​@@leoneagle8514Julius canonically, not only killed Dracula in the most permanent way possible, for Dracula, but also canonically takes out the reincarnation of Dracula if the guy ever goes to the dark side. Hell in one of the games where Julius is a supporting character the main character has to constantly use special seals to stop bosses from regenerating otherwise the fight never ends, Julius never gets access to such seals, instead he just Overkills the bosses so hard that they can't regenerate. Richter is cool and all, but Julius is way stronger than him.

I think you are VERY confused on your Simon lore - Castlevania 1 the entire town hated him and he defeated a FULLY ressurected Dracula, along with his entire castle, by himself with no outside help of any kind nor magic. Dracula, when dying, cursed Simon. - Simon then survives Dracula's curse longer than anyone ever has, a full 10 years, and only really noticed something was wrong when his flesh began to rot - Simon straps on some armor, ressurects Dracula himself, goes through an entire town whos citizens are 50/50 on helping/hurting him (aka 0 actual help overall) besides the merchant, and whoops Dracula along with his entire "castle" AGAIN to break the curse Simon is the gigachad of Castlevania. He beat a 100% Dracula alone, then resurrected him to kick his ass again WHILE dying from an illness NOBODY had ever survived for as long as he did, beat Dracula in that state, broke the curse, and lived out his life with his wife. No help, no magic, no problems. He may not be the most powerful, but he is easily the strongest, most skilled, and possibly most badass.

Exactly and i'd like to add that despite Richter's Item Crash ability and such he was practically a glass cannon. due to the fact of his own Hubris since he was some sort of Glory hound. which made him prone to possession and caused the entire Bloodline to go into hiding and was unable to wield the Vampire Killer and had to pass the mantle on to their American Cousin's the Morris family.

When you line up feats and facts, Simon in Grimoire states that each generation of Belmonts is "stronger" than the last to keep pace with Dracula's growing power. So at least on baseline, with that fact, it's Julius bar none. In terms of pure gigachadness though? Simon all the way. Like the above stated the man did his kills solo, once with a crippling curse, and basically Leeroy Jenkins'ed Dracula's army in the most spectacular display of IDGAFness ever seen. TLDR: In terms of power levels? Julius. In terms of actual impressive feats? Simon. Richter can go sit in a corner with Soleiyu to fight over the "biggest screw up" award.

Walter was in possession of the Ebony Stone which granted invulnerability but, even after it was destroyed, The Vampire Killer was the only weapon that could harm him. This also took place in The Forest of Eternal Night, in which case Walters powers were at their peak. He had all of the same powers as Dracula so that statement is irrelevant and so is the placement of Leon on this list. Leon fought Walter in 1094 with the escape of Mathias, who laid dormant until 1476 at which time he would face Trevor because Mathias is Dracula. So, Dracula ran from Leon because he was so powerful…

Come on now, while I agree that Leon was pushed aside a bit in the video, it's disingenuous to suggest he "created" the whip. Gandolfi did. Leon and Sara were just carrying out the ritual. Mathias "ran" from Leon because it was near morning, and his transformation into vampirehood was fresh. He also did not *want* to fight Leon, he wanted Leon to join him. He had hoped throwing Death at him would change his mind. In terms of feats and abilities, Leon's greatest strength was his experience in battle from the Crusades. That's it. Fighting creatures of the night was entirely new to him. Yes, he founded the family and put them on their path, and laid the foundations, but that's all they were, *foundations*. Every generation is stronger than the last, according to Simon in Grimoire. Leon, and by extension Trevor, had no magical blood in them that their descendants would due to Sypha. Trevor marrying Sypha was literally the family's ace card, it's what let them grow stronger through the ages to keep pace with Dracula. Leon was a good warrior, he was important to the family, but he ain't top tier. He and Trevor are pretty much on equal playing field, being the only Belmont family members we see without the magical Belnades blood added to the mix.

Although while the anime is messing with some people's understanding, so is the evolution of game mechanics over time. Julius for sure. You gotta think about the plan they had during 1999. The plan was for Julius to solo Dracula while everyone else fended off his army and prepared a spell to seal his castle. In order for the plan to work Julius had to not only fend of dracula by himself but physically drag the count out of the castle. Think about how hard it is to just fight Dracula. Julius not only had to fend off Dracula in a battle to the death but was so dominant that he was able to incapacitate the count without killing him and then physically dragged him through the entirety of freaking castlevania whithout dying. Think about how big and dangerous Castlevania is, think about how improbable it is to defeat incapacitate Dracula without killing him much less keeping his big ass at bay through a whole castle. Julius is top belmont for that feat alone. It doesn't even really make sense.

Bruh Julius got his ass kicked by Dario a guy that wasn't even Dracula and needed Soma to step in and defeat him. Heck even Alucard seemed like he wouldn't have had an issue dealing with him given that he didn't see him as a threat, but Alucard saw Dmitrii as a threat at the end of the game when he absorbed a Demon and just straight up one shots Alucard, this same Alucard who saw Dario a guy who Julius got his ass handed to him by as not even a threat. The fact that Alucard someone who's below Dracula's level of power is showing feats greater than Julius implies that Julius is just really weak, it amazes me how no one talks about this, as this would make Julius one of the weakest Belmonts.

