I enjoy this as he feels like the Chinese Masayuki Sanada but also more ambitious than a simple strategist. I'd compare him to American Politician Charles Dawes.

Hadn't made that comparison before. I do like it though, both were cunning foxes that were willing to bend or break rules to make their clan survive.

The best strategist of Wei. I do not care the others (Well, Sima Yi is also interesting)
Funny how Sun Quan dismissed Jia Xu after his promotion to Grand Commandant, by all accounts Jia Xu provided excellent advice to everyone he served, successfully manoeuvred the tumultuous politics of being a Court Official, promoted uplifting and cementing society before turning to military campaigns, and gave Cao Cao the best advice for how to handle his succession. But as time continued, it turned out that Sun Quan was somehow even more inept at handling a succession than either Liu Biao or Yuan Shao, thus destroying the Kingdom of Wu. If either Sun Jian or Sun Ce had survived, Wu would've never given Liu Bei the chance to establish himself, thus cementing Zhou Yu's plan of splitting China into two. Also, He Fei would probably not happen.

This probably goes into thinking way too much/emotionally but I am curious if Jia Xu's advice to the Dong Zhuo's remnants is because he was serving under Niu Fu (also being promoted by Dong Zhuo). So he felt compelled to avenge Dong Zhuo's and Niu Fu's death. Given how he would helped Emperor Xian and Zhang Xiu, as well as serving Cao Cao loyally, maybe perhaps Jia Xu was just content to help whoever needed his help.

I was thinking more like. He just prefer Niu Gu and Zhang Xiu more

I think that he tried to make more friends than enemies and his reserved nature whilst initially serving Cao Cao to avoid the ire of the officials already present, as well as his early life of appearing to be unimpressive suggests this. Also, he wasn't trigger happy and suggested to both Cao Cao and Cao Pi to build the nation instead of waging war. In short, he was probably non-confrontational by nature, choosing to wait for the perfect opportunity, much like Zhuge Liang.

I hadn't thought of that but it makes sense if Jia Xu was treated well by Niu Fu.
