@waynewayne96932 жыл бұрын
I played professionally and honestly who would want him to play in that game that no skills are gained? Noone and I mean no one who knows anything about basketball would have let that kid play on lowered rims against that competition that has any hope of that kid playing at a high level. Not saying him playing is against the rules but saying there is no benefit to his future potential. His parents/ coach not making him play up is just baffling. He’s not learning physically or the mental side of the game. One gains this by playing and practicing against older bigger better skilled players with high bball IQ. One must learn to read other player patterns, how to get a shot on a bigger more athletic player (he can’t depend on height when everyone on the team can dunk and his defenders are 7 foot tall), developing his shot on a legal rim height so he should at least know the location and strength required at least to hit backboard even if he can’t see the goal, not to mention game conditioning against quicker defenders and pace of a game. It’s sad really because he will be playing catch-up the rest of basketball life. Not saying he can’t but to use language as an example there are plenty of people who become fluent in different languages later in life but having one learn it from a adult native speaker at a young age is going to be naturally better than someone learning it later in life from a native 5 year old.
