I think Ken learned his back flip because he was a varsity player of Sepak Takraw when he was in high school. This sport is like a volleyball, except, the players are only using their feet, knees, chest, and head to touch the ball. So basically, you have to perform different aerial flips in order for your feet and knees to hit the ball while its in the air.

And he was the spiker which requires flexibility and aerial moves😊

You can put "sobra" before or after. When it's used before a word, we add "ng" like "sobrang excited," and "sobrang fun." When used after a word, it's like a new sentence. Like "this is fun! Super!" "This is fun! Sobra!"

Just answering your questions from the reaction: 1. They are all based in the Philippines. Also, they are not housed together. There was only a time when they did live together because they were doing multiple concerts and events. And the Korean owned company was a small and primarily an events entertainment company. They only visited Korea a few times for events and engagements. Most events were in the Philippines. 2. Filipinos are very accepting of the LGBTQ+ community. From countries I have experienced they are the most accepting. Filipinos are not racist. I think, which is sad is that Filipinos are more critical of our own than others. The press con was more trying to break them to get some buzz. 3. Best way to say goodbye is to say "SALAMAT" which means thank you. Hope you get to discover more of SB19 and you'll appreciate why fans love them. Their individual stories are truly an eye opener which anyone can relate to. Credit to Cashual Chuck that you get to know a little more about the boys!

They are in the Philippines the whole time but went to South Korea from time to time to record their single. They catered to Filipinos but did some Korean antics because the Filipinos love the Korean artists.

Aurum is the name of their fandom when there was no official name yet. Stell or Pablo, I forgot which, said that they used to know each and every name of their fans because it was such a small group and they were the people who would always show up if they have guesting or events. That is why they incorporated Aurum in the official fandom name because they are so thankful to these handful of people who believed in them.

They lived and trained in the Philippines the whole time. Their company, ShowBT Philippines, is the Philippine subsidiary of the SBT Group..meaning they were managed by the Philippine branch of this Korean company in the Philippines. They launched as a Filipino group in the Philippines for the Filipino audience. They only went to Korea to record songs and perform in events, etc but not to train.

Ken was an athlete( whilst being an Architecture student ) Justin is a graduate of Multi media arts that counts for the editing and visual creativity, Stell has the voice of a stage performer, Josh is the attitude guy and rapper, and Pablo is a graduate of A. B. English( plus credits in Accounting) that honed his poetry in songwriting. These guys are NOT dufuses, they may not look typical of popgroups these days, but they got brain's and voices that bursting out at the seams. By the time they get tired of performing they can very well be music producers themselves Support our boys!!

Mahal = means Love ; also means Expensive Gusto = means "Love or like" Kita= means as You(referring to a person in front of you); also means "see" (pronounce differently) Kayo= being use for plural form(2 or more persons) ex. Mahal kita = I Love You Mahal ko kayo = I Love you (Ako/Ko=means "I") Gusto kita= I Like You Gusto ko kayo = I Like you all.
@kalakoh2196
@kalakoh2196 Жыл бұрын
And to add: When referring to an object, you use the term "gusto". And "that" would refer to something you're not holding or something not near you so "I love that" would be "Gusto ko YAN". "This" = ito or 'to so "I love this" would be "Gusto ko 'to"

29:38 The Philippines is pretty conservative. TBH, this media panel shocked me (as a Filipino) because I've always seen media people as a respectful bunch. I've never seen other Filipino artists debuting with such a hostile questioning before which only made me think that the media as a whole at that time was very resistant of having boy groups created under Korean guidance. The automatic reaction was they were copycats to KPOP. To this day, PPOP still has that stigma in the country.

@@530MAIDU Which makes it more admirable for SB19 to start breaking through past the PPOP community and they continue to gain momentum despite people's narrow-mindedness. It's now hard to deny that they have such a strong following in the country and overseas. Fr that debut interview to now being backed by one of the main TV networks and a popular news org, they've really come a long way.

