Things change if you dominate the top division for a decade. Forest won the european btb in the early 1980s. You cant ride on the back of that for 40 years expecting to be regarded as a super club. Nobody ever mentions that Forest only have 1 league title (less than clubs considered small like Burnley and Huddersfield) and haven't won the FA Cup for 63 years. I'm an Arsenal fan but when Chelsea won their 2nd Champions League, I think it made them the biggest club in London and bigger than Arsenal - Arsenal have more history yes and more trophies overall (and more domestic success) but Chelsea have won every single trophy possible including 2 Europa Leagues and 2 Champions Leagues (We don't have any of these two). In terms of general popularity/fanbase it's quite similar between the two clubs as well. Arsenal need to win a Champions League to overtake Chelsea as the biggest club in London imo - winning the Europa League this season would be great too since we could really do with one of them, but Chelsea's 2 Champions Leagues (not just 1) puts them over the edge now imo - esp with their other success, notably in the last 18 years.

I do think Chelsea are now a bigger club than Arsenal (but not by much). And that leapfrogging occured after the '21 CL. And for me it was less about the 2nd CL win, and more of a symbol of Chelsea's sustained success and relevance for two decades, compared to Arsenal's stagnation and decline over that same period. No club has permanent status with regards to the size of their club. And I think its important to consider many aspects to determine the size of club such as: Domestic success, European success, Recent success, history, fan base (both domestic and global), stadium etc..

Honestly, this shouldn't be up for debate. Manchester United is easily the biggest club in the premier league and arguably the world. Even though they're so crap they still dominate the news agenda. Every British newspaper wants to have Man Utd on its front page. The main reason for that is that Utd is truly massive. It's undisputed fact!

I'm an Arsenal fan but when Chelsea won their 2nd Champions League, I think it made them the biggest club in London and bigger than Arsenal - Arsenal have more history yes and more trophies overall (and more domestic success) but Chelsea have won every single trophy possible including 2 Europa Leagues and 2 Champions Leagues (We don't have any of these two). In terms of general popularity/fanbase it's quite similar between the two clubs as well. Arsenal need to win a Champions League to overtake Chelsea as the biggest club in London imo - winning the Europa League this season would be great too since we could really do with one of them, but Chelsea's 2 Champions Leagues (not just 1) puts them over the edge now imo - esp with their other success, notably in the last 18 years.

As a Chelsea fan, I think Arsenal is a bigger club than Chelsea just. Based on long history and fan base plus the infrastructure and stadium and Wenger’s period. However I believe a few pieces of Chelsea future will determine Boehly’s group and redeveloping Stamford Bridge combined with continual success and commercial and online world fan base which has grown hugely over the last 20 years. Interesting the panel (especially including Abi) nobody mentioned the womens success and the academies which are now a massive part of each club. Arsenal and Chelsea have huge ladies team and massive success. Chelsea’s academy is, imo, one of the best in the world and international young players are moving there for their careers not just for Chelsea first team but developing to several other clubs from Cobham. With history, trophies, fan base, infrastructure etc etc I would go Man U / Liverpool / Arsenal / Chelsea / then one of 4 of Spurs/MC/Everton/Villa. KTBFFH 💙👍🏼
