Who is the Best Character So Far? - First Impressions of the Love and Deepspace Cast

I literally downloaded this game because I saw an AD of Zayne on KZbin but Rafayel made me stay and he became my favorite. Rafayel when he first came on screen (since he was the last mc to be introduced when Sylus hasn't arrived yet) I was so mesmerized by him, he had the coolest entrance when I first met the first 3 MLs that I almost cried when he walked away because I thought he's an NPC and that he's not special, my guy literally walked away while MC was talking so I was so glad that he came back when we were investigating about the painting. When you asked if Rafayel is being goofy on purpose I think the answer is yes, if you read his Myths and his anecdotes the man literally has the saddest and deepest lore in my opinion. Since most people doesn't read the anecdotes they always think that Rafayel is some goofy guy who's a romantic but his anecdotes surprised me when I started reading them like: first if you read the one of the main story (the world on the side )it will say on his anecdotes that there was a group of researches that was researching about the Civilization of Lemuria, they almost got lost underwater but school of lemurian Fish guided them to their place and saved them but Rafayel found out that they were ready to publish/disclose that Lemuria is real and where to find it. In the end of that anecdote it was heavily implied that Rafayel killed them (he was a suspect in the case I think) 2. if you read Rafayel's Anecdotes there was one assassin who was tasked to take out(kill) MC since she was in the wanted list of the N109 zone the assassin was called Raincoat and no one has ever found him or seen him that's how good he is well until Rafayel found him near a beach, took his phone and asked why is he following MC, he threatened to get rid of him and to keep the evidence so this leaves the assassin to tell him everything that MC is on the list for the N109 zone and that he was tasked to kill her, he also said that Rafayel is the 6th most wanted person in the N109 zone which left him disappointed because he was expecting to be number 1 (this guy for real) he then made a deal with this Raincoat guy to be a double spy for him and to leave MC alone. his evol also hurts him, he can't handle hot things (bcs he's lemurian) his main interface says the line as well "My Evol? of course it hurts it's fire" something like that Rafayel was the god of the sea, In the first timeline, Rafayel is the Sea God (not like Poseidon) of Lemuria, it's an advance civilization that lives in the sea. The myth is that he was supposed to be the last god of the sea because "their sun" is dying (they have their own sun that he even asked MC if their sun and Lemuria's sun is the same, MC replied no bcs our sun is very hot while Lemuria's sun acts like a light for them to be able to roam around the deep sea) he met MC when she was thrown away by pirates bcs they found out that she was a woman and woman are supposed to be some bad luck to be sailing on the sea and that the ship will be wrecked (if I remember correctly) Rafayel saved her, because he got intrigued by her, he saved her and when MC woke up she kissed him which gave her the power to breathe underwater and this actually made Rafayel capture her and bring her back to Lemuria. He also saw this as an opportunity to get a follower since he was supposed to bring a human that would be ready to sacrifice their life to bring back the dying sun of Lemuria. He has to have a human follower ready to sacrifice their heart. It ended up him showing her around Lemuria and hanging out this eventually lead him to fall in love with her, MC actually loved living in Lemuria and was ready to give her heart but Rafayel literally betrayed Lemuria and let her go it even stated in the Abyssal Walker card that "The God of The Sea lied to the deep sea to save his beloved" and this eventually leaves the sun to die, his people to die and eventually him and the civilization of Lemuria came crumbling down The main story is the current timeline, he is still supposed to get her heart to bring back Lemuria but if you know what happens 30,000 years later in the Abyss Walker myth the sea has literally dried up and there's only a few of them,even Lemurians are being gifted as some kind of pet to Aristocrats and this is because Rafayel continues to refused to take MC's heart he even erased her memory so that The Tome of The Sea God will change but MC still remembered him and this actually made Rafayel realize that no matter what, they can't escape this cursed thing between them, that's why when MC remembered him he's not fully happy about it

Even I love Sylus but for me, ranking someone base on the whole story, I think Zayne got the best winner because, from the stoic person and how his face look like concrete brick at the beginning and now he look more lively. He know how to smile, how to show expression/feeling for MC and I think a second one, I will put Sylus because the way he look at the MC from cold sharp eyes and now, I can feel Sylus now know how to love. Rafayel still with his brag attitude but sometim cute and there still has layer of mystery between him. same to Xavier, there still layer of mystery for him.