To answer some of your questions (been an A'tin since 2020): 23:17 - They were Kpop influenced and was initially trying to appeal to those who like Kpop because of how big the industry is. This was their entry point/strategy that's why Get In The Zone sounds KPop compared to their current music. And being with a Korean agency, most of their music production, if not from Pablo, were from Korean producers because the company doesn't know any local (Filipino) producers who'd take them in. While we did have PPop, it wasn't as robust as JPop or KPop and SB19 wanted to infuse more of our culture to our current Pop music. They were the ones who actually started to label the genre PPop, it was just plain Pop under OPM (Original Pilipino/Pinoy Music).And even when they got viral, there was still a massive resistance from the masses from calling it PPop and even labelled them copycats. But personally, I saw and believed in their vision so I supported them early on. In Ikalawang Yugto (Second Chapter), introducing Pagsibol, that's when they started to shed their KPop influence and started producing with Filipino producers with songs like What? and MAPA. 25:00 - Because their music was produced in Korea, they have to go to Korea to record. But they mainly trained here in the Philippines. 30:00 - Filipinos in general acknowledges gender fluidity and most are accepting. The journalist who was asking is actually gay. I believe he was a tabloid reporter that's why maybe he asks like that but still, it made us so mad after we watched this after they went viral and vowed to never let the boys experience something like this again. They were still so professional. 37:27 - Mahal (Love) Kita (You). But there are other meanings for mahal and kita in tagalog. Mahal also means expensive, and kita (key'tuh) also means see. So phrases like kita kita (I see you) and mahal mag mahal (to love is expensive) exists in our language. Crazy huh? For "I love that" as an expression, we use "gusto ko yan" as translation. Gusto=like, ko=me, yan=that(item) or yon=that(situation) or siya (pronounced as sha)=him/her. We don't use "mahal' in that context because we usually use that pertaining to deep love in the context of relationships. We do say "Mahal ko yan" but it's a deeper meaning of I love that. Ok this is such a long comment. LOL!

No one taught Ken to do flips. It’s a typical hang out sessions for kids especially on the country side to learn anything. They learn it themselves like acrobat, swimming, dancing, singing etc. They must have just done it on a beach or grassy soft soil. I grew up like that too but I just watch on the side. Those fearless kids like Ken is one of the example. We don’t really have classes like that in the countryside and if we do, we can’t afford it, so we learn it ourselves. Ken was a varsity player for Sepak Takraw before.(its like kick volleyball) his position was a spiker (which requires acrobatic skills) that must be the reason why he jump so high. I have seen his clips doing some sports like table tennis, volleyball, basketball etc and he looks like a pro in it. This man can do everything. Hard not to fall in love. And I am very happy and impressed to know that you are gymnast. Casual chuck also made a documentary about Ken’s story. You should check it out too

34:40 It IS ACTING. Yes, our boys are actually also very very VERY convincing actors if they're given the roles they want. Few fans know about it, but that fighting clip was actually a promo Christmas video. You should watch it. Pablo and Ken were so convincing in their fighting scene that the others felt really worried if it had something real beneath it (because obviously that's not how these two are in real life). But no, Ken is overall a very chill person that you cannot actually make him angry even if you wanted, and Pablo cringes at the mere thought of being too egoistic and fighting. Despite both of them wanting to look angsty in every which way possible, they're babies at heart.

You can put "sobra" which functions as an adverb of intensity in either ways: In front of the adjective, but you have to add "ng" like: sobrang excited, sobrang happy, sobrang sad etc. After the adjective and a pronoun (ako-me) "Happy ako, sobra! Excited ako, sobra!" and so on. Thanks a lot for the RV.😘

Ken was a Sepak Takraw player. It's like foot volleyball but with badminton high nets and using a weaved rattan ball. And he was the spiker. Spikere are only allowed to use their feet to get the ball over the net and score points. The strongest spike is basically hitting the ball mid flip with your feet. Imo, takraw players need to be half-cat to excel. Because they need speed, agility and the ability to pounce and seemingly fly with those flips.

Yes, "Pinoy" means "Filipino". It's basically just a casual, non-formal way of referring to anyone of Filipino descent or to the cultures of the Philippines in general. I already mentioned this term before in one of my previous comments to your videos when I brought up Andrew E as being the "Godfather of Pinoy rap".

Sad to say, some Filipinos have Crab Mentality. When I watched these videos, I was really ashamed to see Filipinos throwing hate at these kids. At first, I was not a fan of SB19, but I am a fan of a hard worker. Eventually, I became an avid fan. I'm happy to see them getting all the acknowledgment and success that they deserve. If Filipino can support KPOP at some point, why not show love and support to our very own SB19? Who's vision is to help other Filipino artists to be recognized worldwide and to raise our industry.

