I totally admire Titan Gilroy and his team for what they do. It is amazing; cannot find the right words. Of course there is load of commercial and marketing approach, but ALL you (team) do is REAL. You are makers, creating tangible complex things, not just speaking. Fantastic. Thanks very much Titan G for what you do, for what you transmit and the way you energize your team. Amazing!

Thank you to those at Titan that have worked hard to do what so many of us have tried to do from behind the scenes for the last 40 years. I remember when I choose to be a machinist in 1986 and go to trade school at the age of 15. I was ostracized by family, friends, teachers and school counselors. I needed to have a degree to be someone or something. I have done work for all the major Space, Air Craft, Automotive, Medical and other companies without a degree. I teach degreed people manufacturing. I get to teach the Airforce and Army manufacturing. I saw this was possible 20 years ago and no one believed me. Thank you for bringing my vision to life and doing what I could have only dreamed was possible with this effort.

It’s phenomenal. After decades of manufacturing being played down as a dirty, second rate career possibility, Titan and team have almost single handedly shown the truth and made manufacturing “cool” and desireable to the public at large. Very well done indeed. 👍👍👍

Amazing to watch. As an apprentice in the UK around 25 years ago... the company training me took delivery of a Tornos Deco 2000. Definitely one of the first installed on UK soil. A machine with capabilities never seen before with its now perhaps outdated PNC control. Experience with that machine set me up well for a career machining. 1/4 century later I'm still at it although not swiss. Not enough investment in Tornos south UK.

The one thing I will say being in this industry for over 30 years. I have gone from a newbie to working in mold shops tool and die shops job shops a cnc programmer and now Engineering in the aerospace industry. I have seen it all I have done it all set up , fixture design, macro programming can run every cam software on the market. The machinery in this shop is amazing , the reality of it all is this. Most shops do not have these capabilities most big shops have machines half broken most don't hold tolerance , new machines are laughed at. A prime example is Starret Tool . Most of there machines are 1950s. They still run acme screw machines . lots of shops do not have a but a few sets of mics and some gage pin to measure parts. Its sad and that's why this industry is falling apart shop by shop. Its sad really i have made a good living doing this .
@brandons91383 ай бұрын
Never been in an ISO 13485 or AS9100 shop I take it? Shops at that level can't compete unless you've got the tools/machines to keep up. If they fall behind the curve they die. Sometimes quickly sometimes a slow death.

I've been in the trade now 50years I have one of the first desktop computers people here in Phoenix told me back in the day I was one of the baddest ass badasses here we were cutting remex tape reader plugs off hooking them up to commodore 64s most shops didn't have N/Cs if they did they didn't have word address cards. Somewhere around here I have the equivalent of a 1980 USB drive, a raw FIFO memory with dip switches on each end to adjust the baud rates the number of bits all the parameters in or out it wasn't that big but you can even use it as more tape from memory when you've already used up your 80 m. Junior year of high school I made my first 20 sets of 426 hemi heads for top fuel and alcohol racing. I can't even believe where the computers are today although I've come to that point where I hate technology I don't want to ever know or remember a password ever again there's a feeling like no other feeling at the end of the day that is knowing you can make anything you can dream of if someone can dream and explain it to me I can make that.

You can make Amazing money in this trade… you just have to be good and know how to sell yourself. I always made great money and refused to work for companies that wouldn’t pay me my worth. I also worked hard for my employers and took great pride in making them money. When I started my own shop… I could barely afford my rent because of my child support and bills etc… But I sold myself to the right people and found customers who believed in me… and slept in my shop and worked 20 hr shifts… made my first million inside of 10 months and a million a month at the end of 3 yrs. Always go after solving the right and big problems. That’s what we did here. Solve huge problems for industry… and I pay my machinists better than they could get anywhere else… and give them an opportunity to be on a team that’s changing the world. You can make great money in this trade… but you have to be great… and be able to sell yourself. Titan

I've got 20 years in the trade and make well north of $100K a year. I'm a programmer for a medical device manufacturer. As it is right now I have about 40 machines that I'm the programmer for. Some of the machines do nothing but run the same job day in and day out for years. If you are trying to make good money in the trade shops with advanced certifications are where you have to be. Your average mom and pop job shop is fighting with shops all over the country for work competing on price and lead time. That environment makes it hard to pay well as the cash flow can be up and down from month to month. The shops with advanced certifications are usually flush with work from well established customers. Aerospace and medical companies don't like to change suppliers. You really have to drop the ball hard to lose a customer. These shops have a more stable cash flow and can afford to pay better. By the way I'm in California as well. There all all kinds of high dollar jobs to be had if you have the skills. I STILL get calls from recruiters/headhunters based of an old ass resume I have online. If they saw what I've been doing for the last 7-10 years my phone and email would be packed with offers.

@@TITANSofCNC hey man all i knw is these machines cant run them selfs. so if the machinig industry wants you to work hard trouble shooting loosing ur hair over . and physical work good luck with the generation coming up. especially with having the internet and socials now right. wut does everyone say work smarter not harder. only difference is there no manly skill for these youngsters that choose the youtube podcast world. unless u have experience and lived it as u have. but im pretty sure the machining industry is close to making robot operators or machinist. like the fast food and automated industry. and i agree know ur worth and not work for companys that dont wanna pay. but hey its the same shit different toilet with these companys not even talking the enviroment and conditions. as ur beautiful clean shop. and chemicals. why u ventured on ur own with ur high level smarts in machining and understand to pay all ur workers more than boeing and blue origin companies im sure.! Your Big and a trend in the machining world right now. and i believe u can not only convince these companies as u have convinced them on time and machine capablilty pushing tools to max for time solving difficult problems for bigger profit but also convince companies to right fully pay more to there machinist and future machinist.

@@Squid15ncali When I got recruited by Tesla they basically told me to name my price. I refused that because they have a horrible reputation. I've known many people how have worked there in the machine/model shop and regretted it. Just a few month back I got recruited by an indoor farming start up that offered me $120K a year to start. I had an offer from Joby aviation for over $115K. There are good paying jobs out there.
