I started replying to this, but I'm not going to give my opinion, because I'd be insulted or slapped down. That, to me, is the larger issue - that these days, people can't say what they think, and then maybe aren't open to discussion, and overall, people seem totally opposed to nuance - to shades of grey, to recognising there are complexities in arguments that you or me might not agree with, but at least need to be recognised and, if people want to, be debated, in a polite and respectful way.

@ Colin, with every due respect, the Torys were in power for a long time, during which (IMO) David Cameron allowed Brexit to happen, which totally sabotaged the country. So, Labour have inherited a cesspit, which it will take time to empty. People like Johnson, with his 'charisma' lulled people into thinking that things would be an overnight fix. To draw a parallel with the orange manbaby in the states, he promised he would fix the situation in Ukraine 'immediately.' Yes, I agree, there are things Labour have done in the first six months which I'm not thrilled by, specifically the things you mention, the WASPIs, etc (I am, at 56, a little too young to be a WASPI, but I am a feminist, and angry on their behalf.) But I still believe Starmer's Labour are working for the good of all of us in the UK, and it will take time for us to see the results. But better than that than a succession of self-serving individuals as we had under the Torys. Please be respectful if you choose to respond to this.
