what i hate most about brawlers like kenji, moe, and larry, brawlers that are extremely strong or broken on release is that they typically can mess up a little bit in a matchup where an opponent plays perfectly and still win. While I do think that some brawlers should be able to have matchups where they dont need to play perfect to counter a brawler, having a brawler like kenji be able to counter over half of the brawlers in the game whilst not playing perfectly is wild. And this assumes that a person plays perfectly, which the average brawl stars player does not play perfectly.

i there should be a balance in brawlers of skill - reward, if skill is too high, the brawler will be hard to play but will also reward more if played perfectly, a low skill brawler (like showdown kit) shouldn't have as big of a advantage (reward). although low skill brawlers shouldnt be outright bad, they also shouldnt be broken. i think if they take that into consideration when balancing the meta would overall be more fun.

It is so funny just witnessing the sheer amount of people going “NUH-UH YOU CAN COUNTER HIM BY [Doing insert excuse]!” Now I just laugh at this whole thing. Now- If every single KZbinr says “Kenji is incredibly broken!” I would assume that to be true especially with what his kit and arsenal has. All I can say is; If you defend this by saying he’s balanced, then you most likely maxed him out incredibly soon and are scared that your EZ WIN Brawler will get nerfed.

How to counter Kenji: 1. Hold Brawl Stars icon until you saw the button with the trash can that say uninstall 2. Press it 3. Press Yes On a serious note assassins should not be meta. They always create an oppressive meta that forces you to play the exact type of brawlers. Like when Damage Dealer and Snipers at least you have a varied set of counters but Assassins and Artillery...straight up nope

Yup, assassins should basically always be these "punisher" cards that are good if the enemy doesn't know how to counter them, but bad if the enemy is skilled. (I still think edgar should be worse because he is completely braindead and can kill some brawlers with no chance of losing)

Recently I pushed Sam to rank 30 and it was so easy because every Kenji player I encountered couldn't realize Sam could counter him so easily. They thought they were immortal but I could drain their hp in less than 3 seconds with the proper set up.

The worst part about Kenji for me is that when he uses his super he doesnt always return to the exact spot he used his super sometimes he ends up a few feet away so if you want to outplay him by pre-aiming the spot your taking a gamble.

15:24 When I play jacky, I let kenji attack me, activating counter crush and knocking off the shield, THEN I burst him down with 3 attacks. So i dont waste the attacks (and it's important to not waste them as they deal pretty high damage) Kenji can still theoretically outrange her counter crush with the slash, but walls and pneumatic booster help close the gap.

I think making the gadget heal the same amount over like 3 or 5 seconds instead of instantly would be a very good nerf, it would make you stay alive but force to disengage and not just stay in the action to team wipe every time

The biggest problem with Kenji is that he has his super way too often, and he can use it twice in a single fight if it goes well, and it's a pretty damn strong super that has huge range, huge coverage, can hit over walls, deals a lot of damage, heals him, and makes him instantly invulnerable for longer than Lou's gadget.

His numbers are clearly too high, his super shouldn't heal since he's already INVINCIBLE during it. I also don't understand why he doesn't stop where he slashes, nor does he end up where he started supering (he is always in a slightly different position depending on the direction he was walking before). His kit isn't even broken, which is why he isn't that strong compared to what we've seen so far. Larry and Lawrie for example are very well rounded, releasing with big stats they just didn't have anything to counter them, while Kenji "just" feels unfair

I like going bonnie against kenji and edgar since with the dash gadget she can out-damage their heals pretty well(unless edgar is hypercharged), but I see it only works when the kenji is trying to go up to you for the kill and youre already out of the cannon, which would prob only happen in brawl ball

35:00 as a kenji main i honestly push a frank everytime i see him bc i can easily dodge his first attacks and charge my super then when frank has super ( most of the time frank is now at les than half healt ) i use my super to dodge it and since he cant move while he supers its a guaranteed double hit than i use gadget to get healt back and frank is now 1 hit from dying so its a free kill

I would move lily down a tier. Speaking from experience (I play a lot of lily and kenji), if kenji just doesn’t mess up there spacing/keeps an emergency dash when lily has super, there’s not much she can do. Plus her burst damage just feeds hasomaki healing.

I think Belle could somewhat counter Kenji with her grounded sp. After the mark and few attack from Kenji, he will be much less mobile and Belle could hit him easier with extra damage from the mark. It also make Belle's teammates have an easier time sreading Kenji HP

Berry is definitely not that bad against Kenji in a 1v1 you just have to commit to the close range fight. Preferably you chip him down until he's around 6k hp while conserving ammo and if Kenji gets close you walk up to him and spam heal while doing damage and get super to either kill him or escape. The only time you really lose to Kenji is if he lands his super and is able to do enough burst damage or in scenarios where you can't outheal him (probably cause you ran out of ammo). If this matchup actually is this bad then 70% of duels players that use Kenji at 1100 trophies suck.

I feel like every brawler they release nowadays is really overpowered (like moe or kenji) and no skill making them pay to win even after the nerf they probably would still be really strong and I feel like they're doing this so they can make more money and attract little kids into it or make them feel good about winning with them so they will keep on playing and spending money on the game.

I disagree with Belle’s placement, as with her second star power (stops newly marked enemies from reloading for 5 WHOLE SECONDS), she can save her super, and when she sees Kenji going for her she can super, which would almost always hit due to Kenji being close range, and kill him once he’s stuck next to her with no ammo Keep in mind that Belle dies to 3 slashes from Kenji or if both hits of his super land (literally deals the exact amount of health she has, so maybe choose shield gadget to survive that? It's easily dodgeable tho so probably not), but it’s definitely not an unwinnable matchup TLDR: Belle super stops reload if she has her first star power, survives 2 hits from Kenji, just use that star power if you see Kenji in ranked (you should be banning Kenji anyways)

@@casper14301 I believe both are very useful, you should use shield when the opponent team is mainly long range / low dps, and the other star power when there’s a clear threat like a Mortis This is only in ranked btw, in other game modes you’re kinda cooked, but i definitely wouldn’t say it’s a “no chance” matchup

I really hope Kenji doesn't get slaughtered by nerfs; he's the closest to being balanced of any brawler on release this year and I really dig the learning curve. A Nigiri Nemesis and/or super charge rate nerf would probably land him in a healthy place. I really enjoyed the vid tho, and series like this sounds like a really valuable resource.
