Its crazy that in medieval times, some random guy could send a king a letter saying "i live in a utopia with unicorns" and europeans would believe it for 500 years
@ByTheStorm13 күн бұрын
Kinda makes some sense because the lack of knowledge. Cool thing is that griffins are possibly derived from a misunderstanding of protoceratops bones in Central Asia like the hypothesis about mammoth skulls and the cyclops in Greece.

@@ByTheStormpeople tend to believe in mythical creatures regardless of any physical evidence existing. It makes more sense that a griffin, dragon and similar creatures were fantasies just like chimera’s and phoenixes were.

unicorns were perfectly real animals, sure not like those in fantasy but normal single horned

@@GBOAC People write and tell stories about what they know. About things they find and events they go through, too. It’s not much of a stretch that some people came across bones or some ruins or go through a life changing event and want to find some way to understand what they’re seeing. Unicorns could’ve easily been inspired by the one horned extinct rhinoceros bones. Not to mention the sale of narwhal horns fueled the imagination. Then the game of telephone happened and storytellers turned it into what we’ve got now. The Noah’s Ark story and the flood in Gilgamesh is alleged to be inspired by the flooding that formed the Black Sea. Stonehenge had plenty of theories for its construction in the premodern era. As did the pyramids and the sphinx. Centuries after the Hagia Sophia was built, it was alleged in the historical record by some to have had its dome placed on by angels. I’m not saying it’s out there to be imaginative, though.

It’s heartbreaking to see people thinking this was Jesus… when His second coming is for 1000 years, not a few hundred. And all the prophecies written about it in Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah… there will be no wars in any nation for that 1000 years…instead, nations will go to Jerusalem and learn God’s ways. And they will come up and keep the feast of Sukkot (which has not been fulfilled) along with all the other Biblical holidays that God gave to us as gifts -holidays that tell our story and the gospel message. There will be no paganism. Go back a thousand years and try to find proof that no wars, battles are fighting was going on in any of the nations. That alone tells you something. Christ said many would come in His name, many anti-christs, (those who pretend they are) and have peace, and many false prophets. This propaganda about the millennial reign already happening fits with the agenda of the adversary which the Bible says that satan will try to change Gods laws and the times and seasons… we see both of these in what the church has done by changing a Jewish Messiah into a Greek lawbreaker and celebrating pagan festivals that we attach Christian names to but are in contradiction to the first century believers in addition to all of scripture. Most seem like they dont open their bibles and instead, repeat off doctrines of men. There’s more to the 1000 year reign than just the mentions in Revelation. Christ is coming to fullfill every part of the prophecy. It’s important to know the word - the whole word, old and New Testament.

They didn’t think this was Jesus. They thought the Apostle Thomas converted a king to the east, and also thought of the magi that visited Jesus as a child.

@Chance_Rice This is what it says In Luke 24 verse 29 to 33 29: And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all trees; 30: When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31: So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. 32: Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. (That means until Israel becomes a nation again) 33: Heaven and Earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (That means that Jesus will come when Heaven and Earth be gone which is on judgement day and Jesus's second coming is on judgement day)