If Johnathan really did fight the last user of the whip, he would be fighting his father and not the last Belmont who wielded it, so he's fighting the last official Belmont who used it.

One of the things that need to be brought up for this discussion is HOW exactly a Belmont surpass its predecessor. The Belmonts grow in power over time because a Belmont will bring something new everytime. Leon Belmont is not a vampire hunter, but he is a knight. He's possibly the most skilled in terms of physical prowess due to his knightly training. He was only armed by an alchemy whip (which will become the Vampire Killer) and a magic glove. Trevor Belmont didn't have the same training as Leon but he was a capable fighter. His addition was the sub items. Christopher Belmont was the most reluctant out of all the Belmonts but had to step up due to his cirumstances. The magic side of the Belnades blood wasn't apparent for both him and his son but his gameplay showcased Vampire Killer shooting fireballs. Simon Belmont is what happens when you nerf a Belmont. Despite his curse however, he managed to beat Dracula twice in his lifetime. His gameplay showcased Vampire Killer covered in flames. Juste Belmont, as said in the video, was the weakest physically but is the first Belmont to ever fully harnessed the magic in the Belnades blood, along with the usual capabilities of a Belmont. Richter Belmont actually was the definitive strongest Belmont of his time compared to his predecessors. Despite his strongest form coming from Maria, Richter was the very first one to utilize Item Crashes which is the pinnacle of the Belmont and Belnades blood combination. Hydro Storm is arguably the strongest attack that a Belmont ever used. However, Julius Belmont is actually the true strongest. Contrary to what people believe, Julius faced Dracula alone as those who helped him have different roles in the war. In fact, he beats Dracula without using the Vampire Killer as it was placed near the Chaotic Realm inside the castle to weaken Dracula. People never know that his capabilities are the same as Richter (Item Crash, he was the Belmont that have the most powerful Grand Cross), except he also is the one who brought the pinnacle of the physical prowess of the Belmonts via Omnia Vanitas. This made Julius intangible and is the reason why he's the fastest Belmont. Whatever their feats are in beating Dracula, it is clear how the Belmonts surpass their predecessors. Lastly, Dracula does grow in power everytime he fully resurrects, so his pinnacle came when he and Julius fought.

Not only that, Julius displayed power that was so freakish it seemed impossible. In Dawn of Sorrow, defeating the boss monsters involved sealing them otherwise they'd put themselves back together. Julius was obliterating them so hard that they couldn't come back together at all, which left Soma stunned when he told him.

Yet despite all of this Julius lost to Dario, a guy who was stated multiple times was nothing compared to Dracula at full power. It gets even worse when you realize Alucard didn't view Dario as a threat, but saw Dmitrii as a threat at the end of the game once he absorbed a powerful demon and just straight up gets one tapped by Dmitrii. This is still someone who's still inferior to Dracula at full power and Soma was able to beat both of them, it amazes me how no one bothers to bring this up as Dawn of Sorrow makes Julius look incredibly weak compared to Aria of Sorrow where he claimed to have held back against Soma, yet got destroyed by someone Soma easily defeated in Dawn of Sorrow.

To me, i would want to ignore the whole "The oldest is the weakest and the newest is the strongest" Honestly it'd all depends on where you're pointing, physical skills, magical properties or flat out experience as a whole. (plus this is a very long reply) With magic, Leon and Juste definitely benefit here. As much as we give Leon crap for how weak he is since he's never defeated dracula, you can't forget he went toe to toe with Walter Bernhart (the last dark lord before mathias), the forgotten one and still dealing with the likes of death, who warped an entire pocket dimension. Yes Walter isn't as powerful as Dracula, he's still a pretty tough candidate, Plus his seven orbs he collects gives his sub weapons extra powers and abilities and magic, even before the belmonts become equated to belnades. Preforming Grand cross, blade serpent, Shatter Plane or other item crashes, he also wields various relics, giving him strength, durability, speed and invincibility. Juste has just far more items and tools, armour and ways on upgrading the vampire killer whip. Theres also the summoning tome where he literally summons Gods and Special beasts. Plus theres his Infinite jump boots which allows him to jump infinitely and floating boots to float, which gives him a massive aerial advantage, against other belmonts. Experience would definitely go to Christopher and Simon in this case. Christopher is definitely one of the oldest belmonts out there and one of the many belmonts to defeat dracula.... Twice. The only real downsides however is having almost no experience with the whip, aside from a single attack or a fireball and (yeah it was gameboy and all) he was very slow. He does contain many of the regular sub weapons such as Axe, Holy water and cross, but this'd limit him from a much larger variety of ways to attack. Simon is definitely the most experienced, not only in terms of whip techniques but also defeating dracula twice as well. One time all alone, the second, again alone but with a curse hurting his body. He doesn't have as much items as Leon and Juste or skills like Richter and Julius, but he's still got skills and items, from Simon's quest and Judgement. Having 3 types of knives included with the other classic 4 sub weapons, and also laurels, invincibility potions, sacred flame ability, diamond and other weapons. If that doesn't warrant Simon to being the most experienced, i'd point to Judgement with simon's Hyper attack kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2jZZq1nmbRgY7M *Yikes* And than there's physical skills, which obviously go to Richter and Julius. Richter would've been regarded as the best belmont due to his variety of movement abilities, such as a slide, a high jump, a whip tackle (where he spins the whip outwards whilst dashing) and ofcourse his item crashes. While leon and juste has more magical properties, richter does more, with less. Given the overall power of these abilities its fair to assume richter ain't playing around, even with the Whip's Memory fight with Jonathan morris, he's easily on par with jonathan, who he and Charlotte were capable of stopping a fast moving train upon impact and withstood it. So he's definitely on par. Julius however, he's the one who permanently defeated dracula (albeit with the help of an Army) and is the most oldest of belmonts (which almost put him in most experienced), he gains a high jump, a dive kick, sliding and even a phasing ability called "omnia vanitas" where he literally phases through people, in terms of power *His own grand cross technique pulled apart entire pillars from Dracula's castle within the background of his bossfight* said to have killed monsters created by celia (which she claims they are invincible without magic seals) without them being able to reconstitute (with the comment of Soma stating that's impossible), breaking a seal which not even soma nor Arikardo could break to gain access to the second last area of Dawn of sorrow and through his own willpower alone *Resisted Soma stopping time on him* (yeah he was stopped by Zephyr, but still). The only one i really couldn't categorise was trevor surprisingly, in curse of darkness and dracula's curse he's pretty strong and even took on a match with a Monster Grant, The cyclops that turned Sypha and Alucard, so he's very strong, he masters various whip techniques in curse of darkness and judgement, but not on a large level of Simon (still comparable in some way though) and curse of darkness's "trevor mode" and his boss fight, he uses his various sub weapons, magical power ups and even item crash abilities, but not as powerful as Leon or Juste. He's definitely strong, but not as strong as Richter or Julius. I'd probably rank him as the most balanced of all belmonts. So if i had to choose, It'd be between Juste, Simon and Julius (depending which category we're going with)

