Ben's problem with the crew, was that they were all making a fortune off the back of being top gear presenters and here he was, doing all the hard driving, the most popular of the team and he wasn't allowed to cash in because they wanted to keep his identity a secret, do instead of helping do that, by helping him publish his book with his details hidden, and they refused to. So he left and released the book. That was the fallout.

For those who say Michael Schumacher was the stig yes he was. But only for one episode, and that's the episode where the Ferrari FXX was being driven round the track. That was I believe series 13 episode 1. Ferrari didn't trust the actual stig (probably Ben Collins) to drive the FXX so they sent Schumacher. Ben Collins left not because of problems with the crew but because his identity was revealed. There's one rare interview with a German or Dutch interviewer interviewed stig and that's where be made the mistake of saying his first words, that was phase one. Phase two was when one of the presenters (I think Jeremy) walked into Stig's trailer with Stig's helmet removed exposing Ben. Then rumours began spreading and he had to leave because of it.