Sylus = Xavier for me. I started the game because of a picture of Sylus on Twitter. But then, immediately, started getting drawn in by Xavier. Like Sylus makes me wanna fight him (my friend says it's cuteness aggression, I agree but I think it's kinda slantways), but Xavier is just let's hang out and sleep (which I am so here for). But then Xavier's also a Wolf in Sheeps clothing, which wow, I'm kinda amazed I didn't see it coming. Zayne grew on me over time and his Anecdotes sealed the deal. My heart just feels for him. Not only that but he's so awkwardly cute and the dry humor he has is fantastic. Rafayel is last for me, very different from the comments so far. I love him as a character and he's adorable but I'm not into him romantically. He just feels too best friend coded (I've literally got his name in game as Bestie lol), and irl he would be my bestie. Having two irl friends that are, I wish I was kidding, almost exactly like him doesn't help. Also, this man is too dramatic, I'd have to bully him lmao.

even though rafayel is one of my favorites, i kind of agree with your rafayel comment. he's an interesting character and i love his funny banter with the MC however sometimes him and MC feel more like best friends than lovers. this is just my opinion though, i'm sure there are people who disagree.

rafayel and sylus definitely left the biggest impressions on me in the main story (especially sylus, his introduction was super intense and the best one for me personally) and they ended up becoming my favorites as well due to their personalities and their relationship dynamic with MC. of course once you do the romance part and dive deeper into the side content and lore, you’ll get to see more sides of each guy including xavier and zayne, they’re all great characters, but i personally am more into sylus and rafayel. antiheroes like sylus are usually my favorite characters and “hate to love/enemies to lovers” is also a favorite trope of mine so it’s honestly not surprising to me that i would end up liking sylus haha plus i also like funny characters like rafayel

I loved hearing your rankings! Mine are super similar to yours. Rafayel’s relationship with main character is my favourite. Super similar to how me and my husband are with each other with lots of goofs and laughs. Rafayel and Sylus are tied for first. Rafayel is who I’d go for IRL, Sylus is the fantasy. I felt the same way about Xavier as you, but now that I’ve finished the story and lots of his cards, he’s really grown on me. He’s so cosy! Second place for me. I could be fine if Zayne was just our doctor and not trying to date us. I find him overbearing. MC is an adult capable of kicking serious ass, except whenever I’m in a Zayne scene I feel like a child and I hate it lmao.

1. Xavier - was my type the minute I saw him. His appearance + voice was peak. I...tried to deny it at first lol, because I didn't feel anything special with him, so I tried to get to know the other two released at the time (Zayne, Rafayel). However, he is the only one I've cried a bucket of tears for. No one else is topping the list for me. 2. Sylus - I disliked him with a passion during my first meeting. But as the second chapter of "long Awaited Revelry" went on, and after going through his bond, anecdote and memories, it flipped my first impression of him. He's actually really soft with the MC, plus his mysteries intrigue me. 3. Rafayel - He was rude in my first impression. But after getting to know him, yeah, his goofy quality and child-like moments bring out the inner child with me. Before Sylus came along, he was second. 4. Zayne - Sorry my dude, I'm just naturally tense around doctors and hospitals. I don't have many good memories about my hospital visits. Is it an absolutely a great man to be in a romantic relationship with? I give you a green light. Which means good things. Not many Xavier stans in the comments? :O

We have the same rankings! Xavier for me was love at first sight, I love his gentle, quiet energy and his story for me is the most compelling. Then Sylus showed up and of course he's fun and interesting too, so I guess now I hold both their hands. Rafayel is funny to me; he's oddly 'human' in that I can literally imagine an actual human being with his personality LMAO. Zayne's just not my vibe at all (sorry to him, I still finished his forseer myth though)

Both are sad and I enjoyed them, so I'm getting ready for upcoming Sylus's myth (whenever that will drop) to come and make me feel sad too. Unfortunately as I've said, none of them made me cry quite like Xavier's did :')

sylus gives me strong cuteness aggression sometimes but i am deep in the sylus rabbit hole, i know he's dangerous powerful and dominant with his work life but im sorry his memories and even some small moments in his main story he just seems really gentle under a hard shell. i am not getting scared of a big bad guy calling me sweetie and kitten who genuinely loves and treats animals so softly, whatever you say bbgirl princess

Rafayel is the one who made me stay otherwise, the craze for Sylus dies down real fast for me although he was the one I started playing this game. Rafayel is unpredictable. He acts all goofy and the next second goes all suggestive and the way suspense is created around him and his lore is pretty captivating.