from some one who's only watched videos talking about the belmonts, I think i'd classify Trevor as The leader belmont, He's not lone wolfing it and is more of a leader of his team. I'd also say that He had a strong handicap when it came to knowing all the belmont skills, he was the last of the clan of the time, So it's liekly that he wasn't the one who would have been chosen to fight dracula if most of the clan hadn't been wiped out. He might be the weakest, but I think he's the most relatable of them

The real handicap is him being the only one left and being very rusty due to being exiled. Trevor def isn't the weakest with Belmonts like Soleil and hell even Christopher (in the first gb game) around. Trevor you have to understand while he had help getting to Dracula, from what the patchislot shows us atleast igavaniawise he still fought drac himself. He's VERY strong. in most artwork he's shown to take the lead with the rest of the crew doing what seems to be crowd control most of the time. Soleil never even has his own adventure (that we know of) And in the adventure Christopher literally slacks off. Takes the back entrance to the castle and that's why his game was so short. He didn't even kill drac properly. Mind you this guy had no excuses his ancestor PAVED THE WAY. imo Christopher is the most relatable although he does surpass Trevor in Belmont's Revenge. But Trevor def isn't the weakest. All things considered he's probably one of the stronger ones considering all the handicaps he had just due to his poor luck.

He's tough but he doesn't have the balance of power and magical skill that Richter does. Funnily enough, SOTN refers to Richter as the strongest Belmont, and Grimoire of Souls & Aria of Sorrow states that Julius is the strongest vampire hunter. So Richter is stronger than every Belmont that came before him and Julius is, at the very least, stronger than every vampire hunter alive during 1999. (But probably prior to then too.)

Not -just- because Julius killed dracula, but I think it's him because he ENDED THE RESURRECTION CYCLE. He didn't just kill Dracula, he made it so Dracula could never be resurrected ever again. The reason Soma isn't a 'vessel to bring dracula back' and merely 'the next dark lord' is because Dracula -can't- come back. They have to make a new Dracula. That's why he's the biggest badass in my head. He literally did the one thing that Belmonts have strived for for centuries: Stop Dracula from ever coming back. That, my friends, is the definition of a BONAFIDE BADASS. That being said, I think Leon is definitely one of the stronger Belmonts. Sure, he never faught Dracula, but think about it this way: HE CREATED THE VAMPIRE KILLER. He, the first in the belmont line, created the legendary vampire-slaying whip and used it to defeat not only Death himself (who, at the time, was very powerful as far as I know,) Bernhart (The strongest vampire before Mathias rose to power and became Dracula), and the Forgotten One, a creature so destructive and powerful that it was mangled and locked away in a magical jail because nobody else could kill it. He's got a -lot- going for him, and definitely lived up to his namesake.

Another really underrated thing about Julius is the quote from Soma: "If I lose the battle... and become the reincarnation of evil, I want you to kill me." Soma is a very reasonable (and good) person, so it's extremely unlikely he wouldn't make a request that he believes would be in bad faith or impossible to carry out... Which means he (and Julius, based on his response) is confident that Julius is strong enough to either kill him or kill someone with a level of strength similar to his. On top of that, (iirc) it's stated in both the English SoTN manual and the Japanese Castlevania 1 manual that Dracula comes back stronger each time he is resurrected (with possible, implicit exceptions for when he's not resurrected at full power). On top of all THAT, the 1999 Demon Castle War wasn't just "another Dracula resurrection." It was based on a prophecy hundreds of years in the making and based on the foretelling of the apocalypse. No other Dracula resurrection was prophesized, and (based on the prophecy) no other Dracula appearance even remotely came close to ending the entire world. The closest I can think of is in Castlevania 3 where Dracula merely rampaged across Europe, which is a far cry from the entire world. So not only was the state Julius fought Dracula in the most powerful one ever (save possibly Soma), but it was possibly so by a very large margin.

