Ty Masterpool is back in the lime light as the privateer who has less than 3 days ever on a 450, beating factory contenders in the second Thunder Valley moto. We catch up with Ty and explain many of the hardships that Ty and his family had overcome to make it to the races. We also speak with his Dad, Jerry Masterpool as well.

Josh Mosiman is doing amazing things with these interviews. The dude races the race, gets off the track, gets cleaned up, and comes out and interviews the dudes he raced with… and he does a killer interview. I’m a huge fan of Josh and this channel because of the coverage he gives. The insight as a current rider and his industry connections provide some great stuff in these videos. Hope this continues for a long time.

If I remember right Ty was running faster lap times than the Pro Sport guys at Loretta’s on his Star Yamaha 125 last time he was there. Kid was blazing fast! This is where I figured he’d end up some day. Took a while but I’m not surprised. This kid has what it takes.

I was blown away to see Ty running in front of some of the few remaining factory guys at Thunder Valley. I was scratching my head wondering where he came from. I'm like thinking Is he related to Jake ? Turns out yes. Small World it is. Back in 2002/2003 I was providing a 50CC LEM for Jake to race in the Reno area. I don't have kids so I wanted to help a kid out and get my bikes seen. The LEM's were Little LC rocket ships in the day.