I say this everytime someone wants to learn tagalog, it is a very hard language especially for a tagalog speaker to teach (without expertise of course). Nevertheless, I am so touched how you are now even eager to learn the language, it just shows how much of an impact SB19 has to people. I wanted to answer some of your questions but if someone else can explain it well, everyone is welcome! 0:30 You can use "sobra" both before or after an adverb/adjective but if you use "sobra" before a word you usually have to add "-ng" at the end like "sobrang excited" 1:15 I don't know bisaya that much but "inday" is pronounced with a short "a" vowel sound like how "day" sounds in diagonal (dayagonal) or dial (dayal). Lol. Don't know how to explain it well. 1:46 I think "taka" is like "kita" is a combined pronoun for "I/me" and "you" (singular form). "gayod" is certainly or truly 23:11 As far as I know, they were targeting the filipino audience not the korean audience. Although at the beginning of their career, they were following the korean way of promoting themselves because they are under a korean company. This was actually sad because they were trying to prove that they are a filipino band and are for the filipinos which is different from what the media/haters were accusing them that they are too "kpop" or korean sounding. 25:04 I don't know if they lived in Seoul/Korea for a long time. From what I know, they were going back and forth. They know basic korean (please correct me if I'm wrong) because of that, from learning korean songs during their training and of course being kpop fans themselves. 30:04 Philippines is a very religious country but I must say, being religious doesn't mean being kind or respectful to all human beings. But some Filipino media people are always accusing a lot of filipino artists as gay or closet gay. Even when most of the people in the entertainment industry (especially those working off camera) are gay. I don't even know why they are making this an issue! Anyway, although the LGBT community in the Philippines are very vocal and have a strong presence in the country, there are still people like this who are very rude which is, I think, like everyone else in the world. 37:14 "Mahal" means love while "kita" is a combined pronoun for "I/me" and "you" (singular form). "I" in tagalog is "Ako" or "ko" while "you" is "ikaw" or "ka" (in singular form). If you want to say "I love that", you can say "Gusto ko yan". "Gusto" means "like" while "yan" is "that". 59:42 Here when you say "Mahal kita/Mahal kita sobra" it's like you're saying I love you to a single person. When you want to say "I love you all" ("you" is in plural form) you have to say "Mahal ko kayo" where "kayo" is "you" in plural form. 1:00:09 "Goodbye" can be said in mulltiple forms. You can say it informally as "Babay!" (Bye bye!) or "Kitakits" (See you!) This was long but I hope it helps! Please correct me if I'm wrong. :) Also, I suggest you watch the ToniTalks interview and their interview with The Juans "KwentoJuan". I think that talks more about their individual stories :)

They were bullied by the local media in the past. They were called ugly and was judged,saying that they won't succeed.

Wow! You're learning Tagalog and Visayan dialect very kaayo! Congratulations!!! About the media press interviews, that's one basis of facing challenges which are far more worse than that of what is in this SB19 Story. But then again, SB19 made their way and social media people accepted them as who SB19 is. SB19 is simply they are: PPOP KINGS! and it won't be change anymore. They are etched in the face of Entertainment and Music History!

"Sobra"(very/over the top) is an exaggerated word that we use, u can use it before or after .. if used before a word u can add "ng" it will become "sobrang" like "sobrang ganda" (very beautiful) or just "ganda sobra" which still have the same meaning.. If u want to know about how the boys start their journey, I recommend u watch "Toni Talks with SB19" that interview inspired me a lot... Thank u for getting time to know the boys, Have a nice day, and welcome to A'tin fandom ☺️☺️ I'm from stellberry farm 🍓, Wyat??

They were staying and trained in Philippines. As they still have side jobs to provide for their family because they have only enough allowance from their training company. Sometimes they dont eat because they dont have budget. They just travel to Korea if there is an event or recording.

Mahal = Love Kita = You Mahal Kita = I love you (Added I because it comes from the person who said it) Mahal ko kayo mean I love you/I love you all ( Since 'You' can be a singular or plural term) When you say I loved it you can say Mahal ko ito, but mostly it can be translated into Gusto ko to (since I loved it is just an exaggeration of I like it)

Yeah sobra happy, sobra excited are correct but if you wanna do it properly you add -ng to it, so: Sobrang Happy, Sobrang Excited. Sobrang Mahal Kita isn't actually used and Mahal Kita Sobra is valid but if you want to convey the same feeling you just go Mahal Na Mahal Kita, basically mean the same thing and it's used more.

You can use Sobra(very) before or after. But I use sobra after if its an exclamation after a comma. Like "ang sarap, sobra!" For "it's very delicious!. You can also say "sobrang sarap"

From what I can tell -- or pieced together from many videos and interviews -- they must've started the training days with their Korean company in 2015/2016. They had no salaries but had a small allowance that was only enough for either food or transportation (not both). Their initial songs were written by Pablo and produced and recorded in Seoul. It seems Tatang Robin wasn't gaining much traction in the Philippines but he still had some clout and connections in Korea. Pablo studied Korean and actually found out about the auditions at ShowBT because his Korean language teacher told him about it. He doesn't speak it fluently but is said to be confident enough with it -- he wrote a rap song in Korean (plus English). Audience: They were catering to both Filipinos and Koreans at first. You have to realise though that Filipinos started lapping up Kpop and Kdrama then (and I guess even now). The Korean gestures and aegyo the boys were using were familiar ones to Filipinos.