Soma _seems_ just as strong as ever, but he's nerfed in quite a few ways. His (Dracula's) source power, Chaos, is gone, so he doesn't have a near endless supply of power or regeneration (in a bad ending) to keep coming back like Dracula. Although his actual inherent _powers_ stay, it's probably safe to assume if he died, he wouldn't return which absolutely wasn't the case before because Dracula came back through Chaos. Also, he never actually killed any of the enemies he seals, since they also return in Julius mode, which should be impossible - unless they were never truly gone (not to mention even if they were brought back, he still needed seals, unlike Julius, Alucard and even Yoko.) In fact, even HE couldn't kill Dario in the traditional sense - He either had to cut him off at the source of his power by killing Aguni directly or have him die to Aguni since the magic seal made *Aguni* kill him - not Soma. I repeat: The only reason Soma won is because the seal killed him (a technique that's just a key and has nothing to do with raw power) or Aguni (which again, was based on a key being the mirror realm). There's no evidence to suggest that if Soma *didn't* have the seals and *couldn't* access Aguni, Dario wouldn't regenerate endlessly like everyone else and eventually kill him, meanwhile at least Julius has Julius mode as evidence to support the fact _he_ could kill him while powered by Aguni in a rematch. Maybe Julius just underestimated him the first time: after all, Alucard underestimated both Dario and Dmitrii. Julius obviously "lost" to Dario (even though he said he was fine when questioned by Soma, had Dario brutalized to the point of needing to regenerate, and was able to move perfectly fine immediately after the fight) but Soma potentially would have also, had it not been for Aguni or the seals. Really, his loss in power goes beyond that - He's 56 or 57. If I recall, you're not allowed to box or join the military at FORTY, and Julius is nearly 50% older than THAT. He doesn't complain about age until Dawn, and the possible reason for that is his age simply caught up to him rapidly. All it takes is the difference of 1 year in the real world for age related medical problems to arrive, so it makes sense that Julius would at least be weaker in that timeframe. This is corroborated in gameplay by the fact he is slower (& can't super jump or Omnia Vanitas anymore) in Dawn's Julius mode, and in the story he got tuckered out by the Grand Cross and complained about his age in Dawn (neither of which happens Aria). Also, as mentioned in Aria after Chaos is defeated, the Vampire killer's power started to fade, as shown here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4q2k6ulg7prd9Esi=vla6_YlvzGMd2AFO&t=8m10s . Julius lost his physical strength and his weapon's full power - of course he's far weaker. Despite all that, he's still one of the stronger characters (and don't get me started on Aria of Sorrow or God forbid PRIME Julius) and unlike Soma, he doesn't need magic seals to defeat monsters (in fact, he can even beat Dario in a rematch in Julius mode.) Alucard not only lost to Dmitrii, but doesn't have his Godlike weapons from SoTN, and he was restrained in power for the entirety of the story outside Julius mode (and, since he's at least partially a product of Chaos, he's likely also weaker without it, although that's just theoretical). The fact he thought Dario wouldn't be a problem for Julius was likely an underestimation, since he *also* got beat by a foe in a similar situation Dario - one with a power source that resides on an outside demon, making them stronger than they otherwise would be. _They both lost to similar situations,_ so I don't see why Alucard is implicitly "so much stronger." On the contrary, he and Soma couldn't even break that magic barrier at the end of the game, while Julius *could.* If even Julius' attack power is too weak to beat Dario's regeneration, then Alucard's definitely is. On top of THAT, Dario (and Aguni) can be easily defeated in Julius mode, so that proves Julius only lost to Dario because of regeneration and stamina loss, not because of power or skill or whatever.

