Mumm-Ra vs Mon-Star, the villian of the Silver Hawks, was something I always wanted to see as a kid back in the before times.

Mumm Ra vs Skeletor was discussed in the web site COMIC BOOK UNIVERSE BATTLES which was a precursor to BATTLE ARENA before KZbin existed. Skeletor got more votes. Mumm Ra's super human strength in his other form could crush Skeletor but Skeletor's magic was superior and he had more resources available to him in Snake Mountain and more allies on his side. Mumm Ra vs He Man would have been interesting because he had a degree of superhuman strength in his other form. I never liked how He Man trumped EVERYONE except for "Faker" in strength and fighting ability. An invincible hero is not interesting. BEAST MAN in a remake should be even stronger than He man and fiercer and compare to him the way Sabertooth compared to Wolverine. And Hordak should have a degree of Super Human strength too and compare to He man the way Darkseid compares to Superman.

I still dream of a Thundercats figting video game. With the original cast the mutants and the Lunataks, you have already 15 characters. Then add some DLC with Grune, Yaga, Pumyara, Bengali and Lynox. I picture fighting Mum-Ra on his decaying form and then the Ever Living as the Final Boss.

Slight correction about his sword. His sword was made from a collapsed Galaxy, and Lion-O's sword was the left overs. So their swords are of the same material and basically same power, or close power. I always remembered that from the Animated series which was the coolest things I seen in the way weapons were made.

Besides wouldn't you think that it's very creative that an entire Galaxy was concentrated into an ore to make 2 of the most powerful weapons in the possible universe? It doesn't seem lazy, it just feels that it was really different and creative. Also if Mum-Ra and Lion-O's swords were wielded by those 2, the strength alone would be in the grand scale of that MASSIVELY over powered Gurran Legan (okay mispelled that wrong) Mecha. Wrong? Nahhhhh just different version that's all.

No it should be seen as different. They never reveal how the Swords were forged in the original version but I severely doubt it was like in the 2011 reboot. The sworld of Omens gets broken 4 times, 1 time by literally just getting snapped in half like a twig. No way would a sword forged from a dying galaxy be snapped so easily.

Wankah (Mumma-Ra’s past name) was a high priest to a Egyptian pharaoh. He coveted rulership, summoned the ancient spirits and made a pact to serve them for enough power to defeat anyone who stood in his way. The spirits gave Wankah magic and immortality which changed his appearance named him Mumm-Ra. Mumm-Ra confronted the Pharaoh but was defeated in a duel by the Pharaoh’s son. Mumm-Ra was imprisoned in the Black Pyramid where he pleaded with the ancient spirits for help. They replied once he built giant statues in their likeness they would give him greater power and short leave from the Black Pyramid

Just kidding, no seriously though as a kid what sold me on the Thunder Cats as a kid was that first meeting/confrontation(fight) between Mumm-Ra and Lion-O for me that was one of the best battles in cartoon history then and almost still now short though it was. The music, them feeling each other out, Lion-O’s initial confusion before and! after the fight. all just classic stuff. I’m loving the Thunder Cats series your doing.
