I binge-watched the season, and found myself liking it more than Letterkenny -- because Shorsey actually has a tangible story arc.

I’ll just say this. Letterkenny never made me cry. The end of this first season had all of the feels. It’s weird how this show makes me think of all the things I like about Aaron Sorkin. The style is totally different but there are elements in the story telling and the way music is used to crank up the emotion. However this show doesn’t have to lean heavily on Radiohead to achieve the effect.

Violent Shorsey kinda reminds me of my cousin Toe when he played hockey. Like 3 fights a game in 1980s and 90s small-town Saskatchewan senior hockey. Without the mouth through, but temper. He got so mad working on the combine he threw a 1 1/4 wrench as hard as he could at the quancet... problem is the boxed end slid over his finger on release and that just flipped around backwards till it hit the back of his forearm breaking his finger. So into town to the hospital. Letterkenny is so universally small town Canada. The res, the skids, the Christians, the hockey player, etc. It's kinda the same thing as corner gas was for relatability in a comical way. Except corner gas was way mellow with no edge at all, which is fine cause that is an aspect of the world they represented. But Letterkenny is the small-town clichés and tomfuckery on display.