@@hadesKIU This is precisely my point, all of these guys are so weak compared to Dracula's full power and Julius just so happened to get the shortest end of the stick with even Alucard surpassing him in power given how Dario wasn't seen as a threat by Alucard but Dmitrii was when he merged with that demon at the end of the game. That is also 100% false and its immediately debunked in the beginning of the game when Alucard just straight up tells Soma that his powers never really went away but rather just went back to being in a dormant state after Soma destroyed Chaos. Destroying Chaos only meant that Dracula's soul wouldn't return to the state as he previous was since Soma is technically a reincarnation of Dracula's soul and Chaos would've undone that process, not that it'd completely stop Dracula or some version of the Dark Lord from ever coming back as stated by Alucard at the end of the game with him stating that a new Dark Lord will appear but that it wouldn't be Soma. As side thing this connection to chaos that Soma destroyed ensured that Dracula's castle itself wouldn't come back which I believe is where the confusion stems from. Its also weird you say that Soma couldn't defeat Dario despite him literally doing so, the magic seal just guarantees a safe way to remove his opponent like Dario from battle since Soma isn't exactly the type to kill at least that's what he'd hope. Plus Soma defeated the actual demon that was powering Dario which means that he definitely had the means to kill Dario, however wanted to avoid doing as shown in the incomplete ending where he felt guilty for unintentionally killing Dario by using a magic seal not knowing that it would kill him because of the way Dario merged with the demon that the only way to have had Dario not die was to just kill the demon powering Dario as stated by Alucard. I would've bought the whole Julius is pretty rusty due to his age, inexperience and the fading of the vampire killer's power had it not been for Aria of Sorrow stating that Julius was holding back in his fight against Soma. If I recall correctly Dawn of Sorrow takes place not even a year after Aria of Sorrow. Speaking of which since you mentioned Soma never had the ability to defeat all of his enemies in Dawn of Sorrow because of the use of magic seals, despite literally Soma doing that in Aria of Sorrow and defeating Death without a magic seal then. If the loss in Julius's physical strength was massive in between Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow the story really should've made that clear or mention something else because at least that way Julius doesn't appear to be as weak as he looks when he's struggling to take of an enemy who's not even on Dracula's level of power. Its odd you bring this up because this only serves to make Julius look that much worse if Alucard even when in a massive weaken state is superior to Julius, when Alucard even in his strongest state isn't enough to fully compete with the power of Dracula, just further increasing the gap in Julius's power to Dracula. I already addressed the chaos thing nerfing his abilities as he makes no mention of it in the story, same thing with Julius's age and the vampire killer's power fading which I believe was only stated to happen after the events of Dawn of Sorrow. I would say that rings true narratively speaking since Julius is forced to sit out for a good portion of the game without much good reason. I will say there is a way to sort of fix this confusion, though again this really should be the story's job, but an plausible explanation would be that because these are candidates for being Dracula they would already be at Dracula's level of power in 1999, which might also imply that Alucard got a power amp from the time when Julius fought Dracula in 1999 and when he appeared in Aria and Dawn of Sorrow to the point where Alucard would be stronger than Dracula in 1999, however when fully reformed Dracula would've also gotten a power amp that would surpass his previous state and still keep that gap in power between Alucard and him. Which may explain why Julius wasn't capable of keeping up as he's more or less stay the same at best. Honestly this is the best shot in the dark answer I could think of as to why Julius got beaten by Dario, but even this has its own problems and requires a good amount of assumptions to get there as this isn't stated in the story.

Afaik, fighting the memory of the last Belmont is just a requirement to use the whip's full power for people that aren't direct descendants of Leon (like the Morris clan). John Morris probably also beat Richter's memory, as he bad the whip's full power in Bloodlines, and Quincy might've done so as well in 1897 even if he canonically killed Dracula by running a stake through his heart. Julius is still the strongest Belmont however, even if he probably didn't have to fight Richter's/Jonathan's memory (though my headcanon is that Jonathan trained him).

That is how the alchemy/blood pact worked Sara gave Leon and all his descendants the power to slay the night IF they upheld her last wish. That no one would ever suffer her fate again. So cos of that ( I'll skip the LONG lengthily bit about how the alchemy behind the Vampire Killer whip Rite works) The Belmont's can just use the whip. And as i said this fact is seen in PoR. You see the Morris's are a branch family of the Belmonts so there not of the main Line. So In order for them to use the whip THEY have to take on the WM. Also again as the Morris's are a branch family they would not appear in the whips memory. if they did appear then Jonathan would have fought his dad Johnny Morris not Richter. as Johnny Morris was the last user of the whip as seen in the game Vampire Killer for the MD. also as far as i Know Jonathan Training Julius is a Fan idea. Also Juste never fought the count, as Dracula Wraith is not the real Dracula. So that's both him and Leon. Great video! Just wanted to point out a few things. 1.) At 7:18 you mention Yoko aided Julius during the Battle of 1999. However, given she was 24 when the events of Aria of Sorrow occurred, the earliest she could've been born was 2011, a full 12 years after Dracula's final death. 2.) 7:48 According to Stella in PoR, the point of the Whip's Memory ritual is to allow a non-Belmont to use the full potential of Vampire Killer. Since the whip's power comes from Leon forming a blood pact with Sara Trantoul, the vampire used to make the whip, only Belmonts are able to fully control it. On the flipside, however, the fact that Vampire Killer's power comes from the soul of a vampire seems to be the reason why using it is lethal to non-Belmonts. 3.) A minor point, but the Whip's Memory only conjures the last Belmont to defeat Dracula. If this caveat weren't the case, Jonathan would have had to fight John Morris. 4.) This might go against the grain with your praise of Jonathan, but it's worth noting that he and Charlotte are at least a bit less powerful than the later Belmonts, due to the fact that he can only cast Grand Cruz with a partner. Contrast this to Juste, Richter, and Julius, all of whom are able to cast it on their own. 5.) This is a subtle detail, but in Soma's fight with Julius during Aria of Sorrow, you can see Julius' Grand Cruz causes portions of the castle to fall apart. I think it's worth factoring in, however, since it makes Julius the only Belmont able to directly harm Castlevania itself, instead of the castle falling apart without Dracula's magic sustaining it.

