Yep, such as Lao Shan Lung skull which used as a makeshift shell on Shen Gaoren's back. Or the skull of both Gravios & Monoblos on the back of Shogun Cenataur & Daimyo Hermitaur respectively are twice the size of the average head size of their living counterpart. Not to mention, the living Zorah that we encounter back in MH World is already confirmed to be a very old individual and close to dying. Yet its skull is not as big as the one found in Guiding Lands nor Frozen Islands. The franchise never give us a straight confirmation if these giant elder dragons can potentially grow to reach gargantuan size or not, despite have been running for so long.

I wish we had more data on the giant mystery skeleton in the 4U primal forest. Also it would be cool to calculate the size of the deceased Gravios, Glavenus, Diablos, Monoblos, Lao Shan Lung and Akantor, whose skulls can be found on the crab monsters. They are often much bigger than the skulls of even living Gold Crown specimens. For the maximum skull size, you could either go for the maximum gold crown crabs, or maybe the deviants. I remember that the Daimyo deviant was insanely huge and had a massive Monoblos skull. But the largest Diablos skull would still be found on the largest gold crown Plum Daimyo. The biggest Akantor skull can be found on the Gaoren Variant/Relatives in MH Online. It would be cool to compare all those skulls with average sized living monsters, largest Gold Crowns, smallest Gold Crowns and Deviants.

Finally someone that understands how mass works 👏. This was really interesting you should do a video on the various weights of monster hunter flaghsips or something like that. Dalamadur is only arguably the biggest if you count dead Skeletons in the background of two maps, the Rotten Vale and the Primal Forest and even then you can still give arguments to debunk that... The size of the Primal forest skeleton could imply the fight we had against the 440 meter specimen was a baby Dalamadur... but the skeleton is fairly different in proportions and shape so it could also simply be an extinct species that perhaps served as an ancestor to both Dalamadur and Laviente. In the Rotten vale there are actually 2 or 3 seperate skulls you can find around the map so it is actually a mass graveyard of specimens as opposed to a single multiple kilometers long specimen, though the skull seems to be a little bit bigger and differently shaped so perhaps they weren't Dalamadurs as you suggest in the video. (Btw you could stand on old Dalas head when you hunted it and this things head isn't much bigger so it definitely isn't 6 times the size of 4us Dalamadur it just has its mouth open so its skull seems a lot bigger, id say its double the length of Dala at most) Finally we can also fight the Shah (King) Dalamadur at roughly the same size as regular Dala in mh4u... So if the so called "King" of the Dalamadur species is only slightly larger I dont see Dalamadurs being able to grow into several kilometer long monsters and thus will never out mass Zorah.
@HardcoreMonsterFan20 күн бұрын
It is really 6x bigger. I measured it in 3D with a god-view perspective. You may think it's only two times bigger because you are standing on the ground and looking up. A 3D model really provides the most accurate result.
@jacobniemann475619 күн бұрын
@HardcoreMonsterFan fair enough; it's just ludicrously big and doesn't appear to be nearly 6x times as large from the characters perspective. Closest possible explanation that I can think of, is that even the giant elder dragons have Large Gold Crown & Mini Gold Crown size measurement applied to them just like regular monsters does. They can be smaller or larger than what their average size range is, but still considered to reach adulthood. The Main Problem is, it will pose an even bigger question. Does the living Dalamadur or Zorah individuals that we encounter are Mini Gold Crowns or already Large Gold Crowns?
@TheTrueUltimateGenLifeform22 күн бұрын
Zorah we fight is dying and a deviant among its kin due to it being a lot bigger than usual. Also the living Dala in mh4 is an adult
@buragi544121 күн бұрын
The answer is very simple. The biggest monsters are those skeletons in Primal Forest. Nothing comes even close to their size.

If im not mistaken, they confirmed it in the MHW concept art book.

I'm questioning the size of the Guiding Zorah, but that's not what I wanna ask, how about the Monster Hunter Rise Zorah head?

shit didn't even know that Zorah head was there

If the Ancestor of Dalamadur is that big, then it's scary to think about what it eat... since Snakes swallows their prey whole, If the Ancestor Dalamadur hunts and eat like a normal snake, then Imagine how big the "prey" would be...

Considering some infos about the next MH game... Wilds might have one (or 2) biggest monsters ever made

The Zorah head is the Zorah that we fight, he exploded and create a entire new Map.
@beaneatingoni135320 күн бұрын
You mean The Guiding Lands Zorah skull? That's not the same one. The Zorah skull is clearly 2 times larger the Zorah that we fight. According to the Iceborne artbook/lorebook, it is another Zorah that died in TGL very long time ago(before any human arrive to new world).

The snow map on monster hunter rise there is also a zorah magdaros corpse
@likeacentipede23218 күн бұрын
If you compare a person who is 2 meters high with somebody else who is only 1,50 meters high but 6 times thicker, you would still consider the 2 meter dude bigger right?

Holup! Theres an even larger Zorah Magdaros skull in Rise’s Frost Islands. Its that “small rosk formation” in the central area of that map. It may be time for a redo :3
@HardcoreMonsterFan22 күн бұрын
The skull in Frost Islands is relatively small, possibly because the maps in Rise are generally smaller than those in World. The only monster I am missing is the Lao Shan Lung, whose skull is used by Shen Gaoren. ( Lao Shan Lung we fight is no where this big, but this skull is different) The skull definitely cannot be as big as the "Ancient Snake" and most likely cannot compare in volume with the "Snap Turtle", but it is definitely bigger than others.

Maybe that's why they're hunted so they don't grow up to a world ending size.
@GreenScreen_415 күн бұрын
How did the Ancestor Dalamadur even sustain itself, does it hunt zorahs everyday just to have a good snack🤣
@Nehfarius20 сағат бұрын
Most likely, it hunted other massive beasts, which were a thing back when it lived, and it went extinct because it ran out of massive prey to hunt.

ppl keep forgetting that the Dalamandur we fight in MH4 is a JUVENILE, as in, not an adult! (including the sub species)

Source? Kinda sounds to me like the problem certain subnautica fans have with the garg leviathan
@alcyon753622 күн бұрын
source? Even if it was a juvenile that doesn't mean it would grow much larger than what we fight, consider that humans are technically still juveniles until we reach about 21 years of age but you don't grow that much after 16

Could Dalamadur be possibly larger than Laviente because the Dalamadur in MH4U is baby? Since MH4U is the only game Dalamadur is featured in, we don’t know their adult size.

At this point I think the bloody planet itself is a monster in Monster Hunter lol
@samazam422121 күн бұрын
I wish people would include the skulls that the crabs used as their shell in these sorts of discussion. Sure its not gonna compete with these three monsters, but it wouldve been interesting to see the Diablos, Monoblos, Gravios, Lao Shan Lung, Glavenus, and Akantor being scaled up to those skulls.
@Vent_Stelar22 күн бұрын

The hunter in me wants to fight this monster one day. But the gamer in me knows, this fight would be too silly and unrealistic even for fantasy standards. Nothing we have in game would take down such a large creature and it'd be chipping away at scales for the whole fight anyways. All attacks would also be map wide as well. It would have to be one of those ship cannon dragonator type of fights unfortunately..
