and her industry itself.

Samira gets her guns from “Lani and Miel Munitions”, which is in Noxus and does seem to have a connection to the Black Rose. So it seems Renata’s influence may extend farther than we thought. Makes sense that the only gunmakers in Noxus came from Piltover /Zaun I suppose.

Man, Piltover and Zaun are getting such good story advances lately, mostly thanks to Arcane, but also to Renata. I love the "powerful individuals, political machinations and grand masterplans" thing the region has now. I always thought that was going to be Noxus, with the whole Black Rose being the Illuminati of Noxus thing and Swain's coup, and how they are also tied to other regions, with Cassiopeia for example. I can't help but feel like other regions are kinda falling behind. But I guess with the new Void event there will be significant advances in the lore of the Void, of course and Shurima. Anyways I think Piltover and Zaun are quickly becoming my favorite region. Up until Arcane, it was Targon, kinda because of the same reason, the whole "gods playing with mortals to fulfill their wishes" and the prospect that there is a huge war coming, with the Lunari becoming empowered because the moon also is, but Piltover and Zaun are just so interesting. Maybe it's because the political side of things and how that side of the story is progressing is well established in a lot of fantasy media, but they are executing on it so well.

if you come from arcane and dont know much about the rest of runterra: piltover and zaun will prob be changed heavily in the mmo if you come not from arcane: they will do it like they always did, make up something new and if it works just retconn stuff to make it fit more. the mmo will probably be neither canon

I don't see why they would have to change much. Both of the technologies are born from magic sources, Hextech being made from magic brackern souls and Shimmer/Chemtech being made from the Void and void corrupted beings. The aesthetics may be different but they still fit in pretty well with the other regions. And its not like Shurima or Bilgewater don't have marvels of engineering and technology. Demacia may be the outlier but its by that regions design, they are supposed to be generic medieval by design.

I think that purple substance she used is totally shimmer and Silco may have been working under Renata as the lore says that she turned her enemies into partners. She may have used him to sell shimmer. Maybe we will see this idea in the next arcane season but for now it may be only a teaser.

I love her realist and adaptive strategic mind set. She's useless at chem tech. So she uses her knowledge of business and experience from her parents being murdered to build a company while keeping threats in check by their own volition. She acknowledge talent and skill as a valuable resource, from personal experience. And takes their situation to recruit them. Her parents research is invaluable but finite. So she sparingly and strategically applies it in her decisions. Resourceful. She knows herself and her enemy. A good example of the art of war.

without mentioning it i still believe it is shimmer. i want to believe that it is a "show dont tell" situation where those who know, and many people know by now, that it is shimmer. taking into account what we have seen shimmer do in arcane alone, the giant clouds that cause the enemies to go into a berserk and empowered frenzy all point to it. granted that is giving alot of credit to the story team if that is the case. and if looking at the story for say... an in universe biography or story about the Glasc industry it wouldn't do well for the public imagine if it was known that shimmer is being used to treat the sick and injured especially in piltover. but once again, maybe i am giving too much credit, i just see it as a "lex luthor" situation where we as the viewer's know he is evil but he puts up the façade of being a man of the people.

Since shimmer was introduced in arcane (which was set in the past) maybe, chemtech and or the chemtech chemicals are refined versions of shimmer. Since shimmer had really bad side effects (like on jinx, viktor, warwick, etc) the medicine that renata's parents were working on was a form of shimmer but not pure shimmer. Because the chemtank in game has been shown in arcane and we know is powered by shimmer. But in same its still called chemtank. Thats just my theory though!

There are only two reasons I can imagine this is 1) They want to see the totality of both old and new fan reactions to the completed series, not just the end of Season 1, before what decided to write in or rewrite (my opinion: most of it. Caitlyn still gets her "C" plot, Ekko's parents are alive and Benzo is just a beloved mentor/uncle figure to Ekko instead of a replacement parent, and Jayce and Viktor just invent the Hex Gates and Hexcore, not all of hextech. The other changes or filled in blanks all stick.) or 2) They really don't want to have to commit to anything canon because they want to change the story to whatever marketing tells them whenever they get a whim. I'm sympathetic to the former, even though I will be waiting exceedingly long for that delicious canonization of my introduction to Runeterra. But the later will make me try and find Pyke's murder list so I can put Riot's management and marketing departments names on it.

