surely its Oldham, they're just an extreme version of Colchester, their last promotion was 90/91 and they're now in the national league

My first thought was Rochdale for similar reasons, but Oldham probably has them beat. 2-3 years ago, my own team (Ipswich) would have been in this conversation. Things can change quickly...

Currently I would say Scunthorpe United: They played Championship 2007-2008 and again from 2009-2011 then got releagated. Got releagated to Leauge 2 in 2012-13. Got back up at first time of asking. Played League One four years. In the last two of those years they lost two Playoff Semi Finals. Got relegated in the following season they played playoffs. Were down at the bottom third of the table the next three seasons. Which the last ended in dropping out of the football league the first time since joining in 1950-51. Comepletly underestimeted the National League and got relegated 16 points from saftey. Dropping to regional level the first time since ages. Lost a promotion battle against Tamworth in the National League North. Finishing second 8 points behind Tamworth. Lost in the playoff semi finals against Boston and missed out on promotion. Curently sitting third in the National League North behind Curzon Ashton and Chorley FC.

Oldham have never been promoted since 1990, and they are the first premier league team to go to non-league, and now it looks like it may be a while until they get out, I hope they do get promoted tho

Saving grace watching bristol city in the championship has been the academy players at times. Bobby reid, joe Bryan, Antoine Semenyo, Alex Scott to name a few. Throw in Tammy Abraham, kodjia, Webster, Weimann, eliasson and there’s been players worth turning up for. Few cup runs, beating man United and taking Man City all the way. Interesting video

I'd say Reading... As a Birmingham fan, I know how utterly depressing their situation is. You can be crap and lose most of your games but you can still have hope that maybe it'll turn around. When the business side of your club is completely falling apart, you have a dodgy foreign owner who refuses to sell and things just get worse and worse, the only hope is that the club might still exist next year...

I think it's Reading NGL. I mean they were close to prem again not long ago, then since then it's been sell, sell, sell, sell. Gone bust, lose your best players for free. Drop a division. Then lose more players. Then they nearly lost their training ground to Wycombe. Now they will lose Selles. For me it's that

Hull city is an utter joke 😂 league 1 in 2004 premier league in 2008,stayed up in the prem in our first season, got promoted back to prem in 2012,finished 16th in our first season, made an fa cup final, was in Europa league, got relegated in 2015, went straight back up,got relegated from prem, was 8th in championship in January 2020 and finished 24th,won league 1 in 2021,got new owners in 2022,had a completely new squad with some of the best exciting loan players league ever seen, finished in our highest position in 8 years then sacked our manager appointed worst hull manager ever and now appointed one of the most exciting young managers and a manager who has best home form in 2024 in the whole of England if that sounds like boring to you then fair enough but supporting this football team is never boring 🐯

Isn't the Championship known as 22 clubs AND Bristol City and PNE? No hope for either club always rooted to the Championship. Everton have a new stadium to look forward to but you get the feeling they will always be in Liverpool's shadow. Likewise Yorkshire clubs not LUFC.

I mean fair play for us to be in that list but there's no reason for us to be number one. I get we've been pretty stagnant in the championship and rarely get far in cups but we're steady and it's much less depressing supporting a steady club rather than one of the many clubs that have been destroyed by poor ownership.

I can remember Wednesday having to win their last Division 3 home game v Southend in order to avoid relegation to the 4th Division (1976) They seem to enjoy returning to the 3rd tier for some reason (maybe want to do the 92?) But -to cheer you up-I can remember Sheff Utd GETTING relegated to Division 4 -lost 1-0 at home to Walsall in a must win home game-even missed a last minute penalty!!(1981) It's eventful in the Steel City I'd say!

If you support "depressive" club, you are a REAL fan. It is really good, not glory and casual Maybe bold example, but Man United. We are very bad last 12 years, but I want support them even more than ever. I want to see problem solutions, unpredictable games. I never go to support a team, who is better at the moment. Many clubs will have things worse than us but taking into account the sheer number of things that have happened over a period of 2 decades combined with a large fan base with big expectations I think Leeds have to be a strong candidate for this. Ridsdale, Relegation, Relegation again, Administration, Bates, Warnock, GFH, Cellino, Hockaday, Steve Evans, Radrizzani, Orta, having Bielsa and sacking him, Marsch, Allardyce, Relegation again. How many other clubs have gone through episodes of shit after shit lasting 2 decades and counting.
