“There are always portaloos”. Camping is clearly very different in the UK than the US.
@TheCrash4803 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, it is. One of the UKs more dumb laws; it's technically only legal to camp somewhere if you have permission from the land owner, and everything in the UK is owned by someone (anything that isn't owned is still property of the crown). Since it's not generally feasible to get the permission from the land owner of, say, a random forest, the only places you can really camp legally (other than land you own) are areas designed for that purpose ("campsites"). You usually need to pay to use these campsites, and they almost always have portaloos somewhere on site, or sometimes even other facilities like cafes. That being said, I've never personally heard of anyone getting arrested for 'wild camping' unless they were breaking some other law, so I guess it's not that strictly enforced, though I have personally been asked (by police) to pack up and move along on one occasion. Interestingly (at least, I think it's interesting), a similar premise creates an interesting cultural divide in regards to hunting. In the UK, the idea of hunting for wild game is considered something the upper class do, to the stage that even now (when farms do exist for things like pheasant), they still tend to be viewed as quite a posh thing to eat, while I've been told the opposite is usually true in the US. The reason is basically the same; you can only hunt on land you own, and (as far as I know) there are no 'hunting sites' the same way we have campsites. So being able to hunt is effectively synonymous with owning large amounts of land.
@juliannos3 жыл бұрын
@@TheCrash480 there's definitely a wider range of people that hunt in the US. Like there definitely still rich assholes who pay a lot of money to hunt in particular places or for specific game, but there's also a large number of people who hunt to help supplement food (as well as enjoy the sport) Also hunting is built into a lot of our ecological systems and overseen by the forest and national parks service. There's hunting seasons for different animals and you're usually limited to a certain number. And this applies to fishing as well! So it's not a total free for all. There's also definitely judgement toward people who only hunt for sport or hunt with reckless abandon. A big part of hunting, in my experience, has also been about respecting and preserving lands and habitats.
@TheCrash4803 жыл бұрын
@@juliannos Thanks for the information, I have heard about the various regulations in the US, so I apologise if it sounded like I implying it was a free for all. I don't honestly think I fully appreciated the scope of people that might hunt in the US, I was just told at one stage by an American that hunting (for food) was considered to be something mostly associated with less than wealthy people, often to supplement their food as you suggest. Although I've obviously never been hunting, I 100% agree on that last point. Also, if I were to go hunting, I think a big thing for me would be making sure all of an animal was put to use if possible. There's so much waste in the world these days, which is particularly sad in the case of animal products. So to me, one major benefit of hunting for your own food would be that you can make sure there's as little waste as possible.

Zero dates is a viable option for nudity. Judge not folks. 2) Panties is a disgusting word, being both infantile and lewd at the same time. 3) pooping in the woods is common for hikers, campers, and wilderness folk. The fact that there is a limit to 10 fingers is actually kind of funny. 4) Skinny dipping is a great late night activity on Canadian lakes, (cold water and all) just watch out for leeches. 5) peeing in the shower saves huge amounts of clean water and is quite sanitary (as long as you clean your shower) Loved the stream guys! Just sorry that I missed it Live!

i agree with you except for 2. panties is only an disgusting word if you are taught it is disgusting. its like the word moist, some people hate the word moist due to it being used in a naughty manner though you could use moist to descibe food like a moist cake.

@@austinhale5699 I'm not a native english speaker here, but I feel like part of the problem with 'panties' is that it specifically denotes women underwear, and it happens to be both a rather puerile-like word and a largely sexualized one. So there's both the fact that those two connotations just don't gel well together, and that the word seems to exist just to sexualize women underwear. In addition to the word itself, the prompt was rather creepy and inappropriate because it is aimed at women exclusively. Also, these prompts are conceived with the general intent of constructing a 'funny' situation when the faker replies with something out of place, which would be easily uncomfortable with this one.

Skinny dipping is pretty great at a beach when the sun is out too, but a lot of people don't feel comfortable doing it. Lots of countries have nude beaches and such, some countries have "no rules, but don't be a creep about it".

Word of advice about the jellyfish scenario, DO NOT PEE ON IT. Urine will only aggravate the sting. Instead, use vinegar.

This was fun! Love these jackbox streams. Wish I could see more live. Also, Andy has given me incentive to wear my hallowstream shirt year round. My husband gave it to me for Christmas, and I was saving it for October, but now I think I'll get it out! As someone who grew up in the forests of the state of Maine, pooping in the woods while on long hikes does happen, and no port-a-potties anywhere. Also, love port-a-loos better. Also, panties does sound weird to my American ears as well. I've always said underpants or underwear, but for some people it's not a creepy thing, my grandmother and aunt always said it naturally, with no creepiness, it's just what they called underpants. Semper Ubi Sub Ubi.

So you're telling me if you're showering and you have to pee, that you're gonna leave the shower to drip water all over the floor/toilet? While both the shower drain and toilet go to the same sewer? Also, not everyone has a toilet in their bathroom.
@holup26913 жыл бұрын
This is kind of a weird topic to engage with a stranger, but the sound of running water is a huge trigger to go as well. So if there is no toilet in the vicinity then I get it, just take a piss there.

What are you talking about? Showers don't last fifty minutes, you just go to the toilet before you go in the shower, or wait five minutes and go after you get out, it's not difficult