Man. Did my boy Trevor dirty. I know you needed to quickly go through each Belmont for the video which is understandable but still, several things about him were missing, key things mind you. First there’s the fact that Trevor was able to use Crash Attacks, he was also asked for help both by the Pope and by the Eastern Orthodox Church, who in their case wanted Sypha found. Second, Trevor was strong enough that Mathias was able to feel his presence even when he wasn’t in Wallachia, Trevor was such a threat to him that he sent Hector (his strongest Devil Forgemaster) and an entire legion of demons after him just to assassinate him before he even reached Wallachia. The scar that is on Trevor’s eye came from his hand to hand combat with Mathias, which he (Trevor) won. Trevor never stated that he was holding back either, he in fact was proud to admit that he had allies that he could trust with him even though it was very clear that he didn’t need the help. Plus, in Grimoire of Souls, Alucard straight up states that Trevor was leading the charge on Dracula’s castle, and Trevor himself also states that he killed Dracula so that Alucard didn’t have to suffer with the guilt of killing his own father. Plus, Devil Forgemasters aren’t just lowly peons either, given that they’re Devil Forgers their power rivals Death himself, and Trevor was holding his own perfectly fine against Isaac and his strongest Devil, Abel. Isaac had to sneak up on him just to get an advantage and he did that almost immediately after Trevor tested Hector again to see if he would be ready to fight Dracula.

Iirc it's been stated canonicaly that every next generation belmont that came are stronger than the previous generation because they have too since dracula gets stronger for every resurection he had. For the jonathan morris part i think he's strong but not that strong please remember that the richter belmont he fought is just a memory of richter not the real richter plus alucard already said that at that time richter is the strongest belmont and vampire hunter he knew at that time.

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow Spoilers (and maybe bias. Maybe.) : You ever just realize you are SO FREAKING STRONG you actually cause brain damage to YOURSELF because of how strong you are and end up forgetting your ENTIRE identity if not for ONE letter ? That's Julius Belmont right here. This man was so GOD DAMN POWERFUL he fought Soma in his LATE FIFTIES, when he was pretty much an old man not even in his prime, that he said "Yeah. I'm going to go easy on you." AND STILL put up a fight against Soma. Hell, this man WAS MAKING THE WHOLE CASTLE CRUMBLE when he was MERELY CASTING GRAND CROSS. Not even releasing it. THE LOADING OF THIS FUCKING POWER MOVE ACTUALLY THREATENED THE ENTIRE CASTLE. You could see it crumbling in the background. On top of that, he's the only Belmont to have actually killed Dracula as it was stated in the video. It's true that we don't know the circumstances of the war, but you can bet your ass that if Julius had to go EASY against Soma, and that if Julius is literally THE GAME OVER SCREEN once Soma becomes Dracula, this just means how fucking legendary and raw he is. You ever are so powerful that you become the Game Over screen of someone ? Why do you think this is the Game Over screen ? That's because Soma entrusted his death to Julius because he KNOWS Julius just CAN. It's a Game Over because there is literally no fucking way for you to beat Julius when he's at full power. Not only that but this dude has Omnia Vanitas. When you play through Julius mode, the equivalent of Soma's backdash is basically a move Julius uses and IS INVINCIBLE DURING IT. He cannot be hurt and he literally temporarily ceases to exist in the world only to come back again because let's face it it would be too broken. While Richter has an ungodly amount of magic potential, his inability to properly control it to its fullest potential prevents him from being the de facto strongest. He has incredible agility and his acrobatics are among some of the best among the Belmont line, and he has very solid reflexes. But his ineptitude for higher magic (which also allowed him to be cursed and mind controlled) makes him fall short of strongest. Simon, while having defeated Dracula twice, once when he was at his strongest, then reviving him again to undo the curse he placed on him, is a very solid contender for brute physical prowess. His ability to power through the curse, one which none have ever survived before, let alone survive a full 10 years before undoing it, is a testament to the physical conditioning and fortitude of Simon. In terms of sheer raw physical strength and endurance, Simon could easily take the top spot. While Leon is the “progenitor” of the Belmont bloodline, he is a rather curious case. We never truly see him battle a truly powerful Dracula, yet we do see him fight Death and the Forgotten. He’s a very strong individual though whether he is the strongest Belmont we can’t say for sure. Julius definitely sits as a very strong contender for it however.

It says it right here, clear as day that the power from his whip was fading: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4q2k6ulg7prd9Esi=vla6_YlvzGMd2AFO&t=8m10s . Also, his Grand Cross attack tired him out in Dawn while in Aria it didn't (and he DID use it since it's hard coded into the fight) because 1. He's been killing beings he physically should not be able to, so of course he's eventually going to tire out, and 2. he's older - he literally says to Soma "Don't grow old" when he breaks that barrier (that Alucard and Soma couldn't even fucking scratch, mind you) right before Alucard gets his ass handed to him in a situation just like Julius' (fighting an opponent with an outside source of power essentially making them stronger than they would be normally). Also Julius (who is also *verifiably* nerfed in Dawn due to his lack of super jump and Omnia Vanitas abilities) can easily beat Dario in Julius Mode, so he's sure as hell not weaker than him raw-power wise.

My point is everyone here looks weak even Alucard in Dawn of Sorrow getting one shotted by Dimitri with just some random demon power that’s fodder to full power Dracula. Now of course the story should definitely have made it more clear that’s Julius’s aging has caused him to become much weaker. Plus his failure to defeat Dimitri puts his statements of Aria of Sorrow into question when it was implied he he’ll back.