That’s what happened to me when sylus was introduced. It was a rush of fun and excitement, but past all of that haze, I was left with not much to linger on (maybe because there’s not much about him or cuz he’s basically all cliches and fantasies put in [im not gonna mention the kitten thing]) I saw what they were trynna do and I guess I wasn’t much sold cuz he seems a bit superficial at times. But with Rafayel?… damn, you really don’t know what’s come after, and for that, I think it’s the real fun of it

​@@JellyOnAPancakeAyyyy respectfully, i wish people would stop perpetuating this idea that sylus is a "superficial" character compared to the others because it's not only untrue but also if you really want to claim that sylus is full of clichés, you can say the same thing about all the other characters or the game as a whole. don't get me wrong, it's totally fine if sylus isn't your favorite! we all have our preferences and tastes. on top of that, compared to the others who have been in the game for longer, sylus doesn't have a lot of content and lore yet so he's still a bit of a mystery. however, even with the lack of lore, we can actually see a lot of his layers once we dive into his content. he does fit into certain popular tropes but is far from being "just a cliché" and "superficial". all the love interests fit into certain stereotypes and clichés on the surface level but once you dive a bit deeper, you realize they're all complex and well-written characters and that also applies to sylus.

before the game released, from the ads I would’ve said zayne would be my fav and xavier never caught my attention. when sylus was released he was more my type so I knew he’d be my fav. I started played end of aug and im so shocked that xavier grew on me sm that he’s literally my fav now along with sylus 😭

My ranking are similar to yours. Like Zayne and Xavier are tied. Both of them have grown on me as I have progressed with their anecdotes, 4 star cards, and world underneath. Second is Sylus. In my option the devs placed all on him since he came later on the game, there is still things that we don’t know about him. Rafayel is the most well written character out of the 4 for me. He has a crazy duality, and what you see is not what you get. He is effortlessly funny though, I do agree. Especially in the text messages. Once a I got one where he sent a voicemail saying “the owner of this phone can’t currently pick it up the call since his fingers are stuck on glue, he is currently waiting for a kind soul to come and help him, beep.” He sends the most unique and funny responses. But then there are other moments, like his anecdotes, where he is deadly serious and leaves you 😳. Pun intended. He still has his sassy attitude, but is like damn I am never want to be your enemy. This side of him you, will notice through the story, he purposely hides from MC. He does not want to scare her away. You should see his more recent trailer related to his lore, Rafayel: land of secret Flames. Anyway enjoyed your reactions 😊

My ranking... 1/ Sylus. He is quite the fantasy, I like enemy to lovers, the thrill and the banter. 2/ Zayne It's nice to have someone who cares for me, to know that I don't have to get it together all the time. He is a bit boring for a game. But he is rather calming. I don't mind the nagging. Probably who I'd go for IRL. 3/ Raphael He is fun, like you said and his lore is very interesting. He is a bit too whiny for me but he is full of surprises. 4/ Xavier He is nice and reliable, but very bland. He seems too perfect to be real. Flaws are what makes me get attached to somebody. (All the others guys have flaws and that's why I like them.)

A lot of the times, Zayne is misunderstood and people call him mean/rude. I recommend to read his anecdotes and if you have his foreseer cards, go through his myths. For me personally, I've loved Zayne from the start because as the eldest and only daughter in the family who struggled a lot, Zayne is someone who shows affection and attention through action the most and he may nit be very good with words as he's always been a quiet kid/introvert. Because of Zayne, I learn to take care of myself more, I learn that I don't always have to go through tough times myself and that he's there for you no matter what, and that it's okay to have someone care and pamper you. And to many, they think Zayne treats you like a child, but he just genuinely cares a lot for you because ij the storyline mc can be a but stubborn and not take care of herself and so on, if you het what I mean. When he was a foreseer, he was cursed by his god Astra and so he couldn't love the mc. He suffered in every timeline, even died in every timeline to save mc, become a heart surgeon for mc in present timeline, so it really shows that no matter what happens and in what timeline, even if in that timeline MC doesn't exist, he thinks if her, he loves her

if i had to rank them 1. sylus for obvious reasons , im ill everytime i think about him genuinely obsessed he's like a graceful feline predator top of the food chain, might be dangerous but he's still a big cat, i wanna pet him and bite him and squeeze him you know those videos of people petting tigers and such is exactly how i see him. also love enemies to friends to lovers, im eating up this slowburn right now like its a feast. 2. xavier , i will have to agree with the spectrum take you did, he would be very easy to get along irl and he has a wilder side that is a but hidden. he was my number one pick before sylus debut. 3. zayne , honestly very safe option i can see why they say he would be the best choice realistically but this is a game i wanna have fun 💔 best backstory in my opinion (so far) 4. i can't deal with him, he would be such a good bestie though, im friendzoning him lnaoo. very complex bsckstory though i still dont see myself entertaining a real or fictional man that acts like i do.