It's just so silly to me that they're expanding their brand in such a blue ocean approach while simultaneously maintaining entirely different versions of the lore in their main products. People who don't play video games or even watch animated media love Arcane. It's just that good. She's an example that once you have a void it cannot be filled with anything. Even legit everything. It's a void. And she's built everything she has, because of it, without it she might be happy. But she might not have had the drive to survive in zaun without it. So it could really be the only thing keeping her right across the veil of death. When you aren't afraid of death, something gets taken from you during life, and than death becomes something you're okay with, allows you to void your mind and fears, takes risks or make sacrifices others would be afraid too.

I think Renata is a good main antagonist for Piltover&Zaun, she is interesting and unlike Viego (very much unlike Viego), she is actually threatening, I mean Viego is dangerous too, but he looks hilarious for a main antagonist (he really looks like a stripper). Her main goal is to get the control over the Sun Gates, these gates are similar to the teleport tower in Arcane, but they are just normal gates. Since Arcane is not canon, in the canon universe that teleport gate was never built, so it wouldn't be unlikely to see Renata in Arcane season 2, but there she wants to get control over that teleport gate instead of the Sun Gates. Though they really need to clarify everything about that show, maybe they will make it, or at least some parts of it canon, just for the sake of not confusing people who are new to the universe, nor people who know it very well

I'm so looking forward to the potential future set-up. That just brings out so many potential for other champs like Seraphine since her existence is literally just to "unite" PnZ. What if she's the only one immune to the Glasc serum due to her amplifier? She could probably the only one who can sort of "wear out" the effect of the serum since she can just use the people's song and get them back to their senses. I just hope she had a better bio though, literally nothing explained her powers. 💀

I believe it is indeed Shimmer or a more upgraded version of it and they (Riot) sooner or later will try or have to find ways to connect to the bigger storyline of Arcane and the lore of Lol in general. Her plans could go well and then Piltover and Zaun could end up under a semi-totalitarian tyranny of a company but if it goes without proper thinking,maybe some other more powerful sources could use these products for themselves (Void perhaps). Also in my opinion for Arcane no matter what people say even Necrit(with all the respect and love that I have for him and his videos) is not 100% to be not canon, based on other people's thoughts or many things that connect to the actual storyline. Arcane can both be connected to the current lore many times or the game lore can take and change stuff of the universe based on Arcane. So for me it is both (canon/non-canon) until proven otherwise.

Jax's lore is still my favorite (it may be his old lore by now) mainly because it pointed out that he legit went and joined the league of legends cause he wanted to fight legendary fighters and he almost got declined for being too good so he just stole one of their lampposts and said "ill fight with this then". I wish more champs had that "this is why/how I got into the league of legends" because jax's lore kind of implied that it exists in their universe. I like the how did you become who you are lore but it would be cool to know the why are you a champion lore.

The reaon I bring this up is I like to imagine why characters would be in league of legends and from a lore standpoint I cannot think of a reason for glasc. She is an entrepreneur that seems like she gets others to do the "dirty work" for her and she is looking to overthrow essentially the trade center of the world for profit and she isnt doing it with a show of force instead she is using deception. She is doing it under the table with her buisness. She dosent really have a reason to be in league if thats her goal and she dosent seem to be a fighter based on the fact that she has others do that kind of work for her.

Ya know I love Renata Because she really isn't completely evil, she isn't a good individual of course but she isn't terrible, she's something shocking you don't see often, a villain in league of legends who isn't completely a villain, she's cold hearted, ambitious, dangerous, but she has a heart, and she obviously has a heart due to you obviously knowing how much she misses her parents, and how much she does genuinely help people, she just kinda hates piltover and everyone in it lol

Yeah she's a really complex charcter and her actions are helping out zaun even if it comes from revenge, honestly I want her so badly to win like her motive isn't that selfish she wants to kill the nobles who murdered her family simply because they were helping zaun fully heal instead of reling on piltover's chronic treatments and they probably weren't the first zaunites who were murdered simply because they threatened piltover profiting from zauns suffering . It will even be interesting if Caitlyn tried to expose Renata 's plans but Renata reveal that the Nobel's she is targeting are people Caitlyn is trying to gather evidence about because they are doing illegal activities but use their status to protect themselves from the law it will be a really interesting conflict