The bad ending also alluding to the fact that Julius would've been able to defeat Soma even at full power. For him to get to the power when he's vastly above Soma's level in Aria of Sorrow, to being vastly beneath Soma in Dawn of Sorrow is just odd given that only 1 year had passed between the 2 games.

I played every single game of the franchise for years, and have extensive knowledge abouth it, it is one of the only three franshises that I can absolutelly say that Iam a PHD when it comes to it, and also the scalling, and as far as ranking of the strongest CANONICAL Belmonts go, from weakest to strongest, we have: 7 - Tevor Belmont = Trevor was the first Belmont to actually kill Dracula, It was also a full incarnation of him as well, BUT, it was one of the earlier Drac forms and thus it was far from the strongests ones, AND he did it whit the help of three companions, althouh he was defenitelly the strongest of the bunch (until Alucard surprasses him in Simphony of the Night but at the time Trevor was defenitelly above Alucard) He then proceeded to stealmate against Hector, and that is actually his GREATEST feat, seen as Hector is slightly above Death in terms of power and he stealmated whit him and his innocent devils alone in a fair fight, but he was also taken by surprise by Isaac almost immediatly after that, and Isaac is also comparable to Hector although not as strong as him, still, that shows that he can be easely defeated by someone that is weaker than Death and would struggle against one while fighting alone, he is one of the most legendary of Belmonts, BUT is defenitelly the weakest of the main ones. 6 - Leon = Leon Belmont was decribed as a GENIUS tactitian far before he got his divine powers from sacrificing Sara to form the vampire killer, he is also one of the most experienced Belmonts being a warrior from early age and fought in several wars and was literally called INVINCIBLE and his warrior guild was undefeated because of him, he was defenitelly above Trevor, he created every single tactic that Trevor utilized, the cross, the axes, the daggers you name it... He had a magic arsenal through his artifacts that Trevor never showed to pocess and was the ACTUAL first magic user Belmont (Sorry Juste) as he was able to enhance his wip whit the power of the elements utilizing magic stones and much more, he also fought death ALONE whitaut any help and won rather easely, he was also the one who defeated the Forgotten One a being who could literally detroy the world and he did it, you guessed it, all alone, his feats are way better than Trevor if you analise them focusing on their individual feats rather than the team work Trevor, Sypha, Alucard and Grant Danasty did on theyr journey, Leon would defenitelly beat Trevor, oh and do not forget we do not know the true extention of Leon powers, since he did not got to fight Dracula, and thus we cannot say if he could defeat him or not, but he could be even stronger than I stated here. 5 - Christopher Belmont = Christopher was the first or one of the first Belmonts to be regarded as a holy like warrior figure that was destined to protect the world against the darkness, and he was a badass, he made a fully incarnated Dracula RUN in fear of him during theyr first battle to save his wife, and he was the first Belmont to defeat Dracula ALONE in a 1v1 match up, latter he defeated his son Soleyu, wich we cant actually quantify the scope of this feat, seen as he was branding the vampire killer not his son, but Christopher past trough Death and then he fought Dracula a second time, while he was PAST HIS PRIME (We know that because he was abouth to pass his tittle and wip to his son before he was pocessed, meaning that Christopher had reached the end of his career by that point) and he killed a fully recovered Dracula, who was a fully revived one since their first battle, and was the first belmont to BEAT Dracula twice (Sorry Simon). 4- Juste Belmont = Juste is the tird strongest magic user of the clan only behind Richter and Julius, and he is THE most versatile magic user and overall combatant, his magic powers are so strong and so diversified, he could literally storm Dracula Castle, whiathaut using the vampire killer at all if he wanted to! Juste and Leon are the two Belmonts that are LESS dependant on the vampire killer throuaut all of the franchise, he defeated a WAY more powerfull Death than Christopher (Death just like Dracula and the Castle, gets way stronger whit every incarnation and Death can fully resurect himself way easyer than Dracula can because... He is literally Death) Although just like Leon he did not get to fight Dracula per say, this also tell us that we dont know the full extend of his powers, but he did defeated Dracula´s Wrath wich was his literal hate for the Belmonts manifesting to fight one, and that Wrath was AT LEAST stronger that Death at that point, the same Death who was way stronger than the one Christopher fought due to centuries in diference of incarnations, Juste is also the hottest Belmont ever recorded thus far (Except for Simon if you are into the strong daddy type) Juste also was the ONLY Belmont who actually PREVENTED a Dracula ressurection and if you think abouth it... He is probably the most successfull Belmont of all time, besides Julius of course if you consider the goals of the clan itself, protect the world from Dracula and his forces. 3 - Simon Belmont = Its him everybody, THE GOAT of the Belmont Clan, this guy is a demon, even more than Dracula himself, he is togheter whit Trevor, the most praised and "legendary" figure of the clan, he is the representation of everything the Belmonts stand for, wiping the shit out of vampires... To be honest Simon is a very basic guy, he is not proficient whit magic, his main atribute is really the vampire killer he has all the basic training of a Belmont like trowing axes and whatnot, BUT, he beated on of the MOST POWERFULL forms of Dracula, a fully ressurected one at that, went through Dracula castle beated him and Death till theyr... Death, no iten crashes, no magic, no shanannigans only his sheer power and wits, after that he was cursed to literally ROT while being alive, being severelly handycaped and unable to continue his lineage at that point, so in order for him to survive and another Belmont be waiting for the next incarnation of Dracula, he packed his shit, while being cursed and WEAKENED, he stormed Dracula´s forces again, stole all his parts from his acolites while being target by every single night creature on earth because of his curse, he revived Dracula himself (He actually completed the ritual that would have fully revived Dracula again at Harmony of Dissonance during Juste Belmont time, and it was very clear that Dracula would have been fully revived if not by Juste intervention, meaning that Simon actually revived Dracula to his fullest of that period, or very close to that altough the gameplay of the NES game did not made that scene very climatic...) And then he proceeded to kill Dracula, AGAIN, and all of this, WHILE WEAKENED by a curse! Simon is top 3 for a reason, RESPECT THE GOAT. 2 - Richter Belmont = Theres no much discussion here, by the time he was in active, Richter was actually recognized as the STRONGEST BELMONT OF ALL, period. He fought the second most powerfull fully incarnation of Dracula behind only the eclipse of 1999, he has strong magic through his item crashes and his HYDRO STORM the most powerfull Belmont power up to that point except for the wip itself, although one can argue that he had a little help from Maria during the actuall confrontation whit Dracula (as it is implyed on the intro of SOTN) it was clear that by a narrative point of view Richter was WAY stronger than Maria who had to be saved by him when she stormed the castle alone, and oh boy, Maria is no joke, but I wont go deeper in her scale for now, by the time of SOTN he fougth Alucard himself, the same Alucard who just defeated Galamoth, a being almost comparable to a fully resurected Dracula from Rondo of Blood and who is FAR more powerfull than Death, Alucard even defeated Maria depending on the platform your playing, and yes I know, Richter LOST that fight, and Alucard could have killed Richter if he wanted to or if not by the special classes Maria gave him to see Shaft, but the fight pushed Alucard to his limit, the same Alucard who proceeded to fight his father, RIGHT AFTER that fight whit Richter, Alucard is literally like, top 5 strongest character on the series, and Richter manage to do well against him, that is arguably as impressive as his victory against Dracula himself, and he continued to be THE STRONGEST Belmont of all... Until- 1 - Julius Belmont = So here we are folks, Julius is not the strongest Belmont, he is the strongest CHARACTER of the whole series, he defeated the MOST POWERFULL incarnation of Dracula, I said defeated? He killed him, I said killed him? Many have done that, he ENDED HIS LIFE FOR GOOD. It was so bad, Dracula had to be reborn under an entire new existance, and Chaos himself had to intervene in order to maintain his place on the balance betwin good and evil, Alucard, yes, THE ALUCARD called out for Julius, cause he COULD NOT sustain the power to open the rift to the Chaos realm and Julius could, did I mentioned that this Julius was a senior and was WAY past his prime during that? An older tired Julius Belmont fought a prime Soma Cruz, the same Soma Cruz who is the second strongest character of the franchise, and toyed whit him just to test him and for the lols of it, let me repeat, Soma f* ucking Cruz was fighting for his life, while the Demon Castle crumbled and collapsed by the song of Heart of Fire during theyr clash, against a past his prime Julius Belmont, and in the end of the fight... Julius himself revelaed he was TAKING EASY as not to KILL Soma Cruz THE F* UCK IS WRONG WHIT THIS GUY! And as if this wasent enought, Julius sayd that if Soma give inn to Chaos, and become a STRONGER version of himself as Lord of Darkness, he would be the one to go after him, and WIP HIS ASS TO OBLIVION STILL! Lissen to me, I dare to say this: If every SINGLE one of the Belmonts from the past, teamed up against Julius... No, against an older past his prime Julius, he would WIPE THE F* UCKING FLOOR whit all of them, thats it, no more things to say. Oh and, of course... That is just my opinion at the end of the day.

