Been playing him since his release. 1. Monster champs are fun. 2. A low pick/ban rate means I am able to play him 99% of the time. 3. The greatest joy in the game, is when you steal baron or get double kill with his passive. 4. Even if your brain is smooth as silk, anyone can press 'W', stand still and shoot, and still get good results with a runaans and BotRK. However, since long range Max health shredding, combined with a challenger skillset can bring anything to its knees, Kog will always get careful adjustmens every 2nd year and that will be it. My experience as a Kog OTP; mind you a Silver/gold scrub OTP, but if the experience is of any help to you at all, it matters not from which rank it came: A) There are claims that Kog works well with enchanters. This is false: He works well with Lulu. Yes, she is an enchanters but makes Kog tanky. Any other enchanter will fail in assisting Kog. This is because the duo will be solely dependant on Kogs dmg output, but botlane has never seen as much CC as it does now combined with this amount of heavy lethality. If Kog dies, the lane has nothing, except a support that doesnt get why you can deal as much dmg as Jhin and play safe at the same time. Suggestion: Kog actually plays very well with Frontliners. Try teaming up with Nautilus and feel the difference between a Nami and a Naut. B) Randuins doesnt work on Kog anymore. It USED to make us survive 2-3 seconds longer against assassins, but Season 14 Assassins will tear you up anyways, and you will have a worse dmg output for it. You will now need 2-3 tank items to survive which means only about 2 dmg items in the kit. Suggestion: Movespeed is Kog's only means of survival. Don't be afraid of going both Runaans and Phantom Dancer. You only have a few seconds with your W to deal maximum dmg. You need to movespeed to increase efficieny before Shaco pops up and kills you in 2 backstabs. Kog isnt about survival. He is about trading 1 ADC for 2-3 of their champs before death. C) If your support is a roamer, the lane is lost. Kog works horribly with Pyke/Bard. Unless you are AP, you cannot clear the wave fast enough and the other duo will dive and kill you easily. Suggestion: I have none. You can ask your support kindly not to go Bard. It will not matter. They will go Bard, Question spamping you when you die and leave lane forever. D) Kog requires you to keep calm. You will mostly not make insane kiting plays early like some challenger spotlights, but will be pressured under tower from the sheer dmg output of an Ezreal/Lux combo. Keep calm under tower, take what you can get, maybe get a plate or two, but accept you are weakside. You will be farming a lane as best you can in the midgame until you get 3 items and THEN things can turn around for you. If you are about he explosive early Draven megadmg, do not pick Kog. Kog is about patience, which this game doesn't have. If you cannot pull this off, you will do as most wise people do, and stay clear of the champ in light of an easier solution like MF, Cait, or Ezreal. My points are not set in stone, and many would probably disagree, but this is what all my years of Kog has taught me. Your experience might differ, and that is fine. No two players are alike. Be safe on the rift, mute the chat, and have fun everyone!

Kog maw is literally my goat rn. This champion just carries evertime I pick him. A lot of big dumb juggernaughts in the meta is perfect for him

i love kog maw but its so outdated, not only he doesnt have a dash (not a big problem) but his passive is literally the worst in the game, and riot keeps buffing it like and doing nothing else cuz "hey we give him a pretty good passive movement speed buffs"... ap kog is more fun than ad...

Iv been playing him recently and you can play pretty aggressive early and trade 1 for 1 with your passive in alot of fights if you blow enemy bot flash. Its still kinda ass but useable.

jinx aphelios are bad kappachungus. Doesnt even make sense to say not having a dash in this meta feels bad because if anything the meta is movement speed reliant and every item just gives movement speed randomly. @@Dani-of2zu

I dont think you need terminus on kog until way later. Runans is just better third. Your Q already shreds resistances and terminus just doesnt really give value until you are hitting people aoe. Maybe in certin games where you literally cant hit anyone but with lethal tempo, milio W, and kog W active you can for sure hit multiple people.