Yeah Xavier’s bits in the main story are left a bit unexplained but needs a lot more of background from his myth stories and other stuff that fills in major blanks. He comes across a bit bland in the main story but the other sides come out in the other stuff. Zayne’s kinda like that too, he is as you described in the main story but he gets a bit more explanation and depth with his story branch that has been released. I do think Sylus benefitted from having is whole own grand intro because he was introduced later so he got a lot more depth and the rest were kinda just stuffed into the main story for a bit. Will you be looking at the other content like the dates, phone calls, asmr etc? A lot of the personality building for all of them comes out there vs main story

i absolutely love Rafayel, he's number one for me! i think he's just _so_ pretty, and i love his sass, he feels like someone you'd just have so much fun bantering and flirting with irl. he's so annoying in the best way haha. i suspect he's got more depth to him than it initially seems. i'm looking forward to learning more about him and his backstory. Xavier and Sylus are tied for second place. Xavier is admittedly a little bland at first, but as the story goes on i'm developing more interest in him. he's also very sweet. someone else used the word cozy to describe him, and i'd have to agree. i feel like he would be so nice to cuddle and generally chill with. as someone on the spectrum myself, i died laughing when you said he seemed like it, because yeah he kinda IS giving neurodivergent 😂i kinda like it though, it's endearing him to me more. Sylus is undoubtedly very cool. I'm a villain-lover myself, and enemies to lovers is probably one of my all time favorite tropes, so I'm actually surprised he's not first for me. maybe it's because of his design? not that it's not awesome, because it is. i do really like it. but i tend to prefer dark-haired characters generally. maybe if he'd had black hair with those red eyes, i'd be 100% sold. he's got attitude for days and a cool evol and a cute lil crow pet, what's not to love? my only dislike is the roughness/borderline bdsm vibes lmao. not really my thing. Zayne is also last for me for similar reasons. his personality is a little _too_ stoic and overbearing. i usually like stoic characters, but i think he needed to have more soft moments peek through earlier on to make it work better. he's just too cold as he is right now. plus i'm not really into the doctor trope, and on top of that i actually HATE the childhood friends/friends to lovers trope!! so he's got just about everything going against him for me. the only thing i love is his design. dark hair and multicolor/greenish eyes, plus i really like the way his hair is styled, it's on par with Rafayel's for me. so at least i can enjoy looking at his pictures on the memory card things. but i don't like interacting with him at all so far. i'm shocked that he seems to be so popular in the community. to each their own i guess lol anyway loving your playthrough, you've got me laughing out loud every episode! i agree with the other commenter who said you have a great voice for games like this. i'd def listen to an audio book narrated by you!

It is so true that their entrence is super unbalanced. For Rafayel, Sylus and Zayne it does make a lot of sense but Xavier? There is no way this is the first time MC sees him for reasons I can not talk about because you skipped the Main Story line.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, you'd be surprised. Linkon sounds like a fairly big city. It wouldn't be out of the ordinary to not run into a person at all. The city I live in isn't very big and I've gone years without randomly running into people I know.

Stylus is definitely the hottest and baddest. Xavier is the sweetest, noblest one and Zayne is just perfect husband material. However, I have a real soft spot for artist and rebel types, so Rafael ticks those boxes for me. May turn out he's just as dangerous as Sylus. But, strangely, where Sylus is his authentic, brazen, in-your-face self badass; Rafayel really do prefer the shadows.

You really need to play it a little bit more... the combats are really interesting and there's gonna be more fields and misions for fight and grow. Everyone has a past story, but where I'm now, there are also future stories. Now the intro's 2 songs lyrics have a whole new meaning to me 😢... and I agree totally with you, Xavier and I thing Zayne also, are in the spectrum. I do not resonate with Rafayel, but I think his and Zayne's past stories are the most interesting and painful 💔