Leon turned knight at 16, skills second to none. Invincible in battles (wars, crusades). Defeated the Dark Lord of the time inside his eternal night plus the Forgotten One. Had no training in combat against dark creatures, no whip combat training. Just got there and did the job. He passed down his battle knowledge. If he is not the strongest, I dont know who is.

This is the weakest argument that has come out, and it would've worked had Dawn of Sorrow not had him lose to Dario someone who's nowhere near Dracula's power and needed Soma to step in and defeat him. Which makes it clear that Soma is above Julius and heck even Alucard is most likely above Julius since Alucard didn't view Dario as a massive threat.

That's probably what Alucard did to Dario since he got kicked in by Dmitrii, since he (presumably) underestimated Dmitrii he probably underestimated Dario. Also Soma didn't win - Aguni did. He _beat_ Dario, but he didn't *kill* Dario. Aguni kills him if he uses the seal, and if he doesn't he simply puts Dario in a similar regeneration situation that Julius did (although he isn't tired out because of his stamina is better because he's arguably in his prime, which is absolutely not true for Julius.)

But what about Gabriel? He may be alternate universe but his name is Belmont. He also defeated his own son, Trevor. And he felt bad about killing his own son, so he gave Trevor his own blood so he didn’t die, making the Lords of Shadow Trevor Belmont become Alucard.
